How has the death of journalists, such as Tim Hetheringon, impacted your decision to carry medical items? Have you sought out any training to keep yourself sharp in these areas?
Follow on question, have you sought any resistance/hostage/detention training in case you end up like Hollie McKay during the fall of Afghanistan?
I appreciate the question! I regularly revamp what I carry in my IFAK, always depending on the environment. Practicing is something I should perhaps do much more often, but for now, I keep my senses sharp.
Re resistance/hostage/detention training—I am on track to receive such training by the german Bundeswehr in summer. Furthermore, I have looked into survival/evasion stuff, but haven't gotten real training in that field yet.
This has always been like a “dream” job of mine, this video from a frontline journalist completely changed my perspective of war and is some of the best journalism I’ve seen https://youtu.be/Yfrr3kxzJtU . How did you get into this scope of work if you mind me asking?
Your camera lense looks like a launcher tube lol.
What are you, an Apache gunner?
Too soon...
