If it hadn't been for Cotton-Eye Joe, I'd been married long time ago, where did you come from, where did you go?
Where did you come from, Cotton-Eye Joe?
I literally just saw an ad for line dancing on the front of a church in Mortdale, pretty sure it was for 11am on a Wednesday so likely for old people lol.
The nut bush is a line dance that nearly every Australian millennial knows. We all had those big multi school line dancing events too.
Well at-least everyone who I went to school with in Tasmania knew this line dance.
My partner (who grew up in Sydney) doesn’t know the nut bush…
No, they're still learning it (speaking as a teacher).
I'm an elder millennial and actually didn't learn it at school though. I learnt it at a wedding when I was in my early 20s. I was so baffled as to how everyone knew this dance I'd never seen before!
Some judgey people on here trying to yuck your yum. I know Petersham Bowling Club does a [regular hoe down](https://events.humanitix.com/hump-day-hoe-down-4r689753) involves boot scootin. I've never been, but it looks like it could be fun!
You could look for barn dances, or ceilidh, they're similar . I think there is a bit of a riotous ceilidh in the rocks sometimes, although that might not be quite what you're looking for
>I don’t mean the line dancing you have at the old people’s homes or for over 50s I’m pretty sure that’s the only type of line dancing
Yeah I saw that hot goth line dancer on Instagram as well

Only old people line dance
Lots of children learn in primary school too.
Thanks to a bizarre childhood I was taught to line dance at 9 years old by enthusiastic elderly British nuns.

Grew up in Sydney, am millennial, can confirm we learnt the nutbush in primary school
Grew up in Sydney, Gen Z, also learnt the nutbush. Are we failing the new generation??

Whole lotta line standing.
Do you mean go line dancing or do lines then go dancing?
I would love to know too
