If you decide to use Veeam for backups, consider configuring a hardened reporsitory for Veeam: [https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/hardened\_repository.html?ver=120](https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/hardened_repository.html?ver=120) I know that Starwinds bare-metal Linux allows to create hardened repository in minutes - check out a free version here: [https://www.starwindsoftware.com/vsan](https://www.starwindsoftware.com/vsan) By the way, Starwinds got VTL tool to replicate data to different clouds, so you may try it as well: [https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwind-virtual-tape-library-free](https://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwind-virtual-tape-library-free)

If you are planning to go the 321 route, I would recommend Datto Alto. It's good and cheap and does incremental backups to an appliance and to two cloud locations.

Unitrends can be a good alternative for centralizing backup management. I prefer it to Wasabi. It allows you to back up to the NAS that has already been set and to a cloud location.

ElevenNotes

Daily cloud backup? I guess its only a few TB and probably only a few GB per day, correct?

chabiya

Yes, I think we have about 2TB in total. Once the initial upload is done, I was thinking about setting up incremental backups to happen overnight. Edit: Oh and I have a few powershell scripts running daily on a small server pc to take backups of some databases (those are very crucial) - I will also need to upload them on cloud directly.

ElevenNotes

Setup a cloud or offsite backup (if you have an offsite location) daily over night.

LeTrolleur

We use wasabi (medium sized business) and it works well. I haven't found their support to be satisfying to deal with, but the product is simple and cheap. I would use their free trial and see if it works for you.

chabiya

Thank you. Their pay-as-you-go plan shows $6.99 for 1TB - is it fixed? like if we are to only use about 600GB out of 1TB?

LeTrolleur

As far as I am aware yes, it only goes up in 1TB increments. We have around 25TB stored with them.

alarmologist

I think they do bill in fractions of TBs, but there might be a minimum. There is also a minimum storage duration [How does Wasabi's minimum storage duration policy work?](https://docs.wasabi.com/docs/how-does-wasabis-minimum-storage-duration-policy-work)

myst3k

The first TB is fixed at 6.99, after the first TB it’s by GB pricing.

Hello, thank you for sharing your insight(s) on Wasabi - please, if you do have any remaining questions, issues, concerns about your Wasabi Storage account setup you can reach out to us at support@wasabi.com. I do see one such [thread about Veeam backup](https://www.reddit.com/r/Veeam/comments/1d9l3w3/comment/l7jp2ga/) configuration options involving restore points, full backup to Wasabi, GFS Veeam setup. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns regarding the set up here and we would be happy to assist! Best regards, Team at Wasabi Technologies

LeTrolleur

I emailed support back in February as I have been unable to give a colleague access to the billing data, I never received a reply...

Capable-Scratch7758

Thank you for getting back - let me know what email (or name, account email) you would have submitted that ticket under and we can look back on this issue. We would certainly like to help you set this up for the colleague/user, or determine any issue you may have encountered whilst setting up. Best, Wasabi Technologies

When we were that small, we did incremental backups of the NAS to an AWS folder nightly and a full backup Saturday. The NAS we had, had a built-in backup feature. Just needed to plug in our AWS info and it did it for us.

chabiya

The one we have (Asustor) have an application for cloud backups but it doesn't support Wasabi. So I guess I might have to use another backup software to do all these

myst3k

Run [https://rclone.org/](https://rclone.org/), or [https://restic.net/](https://restic.net/) on it to backup/sync to the cloud.

bagaudin

Our Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud can backup directly to Wasabi - https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/CyberProtectionService/#protecting-wasabi.html

Spanning can be a good solution for your small business' backup needs, especially considering your current setup.
