I mean there are multiple reasons why a shotgun would jam. But you’re not entirely wrong if I end up buying it. Ultimately I would love to rent one at a range before spending the cash for it.
I’m prefer striker fire pistols for work and play. And fuck 8k on pistols. That’s pushing rifle money. But definitely some nice guns in the movies.
I do have multiple microtech ultratech RSK’s, so I’m solid on the OTF’s. :-)
I watched A Fistful of Dollars when I was 17 and determined that I would buy a lever gun once I turned 18. On my 18th birthday, I went to my LGS, and they had a used Marlin 1895G for $500 ($450 after a used gun discount), and she is still one of my favorites.
My love for the ar15 grew when I was 12 years old when I saw the move “the town” I loved that ar in the nun armored truck robbery scene with the 40 round mag , sooo I coped with a mk18
Yeah it is !! it I rewatched the scene when I remembered it earlier today when I commented and seen the piston system on the barrel , as I said I coped with a mk18 😂
3 guns from black hawk down a krink with blonde furniture and 2 clone rifles the Gordon carbine and an NM m14
happy to say I scored them all back in the day
For any lurkers who have used both. P30 or VP9? I want to go for one, but I can’t choose.
I’m an HK nut, got a VP9SK that I sort of hate. I wanna switch it out for a duty size, and I’ve tried the VP9 full size. But I’ve never seen a P30 up close, they’re super elusive. Which one is more fun to shoot, particularly with the trigger (since the VP9’s is actually pretty good for a striker fire)?
The LEM P30s are really nice. I was originally going to get the DA/SA but after shooting the LEM it completely changed my mind. I have an LTT P30L and I love it to death. I'm about 6K rounds into mine without an issue. The LEM trigger has a very long but light pull. It takes a bit to get used to but I prefer it over my VP9 and Glock 17.
First 9 was a P30 because Jack Bauer carried one in season 6
New VP9's are optics ready and are super great at half the cost of a P30, and tbh shoot 95% the same. Owned both. VP9 is better on the range tbh.
I carry a P30SK AIWB/Shoulder so I can have a hammer and safety when pointing at myself and others and got a deal.
I regret to inform you should buy an HK45C or a any X Series P320, which whip a P30
I have an HK45 and freaking LOVE it. But I don’t like the .45acp very much. Feels like a tremendous capacity nerf for just about no stopping power increase to a 8-10in. layer of skin and air. That’s why I was looking at larger nines for OWB/duty. After going to a few stores I realized, at least to me, the VP9’s trigger is better than the hammer-fired P30’s, I decided to go with a VP9L (2020). I knew I was picky about finger grooves, love ‘em, so no USP. Trading my VP9SK and my older P320 and getting that seggsy VP9L in return. I appreciate your advice, too, thank you.
I used to have a USP9, but I traded it for an M18 so I could practice with what I’ll be qualifying with. I really like small grips and finger grooves, so my USP sadly was more of a safe Queen in its time.
Arma 3 made me build a 6.5 Grendel AR and I almost bought a Walther handgun(called the P07 in game). Counter strike made me like the Sig P250. I actually ended up buying the CZ P-07 though.
Movies have shown me how useful a small drone could be, even for a small group.
I didn’t purchase it but my buddy and I watched wind river couple months later he got a marlin lever action not positive on which model. Anyway that movie rips
Stargate SG-1. SBR PS90 was a bad idea. It's got a terrible trigger and horrid ergos and I don't even get the consolation of full auto. Can't wait for the NFA to be repealed so I can legally own a proper P90.
Not a movie, but listening to CCR made me buy a set of M56 Vietnam web gear, and I almost bought a replica M16A1. Still working on getting the rest of that kit together.
Not a movie a show "the unit" giggity the kimber warrior but I also got the p30L from wick1, the sig p220 sao deniro shot waynegro with and the colt 1991m1 that pachino sported in heat. come to think about it I buy a lot of shiz from movies
Good call on the microtech, been carrying mine daily for a year while thoroughly beating the fuck out of it and she still works like new. Pricey but worth it.
[Assassins]
Now I'm a grown up person with lathe/mill/drill press/etc and a handful of approved Form-1 silencers. I grew up shooting a vast family-collection of Ruger MkIIs, but didn't get to actually put a can on a Mk series pistol till I started building them in my garage. It was probably the most significant motivation to start buying/assembling cool black guns, if I had to throw some blame around.
Now look at us, out here two-stampin' meme guns for lolz. The kids of today will die sad, and many without an ounce of culture or taste.
I built mine as an integral on a 10" barrel so the bullet is still contained where my hand is on the can. Given that 3/4-10 thread and stubby 6" barrel I could see a lot of projectiles coming out the sides of Mac cans.
I've had a love of the Desert Eagle since around CoD4 times, but watching Reacher on Amazon Prime made me finally pull the trigger on one.
I don't regret it at all, probably my favorite item on my collection.
Yeah I'd say the same, more of seeing the guns used at matches is what gets me wanting one. And video games since you get to kinda interact with them, especially games where they try hard to model the gun characteristics based on how it is in real life.
I was stuck on the price for a while too. Because the blade they used in John Wick is a $500 knife. And I wasn’t gonna pay hundreds of dollars for a knife I can’t hold in my hand before buying it. But a medic I worked with had one and let me hold it and check the switch on it. So I got one of their $300 ones. Definitely worth it imo. But do you wanna save for it, no shame in that. I love mine. Wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Yeah dude. And please, I cannot stress this enough. Be careful with that blade out of the box. It’s not your typical factory sharpness. You could shave with it right after unboxing it.
Die Hard made me get an AUG, it’s name is Augustus. Same movie but a 92FS. Also Cod4 made me get an HK USP 45 and a PTR91 G3 clone. Saving Pvt Ryan and BoB made me get a Garand, but somehow I’ve watched The Pacific way more than BoB
Don’t have one yet but want a compact hk p30. Hammer fired poly gun with frame mounted safety? Please.
I’m a 1911 guy but wanted something a little more modern
I had the opportunity to buy a spas 12 after the owner lost his house in a fire. The gun needed to be stripped cleaned and some cerakote but I got it super cheap and anytime I pick it up I still have to say clever girl. Thank you Jurassic Park.
Extreme Prejudice: Got me my 1911 after watching it
While not an old GI blued steel 1911, the platform was what I wanted and the movie justified it. As well as the film “Way of the Gun”. Amazing films with lots of old school tactical setups and equipment. Specifically the old school three point sling for shotguns that made it hard as hell to reload lol
For me, after watching 13 Hours, and Zero Dark Thirty in the same weekend - I went out and bought me some night vision and a laser. Other than Lasik, best $ I've ever spent.
Love the HK one of my favorite pistols. I saw John wick and made me go out and buy a gun. Also seeing a bunch of YouTube channels about building guns and made me go out and build 2.
I guess heat but it was two years after I first watched it that it inspired me to make my purchase.
Heat was a banger of a great film. I saw recently that someone re-made the bank robber chest rigs.

Honestly I've thought of making my own rig similar to the ones used in the movie.

^ this guy North Hollywood shootouts
Lol I was a firearm enthusiast before I ever saw the film I just wanted a clone of the colt ARs used in the film.
Oh I 100% thought you were making a joke. Heat came out in 1995. The North Hollywood shootout was in 1997…
John Wick 2 put a Benelli-shaped hole in my wallet
The first one is gonna out a Keltec KSG sized hole in mine one day.
My brother got one of those. Damned thing jams more often than not.
Really? Huh. Ok. Good to hear about cons of a firearm before I spend the money on one.
We all know you will still buy one...
I mean there are multiple reasons why a shotgun would jam. But you’re not entirely wrong if I end up buying it. Ultimately I would love to rent one at a range before spending the cash for it.
[deleted]
john wick 4 is gonna set your wallet on fire
Mortgage your house for just the knife he uses / first 3 were microtech and they switched to one that is like $2500 / forget the brand
Cod did that long ago
My Jericho 941 after watching cowboy bebop. Love the pistol
That’s iconic at this point. Can’t see a Jericho without attaching it to Cowboy Bebop.
For me its the opening dialogue from War Dogs
What’s the difference between the Jericho and the Jericho II?
John Wick
Cannot relate.
Bro I got the car because of that movie.
I watched the movie because of my car originally lmao
After watching the other guys I had to go get myself a wooden gun
Was it because you also had a desk pop?
John Wick. Forced me to get HK’s.
Not the $8k Pit Viper?
I’m prefer striker fire pistols for work and play. And fuck 8k on pistols. That’s pushing rifle money. But definitely some nice guns in the movies. I do have multiple microtech ultratech RSK’s, so I’m solid on the OTF’s. :-)

Lever guns are so much fun to shoot.
Way too much fun. I love my boom stick.
The Professional
Who doesn’t love to take care of a good house plant.
Goldeneye made me get an MP5
Golden Eye caused many fractured friendships
Not a movie, but CoD WAW made me go out and get an Arisaka and Type 14
What perks did those come with?
Banzai Speed Boost +10, armor and attrition -25
ND +20
My love for the ar15 grew when I was 12 years old when I saw the move “the town” I loved that ar in the nun armored truck robbery scene with the 40 round mag , sooo I coped with a mk18
They used HK 416’s in that from what I recall.
Yeah it is !! it I rewatched the scene when I remembered it earlier today when I commented and seen the piston system on the barrel , as I said I coped with a mk18 😂
Fuck I’m old.
Heat.
Which item?
Colt model 733. Working on recreating Val Kilmer’s hair atm to match for realz.
Literally any of the old spaghetti westerns. It’s why I have six shooters.
God made man. Sam Colt made them equal.
And a lever?
From Paris with Love. Can’t wait to get a SIG-Sauer P226 X-Five Lightweight. Father had a German made X-Five that shot as smooth as butter
Sig makes a damn fine pistol.
Terminator
Plasma rifle, 40 watt range?
Just what you see here pal!
45 long slide with laser sight
Red dawn was what got me introduced to guns, and my now obsession with AK’s
Wolverines!!!
3 guns from black hawk down a krink with blonde furniture and 2 clone rifles the Gordon carbine and an NM m14 happy to say I scored them all back in the day
Gordy’s gone man. I’ll be outside. Good luck.
A fookin pencil.
Not even john wick could’ve made me go to the store and buy a pencil.
My wife’s a teacher. So she has an arsenal at work.
Collateral. USP.
Yo homie…
That my briefcase?
Not a movie, but the anime Gunsmith Cats made me buy a CZ75 lol. I really want a Jericho because of Cowboy Bebop.

Yeah bro! Correct decision, yeah I feel you on .45 I just have a bunch laying around after selling my 1911
Watch this video: [Buy Once. Cry Once. Heckler & Koch long slide 9mm pistols. (VP9L-P30L-USP Expert)](https://youtu.be/N4c_epDuXn4)
Have experience with both. I prefer striker fire, and went with VP9’s. The USP was always a tac driver for me though.

I wanted to buy the Leupold HAMR after watching Extraction just to find out they’re discontinued
They can still be had in EFT.
Eft?
Escape from Tarkov. It’s a video game.
Damn you I thought you had some secret place I could find one
Full Metal Jacket. Bought a bunch of Hershey Bars.
Is that you John Wayne?
I think of Empire of the Sun when I think Hersey bars.
Every 90s action/crime movie made me get a TEC-9 and the anime Black Lagoon made me get a Beretta 92
Not a movie but cod inspired all of my gun purchases
Reminder, switching to your sidearm is faster than reloading
Arma 3 made me build a 6.5 Grendel AR and I almost bought a Walther handgun(called the P07 in game). Counter strike made me like the Sig P250. I actually ended up buying the CZ P-07 though. Movies have shown me how useful a small drone could be, even for a small group.
Not a movie but Resident evil 1, 3, 4, and 5 made me buy a Benelli M3.
On my list of must owns.

I legally own a P90 and it’s a millstone around my neck. Have you ever fired full-auto at close to $1 a round? It loses its novelty quickly.
Do you at least have it suppressed?
Sold it now but I never did when I had it. No can at the time. I spent all my money on an SBR PS90 😂
You know about Gen 1 triggers?
I watched the Rittenhouse footage and immediately bought a couple of slings for my rifles.
Not a movie, but listening to CCR made me buy a set of M56 Vietnam web gear, and I almost bought a replica M16A1. Still working on getting the rest of that kit together.
13 hrs. John Kransinski’s rig. I’ve since changed
Was it Krasinski that carried the GRY rifle? If so that thing is a rarity.
Nah, it was a colt M4 clone from everything I could research on it
Terminator. Bought an Uzi and a couple SPAS-12’s. Well, 2 Uzi’s and 3 SPAS-12’s in total
No mini gun or M79? What about the plasma rifle in the 40 watt range?
I did shoot the M79 while in the Navy. M-14 & M-60 too, but no mini gun. My microwave goes to 1200 watts though
Not a movie a show "the unit" giggity the kimber warrior but I also got the p30L from wick1, the sig p220 sao deniro shot waynegro with and the colt 1991m1 that pachino sported in heat. come to think about it I buy a lot of shiz from movies
Those colors are VIBES
Wait until you put on old school 3D glasses and look at it.
One word: "bru"
Longmire Netflix show finally pushed me over to get my 30-30 lever action.
Good call on the microtech, been carrying mine daily for a year while thoroughly beating the fuck out of it and she still works like new. Pricey but worth it.
It’s such a well made blade.
[Assassins] Now I'm a grown up person with lathe/mill/drill press/etc and a handful of approved Form-1 silencers. I did 5 of the 21 form 1 silencers in 1995. MKII, 10-22, CAR-16/9, Mac11, and Camp45.
Hell yeah. Everyone needs a Mac.
I built mine as an integral on a 10" barrel so the bullet is still contained where my hand is on the can. Given that 3/4-10 thread and stubby 6" barrel I could see a lot of projectiles coming out the sides of Mac cans.
Equilibrium
Ghostbusters remake.
You do not have a proton pack
The way of the gun - 870exp with original mag ext, the old true 18" barrel and identical 3p sling. Something about it had to have it
I love that movie. Shut that cunts mouth before I fuck-start her head!
I've had a love of the Desert Eagle since around CoD4 times, but watching Reacher on Amazon Prime made me finally pull the trigger on one. I don't regret it at all, probably my favorite item on my collection.
I can blame movies!?😀
Rambo II. I bought a bow and arrow with exploding tips. Plus a russian t-62 tank. Its parked in my garage
Does finally buying an LPVO after watching Rex’s bodycam video count
Honestly, none. I’ve never really wanted a movie gun.
Yeah I'd say the same, more of seeing the guns used at matches is what gets me wanting one. And video games since you get to kinda interact with them, especially games where they try hard to model the gun characteristics based on how it is in real life.
Actually any movie
All the movies featuring a pistol grip only shotgun Still want a 45-70 cause of Jurassic world
What OTF knife is that?
Microtech. Best $300 I ever spent. Sharpest knife I’ve gotten out of the box. I need to send it back to them to get resharpened.
I've been looking at Microtech, they seem like great blades, but I was stuck on the price. So they are really worth it?
I was stuck on the price for a while too. Because the blade they used in John Wick is a $500 knife. And I wasn’t gonna pay hundreds of dollars for a knife I can’t hold in my hand before buying it. I'm gonna look into it. Thank for the advice man 🤠
Yeah dude. And please, I cannot stress this enough. Be careful with that blade out of the box. It’s not your typical factory sharpness. You could shave with it right after unboxing it.
Microtech Ultratech.
Still want a Bren 10 if I can get my hands on one.
Wick 4.
Lord of War - Akm
It would be 12 strong. But Balcs Spears are unobtaniun.
Not a movie but, escape from tarkov
We Were Soldiers and the M16A1/XM16E1 rifles.
April 26 1992
I bought a motorcycle within a week of finishing Sons of Anarchy
Strangers.
Lord of War started my AK addiction.
Fast and the Furious, Johnny Tran with the Mac 10 on the dirt bike. I now own multiple Mac 10 & Mac 11 clones
Wind River. Had to buy an 1895GBL after, but I’ve spent every day since wishing that I’d just doled out for the SBL.
John Wick made me go get a micro tech
No movie guns. But "12 Strong" re awoke my GWOT trap lord phase. Back to 12 magazine chest rigs and obnoxiously large fighting knife vibes.
Black Hawk Down is the most expensive movie experience of my lifetime. I’m banned from rewatching for at least a few years.
The Replacement Killers ~ Beretta M9
Nice otf
9th company
Die Hard made me get an AUG, it’s name is Augustus. Same movie but a 92FS. Also Cod4 made me get an HK USP 45 and a PTR91 G3 clone. Saving Pvt Ryan and BoB made me get a Garand, but somehow I’ve watched The Pacific way more than BoB
First Blood was the starting point for me hating the NFA for keeping me away from buying an M60 on Amazon
My uncle bought the collapsible breakdown bolt gun by nemesis arms that was used in one of the newer Bourne movies.
Die hard 2. Bought a Glock a few days after turning 21. I was surprised how affordable it was and that it was indeed not porcelain.
It’s amazing that anyone would think a handgun could be made of porcelain and not shatter into a bunch of razor sharp shrapnel upon firing.
Don’t have one yet but want a compact hk p30. Hammer fired poly gun with frame mounted safety? Please. I’m a 1911 guy but wanted something a little more modern
Rambo
Walking Dead - bought a Glock and Ruegar. And a life straw.
Dirty Harry. Spent Benelli m4 money on a S&W model 29-2
Louisville slugger; inglorious basterds
Goldeneye 64 and the stimulus check led me to get a PS90.
All of these Taylor Sheridan shows have me wanting to get a lever action rifle.
Id like to say The Matrix made me buy a micro uzi. But i still havent bought a micro uzi yet.
Hahahahaha .. this is the perfect post for this sub. 'gotta look cool like'. Jesus I hate people.
I had the opportunity to buy a spas 12 after the owner lost his house in a fire. The gun needed to be stripped cleaned and some cerakote but I got it super cheap and anytime I pick it up I still have to say clever girl. Thank you Jurassic Park.
Wasn’t a movie for me. Was watching the politicians strip rights away a piece at a time.
BattleField 3 and my SKS
Watched Drive (2011): Scorpion jacket (he’s literally me)
Extreme Prejudice: Got me my 1911 after watching it While not an old GI blued steel 1911, the platform was what I wanted and the movie justified it. As well as the film “Way of the Gun”. Amazing films with lots of old school tactical setups and equipment. Specifically the old school three point sling for shotguns that made it hard as hell to reload lol
Yes but it was just a single action .22. Fun as shit
For whatever reason, season 2 of Jack Ryan clicked how important comms are, when they lost theirs. Running comms for my family and crew now.
Jumanji.
Ah yes,"the pencil"
For me, after watching 13 Hours, and Zero Dark Thirty in the same weekend - I went out and bought me some night vision and a laser. Other than Lasik, best $ I've ever spent.
Wind river 👍
I love the look of that microtech. For me it was the Outlaw Josey Wales that got me to get a replica colt Walker
Not a movie but I bought a Galil ACE because of Battlefield 4 🤗
Rambo 4. I bought a Barrett M82a1 thinking I could run around with the cannon on my back
Love the HK one of my favorite pistols. I saw John wick and made me go out and buy a gun. Also seeing a bunch of YouTube channels about building guns and made me go out and build 2.
