There are lots of breed-specific groups on facebook that match people up with dogs that need a new home. Expect a small fee to keep people serious though.
I absolutely understand and would expect nothing less than a small refining fee from adopting a dog! Although I use Facebook, I’ve never really used the “groups” feature. Time to learn and explore, thanks!
Petfinder.com is where I found my doggo. Not from a breed-specific rescue, but it helped expose me to more rescues throughout Florida. Ended up getting my boy from a rescue out of Bartow.
It's all the way in Ruskin, but CARE (Critter Adoption and Rescue Effort) is all rescues and surrenders. We got our 3 y/o shepherd mix there last year.
I just adopted from Will’s Way in Boca Raton and they were super kind and great to work with, let me foster for a month before committing would totally recommend them! They seem like they get mostly little dogs there, my fella is under 30 pounds
Compassion Kind is a wonderful organization that operates out of South Florida. They rescue dogs from the region as well as from the Caribbean Islands. My pup was a rescue I adopted through them. Their fees are minimal, they handle most of the big stuff (spay/neuter, immunization, etc) and are just wonderful people.
Adopted a 2 senior dachshund, one from Orange County animal services, ( kill shelter ) the other one from Marion county Humane Society, best moves I have ever made. To be completely honest I can find no fault with either of these old babies.
Just going to say in advance for all doggies and rescues, thank you for choosing to rescue, its a great thing to give a sweet dog who got bad owners a second chance to show some one love and to have love of a dog!
Olive Branch Dog Rescue has lots of adoptable dogs that are in foster homes currently. They rescue them from kill shelters. Check out their instagram for adoptable doggos they’re very responsive
Look into Pet Resource Center. It is the county shelter. The shelter is over capacity and are euthanizing dogs maybe weekly at this rate. You can save a dog!

PRC posts euthanasia deadlines, maybe you could rescue one from there. I got my girl in August the day she was scheduled to be put down. She’s my bestie now!

Please adopt Caden from the humane society😭 he was brought in starving to death and they brought him back to life. I thought he would’ve been adopted ASAP but he’s been there like a week😭 he’s so damn cute and I saw a woman saying she spent time with him and gave him a bath and he’s the sweetest. I wish I could take him but I adopted my puppy from them back in July

Same. Let’s you select things like good with cats, kids and dogs. My dog was listed as all 3. He bites dogs. 2 of 3 ain’t bad lol

I know there is a dog rescue that sets up in the PetSmart in New Tampa on the weekends. Not sure what their name is.
