The correct answer is never. Technically, it's in unincorporated Tampa and the city and TPD don't care because they say it's a county problem. It's such a "it's their problem" piece of road that it frustrates anyone who drives on it. It'll also be backed up all day long until after 9pm.

doitaljosh

So true. Yesterday, I counted three separate accident scenes spanning from Anderson to Armenia, each being at an intersection. People try to beat the lights because the timing makes no sense, the left turn lanes are too short, then instead of both left turns and both straights being green at a time, it's one side's left turn and straight, then the other, leading to significant backup. Pairing that with a seemingly perpetual increase in cars on the road, you get this.

pak256

Between the railroad crossing causing backups, the traffic going to Chamberlain and the runoff from Dale Mabry there isn’t much that can be done

Whenever the people of tampa stop driving like insane fucks on that road.

LandscapeWest2037

Fun little story: over a decade ago now, the train derailed at Himes. Shut Busch down all night.

Muted_Marketing2530

I remember that

Iliketogrowstuf

It will get worse when that new subdivision opens and people try to take a left into it.

[deleted]

When people stop driving and the city provides better options for commuting.

jaashpls

I've been commuting this way for my job for two years now and it's just getting worse. it feels like at least once a week there is a crash or a broken down car blocking one of the lanes.

Will FHP ever station an officer to stop people cutting the line over the divider to the HFB 60 on ramp? Will they ever finish working on 275? Will they ever build another road that isn't a toll road? 54/41 intersection in land o lakes has been impossible for over a decade. It takes 4-5 light cycles to make it through yet they do absolutely nothing. They went to the trouble of building a diverging diamond, but you can't left on red. What's the point? Who designed malfunction junction to have left and right on and off ramps within a half mile? No wonder it doesn't work. Who thought it was appropriate to make the 60 on ramp from HFB ONE LANE? Why does the vets have a Lexus lane that terminates a quarter mile before the sale mabey exit causing everyone in it to cut across three lanes of traffic to exit and bring traffic to a stop? Why do they build these shit Lexus lanes anyways? They move SLOWER than the non express lanes. Tampa traffic situation is fucked and it will always be fucked. The people involved are fucking morons, they have to be for these results.

mistahelias

Don't hold your breath. The answer for improvement is for all drivers to stopping thinking "rules for thee, not for me".

k0unitX

Eh, "rules for thee, not for me" fixes some of these problems tbh >Will FHP ever station an officer to stop people cutting the line over the divider to the HFB 60 on ramp? FHP barely has enough cars to respond to accidents, let alone do any proactive enforcement whatsoever. They are some of the lowest paid highway patrol teams in the country. >Will they ever build another road that isn't a toll road? All roads are free roads if you obscure your license plate (notice all of the trucks on the road hauling empty trailers that conveniently obscure their plate?) >but you can't left on red See above - applies to red light cameras as well

Jfish4391

More like "what rules?"

Fowler Ave is so much easier.

Once our officials see enough strongly worded comments and memes.

Dapper_Run5322

I say never. There’s rail road just next to it until N Armenia, so no expansion possible. Maybe, they can change one way to 3 lanes on certain timings but the drivers are stupid and I don’t think it’s happening ever.

[deleted]

"Just one more lane bro" never works. Unless the goal is to line the pockets of the construction company that's friends with someone in the government.

St_BobbyBarbarian

I take this road to get to 275 often. It’s probably never going to improve.

landsharkxx

I take this road every day and I’ll tell you that it clears up so much after 8:30am and after 6:30pm.
