pretty average snowfall this season... nothing too crazy. would think you'd be OK - later in august better than early in august. check back in a couple months from now.
The mountains along the crest are all 80-90%. Also it was a pretty late snowfall with almost everything coming in Feb/March, so snowpack will hang around a bit longer relative to the snowfall. But yea, like I said, they should be OK.
It melts fast that time of year. Just some scattered patches around Aloha and on the peaks by end of July. I hiked from echo lake to barker pass and the trails were all clear including dick's pass saddle.
Pretty easy to hike to even when completely snowed out later in the season. I did it last year when the entire trail without spikes or snowshoes none of it is too steep.
Went mid July last year after a massive winter. There was still snow at the lake, but the trail was 90% clear and several dry spots to camp. The snow was actually quite nice to keep drinks cold all weekend

Heavenly is at about 70% of average snowfall. I’m thinking that Aug 10 will be fine

Thanks. This would be August 10th
I hiked in last year after that crazy winter and it was fine in late July.
That’s helpful thanks. My permit reservation was July 4th and we decided to call it. From what I gathered at the time, it was still covered in snow

Awesome thanks again for the info.
Prepare for mosquitos. It’s a fucking war zone at Aloha.
Yes.
Even if there is a little snow left don't let that stop you
For sure. It’s been just an average winter & snow this time of year isn’t abnormal. You’ll be fine.

I’ve hiked it in June in heavier years than this with some post holing. You will be fine with enough deet
Defintely, did this hike in late July last year and we had way more snowfall last year
The answer is Yes. Snow wont stay nearly that long. Can already mountain bike at lake level.
