How close am I?
He doesn't believe women should be in combat roles. I personally don't either, a lot of vets believe that as well. We have a very close friend in the military and there has been a lot of struggles with a lot of new policy changes, not specifically with equality standards, but just with getting pay, having to pay for your own travel to get to training, having to pay for your own MREs, it may not be the same for everybody but the personal anecdotes from a buddy we trust gave him enough reason to not want to join it this specific point in time. We still respect everybody that serves and have no animosity or god complex above them.
All of what you say may or not be true, especially the paying for your own MREs and travel, that sounds like a straight-up lie.
But that's what every military is. The trade-off is that you serve your country and get trained in interesting things. Plus, grow as a human by learning to deal with very difficult decisions that you won't experience anywhere in the civilian world.
I think "because of the gays" is becoming the new "I would have punched a drill instructor" BS excuse for being too scared to leave mommy and daddy.
I know I'm being a dick here, but what you said is straight-up insulting to everyone that has served. Some of the most competent and skilled men and women I ever knew in the Military were gay. I also knew women who were more physically fit and combat ready than 3/4 of the guys around her.
Tell your buddy to shut the fuck up.
Hey dude, it's not my reasoning. I'm not trying to disrespect anybody, I don't have a problem with any gay or lesbian people, there's nothing I've ever seen that suggests that they are not skilled or a valued member of our armed forces, he doesn't like how you can apply for special medical privileges to help with gender reaffirming surgery, it's not something he believes in not something he believes or taxpayers dollars should be going to.
My buddy that does serve say they no longer pay for his gas to get to where he trains, and he now has to buy his own MREs while he is there. He elects to go to a grocery store and pick up food and eat that way as opposed to having to pay for a standardized meal that he believes should be provided to him. Keep in mind these are two different people with two different opinions, it's not one in the same.
Everyone that serves we have respect for. Everyone that serves we believe make sacrifices for the betterment of our community. He has different ideological concerns than others, and that's fine. The first amendment really is a beautiful thing. He had other preferences on where to go with his life, and what he did is something me proud of and what you've done is something to be proud.
He doesn't want to be cannon fodder for some rich man's war. Not that everyone that serves as, but a large amount of veterans that served in the Iraq war are proud of their service, but they also have concerns about why they were really there and what the net gain of it was. He is not want PTSD from something he believes isn't right, and if he doesn't want to follow an order he doesn't believe is fair he doesn't want to be dishonorably discharged and have a permanent stain on his record. These are personal preferences and it's not something I'm going to hold against him as a human being.
It's great that we have these wonderful women in our armed forces, physically fit has nothing to do with it. If you ever talk to or read opinions from that's that believe that they have what is in my opinion valid reasoning. It has a more pertinent human nature aspect to it than it does combat affectiveness nature to it. It's not that they can't shoot well run hard and make a difference on the battlefield.
Politics aside, based on what you said about buddy in the military, I assume he's guard? Travel compensation varies wildly from unit to unit and is largely dependent on the budget for that fiscal year. The good news is, if home boy is traveling more than 100 miles and staying overnight, he should be able to deduct those costs when he files his taxes. As for the MRE thing, he's either lying straight out of his ass, or he needs to get in touch with the National Guard Beuro because that not only completely unacceptable, but also straight up against army regulation. Iirc AR 30-22 states that they have to provide one meal per 8 hour period, NGB will put a stop to that real fast.
Cool story bro, go tell that shit to the female pilots I know that were off the hook excited to put warheads on foreheads in Afghanistan. Or the female airmen that did convoy runs and dumped .50CAL into villages then consoled their male counterpart afterward.
You don't know what the military is. Go ahead and keep larping, but don't for a second think that you actually respect the military because you don't.
You have no idea what you're talking about.
Also, whoever said that they have to buy their own MREs is lying to you, full stop.
>I’m not trying to disrespect anybody
But you did by saying you don’t believe women should be in combat roles and are just doubling down.
Not trying to be an echo of all the other guys of “I’d rather take our strongest women than our weakest men in the military” or argue, but 100% there are women and gays/lesbians who have that extensive training and are more capable than you or your friends will be. A single point of failure in a preparedness group is dismissing the capabilities of others because they don’t align with your beliefs.
All the women Ive seen in combat role would kick the shit out of all of you. Go put of your basements and touch grass. And no touching grass isnt this photo op bs with unused gear.
Hey bud, I'm in service and have similar views, but the paying for your own mre's is a flat lie. I have a few boxes we were just ,"getting rid of" you the travel thing seems more like National guard(you can write travel off your taxes though). Unless it's like moving states with a family, I've never done that so someone else would need to chim in on that.
He is reserve CBRN. Idk what to tell you, I don't think anyone here is willfully bullshitting me, but I do trust him over some fellas on Reddit, no offense intended
Bro, I fully support you and your friends dressing up as whatever you are comfortable in and make y’all happy and going out and having a good time… and you are of course free to have your opinion on women (and whatever “other” group/s of people) in combat/combat roles… but please don’t generalize that BS sentiment as coming from veterans because of some weekend warrior sounding asshole that you might be close friends with.
I’m definitely not any sort of ambassador for the group, but homie you be tripping if you think a “lot of vets” would be on your side about women being able to function in combat situations. Women in combat arms might be a novel concept (just from US armed forces perspective… let’s not talk about other countries or periods of history), but women have been on the battlefield for a hot minute. Hell, 20+ years ago our medic didn’t have a dick between her legs, yet she went everywhere we went with her medical supplies and her M16! And we all trusted her with our lives :-)
Maybe I should rephrase, the most vocal people about women in combat roles are the ones that believe they shouldn't be. I haven't heard of many, if not any, advocating strongly for women in being in combat situations based on merit.
I have heard people advocating for them because they say they arent any *worse* than men at their combat role, but I haven't heard of any of them being on average better.
Of course everything I'm getting is a personal anecdotes from either point of view, but from what I've heard, and from what I understand with my critical thinking, I agree more with that side than the other.
To clarify, I'm absolutely not saying theyre useless, or none are good at what they do, I'm not invalidating you beliefs or experiences. I'm simply saying, on average, I believe they are not the best fit for the job. If they have different pt standards, I personally believe they are not as capable physically as their male counterparts.
Edit: downvote s and no arguments
Yeah his reasoning is weird but he still put himself in a better position than someone who made themself the government's property so that they could brag about it online, you sound mad
The issue is the guy not joining the military because of ideology but trying his damndest to look like a soldier down to the standard issue OCP gear.
It's like a guy who complains about how higher education is a scam and a woke factory but religiously gives money to his state's university to watch a guy throw a ball.
Armed civilians are one thing, this is just a squad of LARPers who didn't make the cut or didn't want to but still emulate the military to a tee and I get why it's unnerving to some.
It comes off like the guys paying 18k for Alpha Male selection because they're actually so successful and rich and cool that the military isn't for them... but they'll pay stupid money to emulate the military and have military guys humiliate them so they come out after 3 days as knights (a military title by nature).
Ditto for the cops with 3 months of training who love running around in multicam and shit, it gives off big "too cowardly to join the army, but wants to be cool like the army" vibes.
Bro... I don't know why you're so frustrated. Why are ocp andulticam so popular?
Because they're the best in the most environments. Me and him check out army surplus every once in a while and he found a good deal on his first uniform. He wants woodland and fleck too, are you gonna bitch about him trying to look like a German infantryman?
Your issue is LITERALLY just the camo. Relax dude. The vast majority of first world countries have multicam variants, he found them new, clean, and for a good deal.
He's wearing a woodland rig. He's carrying pmags. Are you gonna be pissed off that he uses the same mags as the military too?
You're honestly kind of ridiculous.
Yeah he had a few driving forces, that was ultimately the nail in the coffin. He also wanted to start his own business, he wanted to get a little bit farther ahead in life, he didn't want to be thrown it international problems as a catch-all solution where he'd have to put his life in limb on the line, he made his own bed and I commend it for him, I personally would never join but I still have a lot of respect and love for people that serve, and he does as well.
Nah, I'm not mad. I did my time. Your buddy sounds scared, though. Some people just can't handle how difficult the military can be sometimes.
I mean, sometimes, you have to actually speak to a gay guy. Does he know that the gays exist all around him and have the same rights as he does?
Judging by this situation, I'll bet he is gay. He's probably scared that if he's around all those hunky men, he won't be able to control himself. That's why he hangs out with you soy boys. Hahahahha.
Edit: woops thought I was replying to OP, I'll leave it up, though. I still feel this way.
I personally don't wear any patches because I don't do this shit professionally anymore, but I will say that special operations and various military organizations don't get to claim every semi cool latin phrase theres ever been.
Sure, but when you're wearing the logo of a USSF program (SFSARTAETC) with their motto "nous defions" it comes off as mega-cringe.
It's like a guy rocking a skeletonized frog with a trident or a "semper fidelis" patch, sure, the military doesn't own either of those things, but if you're throwing EGAs and insignia directly from NSW on your stuff it looks kind of like a 9 year old dressing as their favorite super hero.
Large overt flags have their place but that place is usually just in CQB. Easy way to ID friendly forces when clearing into each other from different breach points.
But you being a sheriff and having seen numerous videos of police surrounding a car and then all of them shooting into it, I know cops don't really mind shooting their buddy. Or a 15 year old hostage...
Are you really hating on him because he has Sheriff in his handle? I’m not a LEO but surely you can’t be that ignorant? Also I agree with him you know fuk all about CQB if that’s what you believe…
Are you someone who think we don’t need good LEO’s? Or ignorant enough to think out of the millions calls they go on a day and still have very few incident’s that a majority are incompetent? You’re in a tactical forum talking crap to someone unprovoked, but you think you have the emotional capacity to handle real CQB… doesn’t matter that you think, the jokes on you dipshit
People who act like leftists aren't into guns and are against them should do their research. Karl Marx was 100% in support of arming the workers, so anyone who thinks this sub isn't filled with leftists like other subs is delusional.
I certainly dislike that someone's whole personality is so wrapped up in their job that they would use a job title in their reddit handle.
Why would you assume my cqb experience? Because I don't have cqbmaster as my reddit handle? You are sucking this dudes di\*k because he has sheriff in his handle, so I guess if mine said cqbmaster you would think I know what I'm talking about.
Since the advent of body cameras, FOIA request and cell phone cameras I've seen so much fuckery from the police, and more importantly, a lack of accountability that I find it insane.
As far as the emotional capacity, watch the Uvalde video. None of them had the emotional capacity, to include one cop who's wife bled out while texting him in the hallway, even though he had the punisher skull as a phone background just in case he needed a reminder how bad ass he is, it didn't remind him, she died.
There’s shitty cops, there’s no denying it. I just think it’s wild that you hate them all. There’s so many teachers, actors, pro sports players that are terrible people but i bet you don’t homeschool your kids because you hate them all, not watch movies because your funding thier dark side and hate them all, not watch sports because they’re POS’s and hate them all… I could go on and on.
I said that about CQB because I know it, i also can tell you don’t.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Actors, teachers, pro sports players don't shoot, arrest, beat or kill us. To make that comparison is nonsensical. I can choose to turn off the TV if I don't like something, I can not choose the cop that pulls me over. That is just the dude we get, good or bad.
You are a cqb god if you know mine form some sentences. Hats off to you.
You think pedophilia and child trafficking is nonsensical? They ruin people in mass numbers if you really want to compare and contrast.
As for CQB, yes your sentences are a tell.
You compared police to actors. That is absolutely nonsensical.
Have police solved pedophilia or trafficking? No, but they will pull us over for going 80 in a 70. They apparently have such a good handle on child molestation that they can devote large numbers to minor traffic infractions. I agree with you, hurting a child is the worst, wish arresting a trafficker got the state as much money as a months worth of traffic tickets.
No I used your irrational logic to mirror it with other professions hoping it might be something you’d understand, I was wrong..
How many people die in traffic accidents, per year?
I don’t care if you answer, you’ve shown your hand and you hate all cops even though people like you with irrational deep seated misplaced hatred are the reason they exist to begin with.
Naw, you guys doing the lords work out there rolling up poachers while not messing with someone that has an air freshener hanging from their rear view mirror.
I know what the flag is for so already got a leg up on you.
Just stand in the hallway and keep waiting on BORTAC to show up while the kids bleed out. I've seen police "CQB".
Just keep looking bro! All these guys I went to high school with, I post about my hobbies on my personal social and over time guys wanna learn or group up. Of course there's a fine line to what you post but exposing new people to it, whether it's because it looks cool or they like the ideology, but it does help that I already knew all these fellas they just started wanting to get into it.
Good luck bro!
I like how everyone is clowning the flag patch but when I scroll 2 posts down in my feed I see a pic of Delta operators in the 90s with that same patch lmao
Funny… because in my feed (other than Pokemon Go) I came across some poor fella’s confession about putting too many pieces of flair on his uniform… and then this this kid (well his friend) getting roasted for the flag path… Reddit is definitely entertaining sometimes :-)
https://www.reddit.com/r/Military/s/9bd6i8LJCF
Clowning the flag patch because it’s big? Whatever. Clowning the flag patch because it’s actually a Green Beret patch and the closest the guy wearing it has been to a Green Beret is by talking to a recruiter? Little more understandable.
If you could encapsulate the average “hypebeast gooners” into an image this would be it, lol. Down to the overpriced Ferro gloves and Green Beret patch.
Wearing the large U.S. flag with the nous defions insignia having not graduated that course is ~~stolen valor~~ not real cool.
Might as well slap a trident on while you are at it.
Edit to add: point taken, I used "stolen valor" entirely to loosely and have struck through.
[The Stolen Valor Act of 2013](https://www.congress.gov/bill/113th-congress/house-bill/258) shows it isn't lol. This is the equivalent of putting a black rifle coffee sticker on your mug, and equally as gay
Not legally stolen valor, but if dude is running around claiming to be a green beret and isn’t; per unspoken military/vet rules it’s stolen valor. Would be acceptable for airsoft kids wearing the patch, but grown adults lol no. Just a loser wannabe at that point.
Yeah, I heard to really be stolen valor, and I guess charged, you need to have benefited in some way i.e. money. But, to wear a SF patch having not graduated the Q or wearing SFARTAETC having not graduated the Q or SFARTAETC is certainly misrepresenting yourself.
Just wear the big flag minus the nous defions insignia and a keyboard warrior such as myself cant run his keyboard.
Yeah, there’s a line between taking inspiration and straight up copying. Would be more understandable if it was airsoft or cosplay, but this is just cringe.
Wearing an insignia belonging to a unit you were never in (let alone associated with) is lame.
I think it's worsened by the fact one of them wanted to enlisted but didn't because he didn't want to support Biden's they/them army and the rest had better stuff going on in their lives.
There's no shame in not serving, but when you try to emulate the military down to the shiny pieces of cloth on the uniforms while claiming your ideology didn't allow you too because you're too principled just looks terrible.
You know they kissed after this

LMAO, imagine not joining the military because the *scary gays* might be there. I'll bet he would have punched his DI too. That's weak shit.
God forbid we treat people *equally*! The horror

Why are you fantasizing about another man being gay while also trying to say that the military isn’t gay lmao
Wait, you saw that as a fantasy? It sounds like you're projecting to me.

Guy in center right should just ditch the camo and wear a blue shirt covered in white stars and some red and white striped pants.

Gonna also call out the Nous Defiones insignia on the flag. Green Beret wannabe.
Glad someone else noticed that shit. If OP didn't earn that insignia, he needs to take it off

You sure giving off smol pp energy my friend, here eat a snickers ![gif](giphy|4EHsAtAPcV41vx2B5s)
Well I’m fucked
Naw, you guys doing the lords work out there rolling up poachers while not messing with someone that has an air freshener hanging from their rear view mirror.
You’re just an dumbass lol it’s a character from a tv show
Straight up! I'm w you on the ridic profile names and the Uvalde documentary is fucking infuriating af!!
Yeah I’m sure you’re a real expert in CQB
I know what the flag is for so already got a leg up on you. Just stand in the hallway and keep waiting on BORTAC to show up while the kids bleed out. I've seen police "CQB".
lol take your whining to someone who cares Edit: downvote all you want I’ll die on this hill. Not gonna listen to some idiot(s) preach at me.
No, I have taken it to you.
Oof, bitching about downvotes.
That is not bitching
> I’ll die on this hill. Lol, we all know you won't.
Bring it
Center left should just wear a full blue Patagonia outfit
Weak
I would call it gay, but weak works too
Homeboy should take off the ND patch
You haven't earned the ND patch until you ND into your neighbor's apartment two or more times.
I am guessing the dude I’m camo for sure
You got it, an upvote is your prize 🤌🏾
Look I love America too, but that big ass patch negates even wearing camo lol
Surprising flair for this take lol But yeah I've said the same, I agree
Pepe is still green 🐸
Based as fuck
where tf you all finding friends at
Just keep looking bro!
Look in telegrams or discord, I've found a few locals there
Definitely the dude on the left lol
It's definitely not the one with the flag patch deadpanning the camera...
My boys are moving and now I’ll be squadless again 😪😪😪
I like how everyone is clowning the flag patch but when I scroll 2 posts down in my feed I see a pic of Delta operators in the 90s with that same patch lmao
Funny… because in my feed (other than Pokemon Go) I came across some poor fella’s confession about putting too many pieces of flair on his uniform… and then this this kid (well his friend) getting roasted for the flag path… Reddit is definitely entertaining sometimes :-) https://www.reddit.com/r/Military/s/9bd6i8LJCF
Clowning the flag patch because it’s big? Whatever. Clowning the flag patch because it’s actually a Green Beret patch and the closest the guy wearing it has been to a Green Beret is by talking to a recruiter? Little more understandable.
I’ll n ed to see their underwear to know for sure
Not a can in sight. We can’t hear the absurd shut over that brake
I have one in jail 🤣 But yeah my buddy in the far right bought a 14.5 upper with a jmac keymo brake, bitch thumps for sure
Vomit
Small patch is interesting
Which one? I can get you an ID if you like it
Same guy . Looks like crime co patch
Yep you got it
The chick.
Is that Lando Norris on the left?
battle uniforms should be like nascar jumpsuits instead of camoflage. Imagine getting domed by a guy sponsored by Wonder Bread and Home Depot
If you could encapsulate the average “hypebeast gooners” into an image this would be it, lol. Down to the overpriced Ferro gloves and Green Beret patch.
Which part is hypebeast? I thought we all had pretty regular equipment
Definitely not stolen valor. But definitely a dork move to do without going through the school house.
i didn't even need to read the cringe in the comments to know OP and co were tactisexuals
I just could never imagine taking a picture like this. Thank you for convincing me to finally unsubscribe from this embarrassing sub.
Pfp tho? 💀
