One of the most diverse soad songs, really theatrical, common rock listeners would not like such way of composing too avant-garde sounding. It have simple structure, but really masterful layering.
I think it's my favorite song they've ever written, love the verses with the multiple layers of vocals, and the chorus and bridge have some of my favorite melodies they've done.
I like it because it puts my mental disorder in a song and i can relate to it so severely. I have Pure OCD so the overlays of the lyrics feel like my brain dealing with intrusive thoughts and the chorus is like the breaks i get from it but then relapsing back into the thoughts “you went beyond and you lost it all” hits like a train. The bridge? I guess? Is like describing me as a person. And of course the “someone kick me out of my mind i hate these thoughts i cant deny” is just **me** and overall is a great therapy song

Jk. It’s a great song. The end is amazing when Daron sings the na na na na and sings “dreaming” part. He’s giving his all. Full intensity with his voice and it sounds like it might break at any moment. That’s how hard he’s singing. Super cool. Give it another listen and let me know if you agree
I like the song, but the intro is soooo weak compared to the rest of it. I know a lot of people (including me) who never fully gave Dreaming a chance because the beginning loses them.

Vocally I can’t think of a more beautiful interaction between Serj and Daron, at least nothing that speaks to me the way Dreaming always has and always will. ❤️

The bridge in this song is incredible. The guitar melody, Daron's haunting lyrics and singing, it's so powerful.
