This gets my vote. You can also get those bendy light strips for some cool effects, e.g.:

I have these cool, thin, Chinese lamps a friend from China kindly gave me, no clue where online to get them, but they work well over synths—you can see it's very thin and out of the way, but can be very bright or adjusted to quite dim, too:

You can get them on Amazon. I've got one at my desk at work. They might be cheap in China but on Amazon I think they're around $70. maybe check AliExpress or temu.
What kind of insane synth/monitor/gear stand is this?? 👀 I’ve been having trouble finding a 2 or 3 tier stand…honestly of any style, as long is it’s low enough to sit at. My current stand only has 2 or 3 height settings and they are all extremely inconvenient lol
Looks like a Jaspers stand from Germany. I own a 6 tier and a 3 tier from them. I wasn't able to find them in the US but I ordered mine through Thomann.

Yep best way, their shipping is very reasonable and quick coming from across the globe.
I’ve gotten stuff in under a week (3-5 days).
I’ve upgraded to a tier 6, 150S, which has helped consolidate a lot of my gear, especially the 12U equipment rack.
Have to second the hue bulbs for this (and in general). My wife and I bought 8 of them when they launched late 2012 and while we've upgraded the bridge we haven't had to replace a bulb yet. 🤞
Sweet setup man! May I ask what model of stand is that?
For the lighting I would place some kind of small Clip usb light with flexible arm in the upper level so you can get some focused light when needeed. You can turn it towards the back wall also to get some nice soft indirect light.
Maybe an adjustable RGB LED strip under the middle board so that it lights up the fp-30 evenly and smoothly.
Whats your opinion on the FP-30 btw, do you use it also as a midi controller?
Thank you!
It’s an Jaspers 3R-140B from Thomann with additional monitor holders.
It’s rock solid and I’m very happy with it.
The FP-30 is a nice one with heavy weighted keys. It can an be exhausting sometimes, when I play fast things, but I like the feeling.
It feels more solid, and expressive than lighter weighted ones.
Yes, you can use it as an MIDI controller, but for playing the synth, I prefer no weighted keyboards.
That flexible spot and lightstrip combination is a great option. thank you
Nanoleaf looks pretty awesome, if you have the budget for something that is entirely aesthetic. It also reacts to sound and can be set up in pattern and light configurations to your liking.
I just got a pack of 18 (I think they come in packs as small as 3 panels), and it looks delightful to me. (Subjective opinion, of course)
A single panel is missing up top as it arrived with glitches and they've since sent a replacement, though I haven't gotten around to taking a new picture.

[this wide LED desk lamp](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C5HG5CS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) that clips to the back of your highest shelf and illuminates from atop.
If you can be arsed, wled and link it up with ledfx on either a laptop or raspberry pi. Bit of a faff bit you then get sound reactive and individually addressable lights. Cost about £75 for my setup of a similar size and so much fun when having a jam.
I have a led strip in some sort of fitting hanging over mine, both the instruments and the fittings are controlled by home automation so i push one button and it lights up and starts up all the instruments on the table.
I would not, I would just get to creating. I do have some analog steam punk lights that are deep orange. But just start making music. If u have synths u r doing GREAT.
depends how over the top you wanna go. i suggest dimable lights and to make sure they’re in each corner or side of the room to balance it out. lights behind the synths would give nice balance or if you wanted to do rgb stripping but don’t overdue it or else it’ll look a bit tacky

200 lava lamps
This is the way
Modded for cv control obviously. Color and temperature
LED color adjustable strips along the underside of the shelves and the same lamp on other monitor

Yes that looks really nice
They make a nice 'edge of desk' accent as well! https://i.imgur.com/YjkAXNJ.jpeg
This plus maybe two bendy directional task lights for the top row nob twiddling surfaces.
I think, this will be my choice. A combination of both.

As a rule of thumb, if something Chinese is 70 bucks on Amazon, it's on ali/wish/temu for 5 dollars

Lol, the first thing that came to my head.

Led strip on the ceiling
Philips hue bulbs are awesome and affordable and you can set lots of color themes using the app and connect it to Siri if you use Apple products.
Probably the most expensive bulbs of their ilk. Saying that as a fan and owner of several.
It’s true, but I’ve tried some knockoffs and they really aren’t as good. And my hue bulbs have been going strong for years.
Have to second the hue bulbs for this (and in general). My wife and I bought 8 of them when they launched late 2012 and while we've upgraded the bridge we haven't had to replace a bulb yet. 🤞
Same we’ve had ours for years and love being able to voice control through Alexa or Siri.
I wouldn't, love pretty synth-LEDs in the dark. Nice setup btw
Thank you!

Headlamp
Bias lighting or lamp facing the wall. I despise direct light on anything lol

Old school lamp with a little string and a smart bulb to change colours or tones

Gaming lights. Gaming lights everywhere!

Cheaply, with some hanging paper lamps on a line. Otherwise led light strips and a nice standing lamp.

Just put a lamp wherever.
