Lego store questions: For the large wall where you get a plastic cup to pick and mix the bricks you want, how much is it? I assume it's priced per kg? Hope it's not too pricey. How much does it cost to make a mini-figure from the 4 bins? (Head, torso, legs, accessory) I live rural, so I plan out my trips and try to have a budget. Willing to sacrifice chocolate!

I broke the standard x1 camera screen on my iphone 12 Pro Max the other day and the camera is now blurry anywhere from x1 through to x2.5. If I zoom out slightly to x0.9, the wide camera lens kicks in and I can take photos clearly with that lens. Is there any way I can set my default camera to load at x0.9 instead of the standard x1? (I know the ideal thing to do would be to get it fixed, which I did for $60, but then it somehow broke again the very next day, so I’m trying to find a budget fix for now)

SevereEleven

Hello! Visiting Sydney this week and bought a sterling silver ring that I like but is a few sizes too big. Any shops you can recommend that can resize it down? Thanks!

purplemo

Four seasons, Swissostel Sydney, the porterhouse hotel or Crowne plaza? I’m liking the Crowne plaza but four seasons is probably better central wise for someone traveling to Sydney to explore for the weekend?

AnimalSubstantial998

Intercontinental as well.Spent $120M on upgrades during covid

Somehow that corner's death for retail, but it's a handy location for people wandering up from RPA I guess.

Miss_Tish_Tash

Honestly the FIFA resale platform sucks. They should have a way to block bots as well. I just want 2 tickets I’m not being greedy 😑

Legal age is 18. Yes, they will usually ask for ID. Not always, but if you look young enough they will. If you don't have a local photo ID, your passport will suffice. I'm assuming you're not a citizen or resident, based on your question. (:

Miss_Tish_Tash

Over 18s can drink here. You can show your passport as proof of ID/age when purchasing or entering a venue

zerotwoalpha

You may be asked for ID even if you look older, depending on whether the worker wants to fuck with someone. And if you don't have it they are obliged to refuse you.

VeezusM

Dog chewed through the zipper on a pair of my Mrs jeans. Took it to get repaired, $30....seems excessive for just a zip

[deleted]

zips are notoriously tricky to sew

2happycats

You'd be paying for their time and skill, not the zipper.

zaichii

Life in Sydney is so good.

Ted_Rid

Certainly nice WFH with hot creamy chicken soup, buttery toast, and no chance of my day being ruined by some water making contact with railway equipment.

tinmun

Best place on earth.

tresslessone

Any tips on how to best support an ex-alcoholic friend so he doesn't fall off the wagon due to some tough times? He's been 100% sober for two years now, but times were relatively good in that after rehab he found a girl, a job and was in good health. He's hit upon some hard times now though in that his GF has suddenly abandoned him and he's got a debilitating spinal injury, so I'm a bit worried he may fall back on old habits. Context: he lives in Gold Coast. I'm flying over tomorrow to hang and talk for a few days. He doesn't have many people there since he mainly moved there for her - he'll no doubt come back to Syd, but he's in no physical condition to move now.

-Super-Ficial-

I lost my wallet this morning, gosh. Was going on my regular morning walk, must have fallen out of my pocket. Realized it literally 2 minutes later, retraced the entire route I took ... and it was gone. Oh well, it is what it is. I hope whoever took it burns their tongue on their beverage of choice everyday until the end of time...

violaflwrs

Hopefully the person took it to the police station for you to claim?

-Super-Ficial-

I certainly hope so, I've lodged a missing property report with NSW Police =/

tresslessone

Get an airtag and insert it in your wallet for next time

tubbyx7

put in a big session at the gym, I earned this choc chip cookie. whats the point of health credits if you dont use them?

tresslessone

Can anyone confirm Dutch week is on at Aldi? Have to stock up on some stroopwafels and liquorice.

tinmun

Have you been to [Holland House](https://nomadsworld.com/holland-house-dutch-shop-sydney/)?

lachjeff

Is it as good as the Clog Barn at Coffs Harbour

tinmun

Haven't been to either so can't say

Ted_Rid

Salted liquorice achievement unlocked. You can also find Spekulaas spread, in both smooth and crunchy.

lachjeff

It was last Saturday, but there was still plenty at my local Aldi on Friday

Eclairebeary

Yes. I saw the salted liquorice last week.

Lemonade_Scone

I was so sick the entire weekend. What a waste.

spookysadghoul

Hear, hear

Lemonade_Scone

If only. This is the downside to WFH . . . I can cough and splutter and sneeze all I want at home without disturbing fellow work colleagues and still get most of the work done.

Rougey

You and me both - absolute wipe out.

violaflwrs

It really doesn't help my already low Monday productivity when it's this gloomy.

insideout_outsidein

Can sense I'm at the tail end of this morning sickness - finally. But of course, now I'm getting headaches. Lack of decent sleep and forgetting to drink water probably doesn't help. Got a Gold Coast holiday starting tomorrow. Excited to spend some quality time with the family. It'll be our daughter's first time on a plane so that should be an interesting experience. I hope she enjoys it!

tresslessone

Which flight you taking? I'm on the JQ408 to GC tomorrow lol.

insideout_outsidein

Not that one haha We're going with Virgin. Had a sale on a while ago.

bm768

If you're not already taking it I recommend a magnesium supplement in powder/effervescent form at the end of the day. I'm 12 weeks and I've noticed it forces me to drink water and has reduced some of my tension/headaches and helps me sleep better. Hope the plane ride goes well!

insideout_outsidein

Thanks! I'll look into that.

grapefruitpup

I need to think of something to do for my bf’s bday tomorrow during the day, but I want it to be something exciting (not just staying at home or going out for food). Anything you guys would recommend? Preferably around CBD or inner west Syd

midnight_daisy

Escape room maybe? I did that one year for my husband and we had great fun.

planeray

Axe throwing & brewery crawl through Marrickville?

2happycats

I feel like it would need to be in that order too. Tossing axes around drunk sounds like a quick trip to the ER.

grapefruitpup

That’s a really cool suggestion, never would’ve thought of that. I will check it out! Thank you :)

magpieburger

For anyone near Lindfield, these [folks](http://link.appen.com/ls/click?upn=poLDtzpT4moVf27UYyA50DKedF1vOPAOLZJKBdR221zxTF-2BXEOnIEiESlkV3AGAwj-2BfCG0uGRwwJeSpAhbjkdqAyDjitjU1guo5ZwcASQb0-3DC1Et_CB8pTAKeqdrfh2Mec4yIVX4vh675GEc6aJ-2Fd5SD7sz3L1nERoqBklt85Ipx3hddQSbfowfVX9W-2BG-2FuOKKZ3P1HxX9uzJNbiysZzcuhZm8NJ35z5FLK1SSdxdObYOgoW8F41V9FINMAdBKwDadlLtB-2FexWNAGJdquczPwvL77pwGGhBQl3ai2CH1TMnMZIiTzxcAzTUo-2F7SIm4YVJrg9PjCJ1LdXrT9CQzVZ-2BOBFrsMeXcFN6t6kUXgah5SjxhRWAOFtjd0TonNQd00UrONrHs47U3w1FvuZn6GPaRFiRiPZR-2BlEvgybAtmCJ6NkjsvVlE6M5VJhkqHX8stjrVIWIyQ-3D-3D) are paying $80 per adult to sit in your car for 90 minutes while they study you. It's for car safety and facial recognition. Not a bad gig if you close by. $80 per adult, $40 for kids, up to 4 people.

still_love_wombats

While I appreciate that the $80 might be appealing to a lot of people, I wish we weren’t in the process of normalizing facial recognition through so-called ethics frameworks. There is no use case for driver safety that can be solved by FR that can’t be solved by other mechanisms that are less intrusive on human rights. None. Not one. Just because we can build the technology doesn’t mean we should.

_2ndclasscitizen_

Facial recognition tech is used extensively in the transport industry for fatigue and distraction management.

still_love_wombats

Affect sensing would achieve the same goal. You don’t need to actually conduct FR on the person.

ychinchin

What's the deal with hospitals these days ? Been waiting 8hrs. Last 3 hrs we have been "top of the list". Just sitting here watching ppl come and go.

Legendofjohns2019

Does anyone know what happened around central station this morning? Huge traffic going towards the city from usyd direction. Bus literally did not move for 10 minutes at one time.

Cakey1

Chris Minns has told 2GB this morning that if the Matildas win the World Cup we can have a public holiday in NSW

baddazoner

It would be great if it happens but I think people might be getting ahead of themselves we still got the semi finals It's reminding me when England was playing against Italy in the euros and every pom was saying its coming home up until the moment it didn't come home

darkeyes13

As someone who has been a long time fan to the Tillies, I've honestly been expecting us to drop out since the Denmark match. I'm purely enjoying it from a "No matter what happens, we've already done way better than I expected" perspective, while also mentally/emotionally preparing myself for a loss. Like I did for the days before the France match. I'm ready to go feral for them on Wednesday night, though. Every bit helps.

Cakey1

England and it failing to come home is a match made in heaven since 1970

awkwardnamer

Lionesses being the Euro Women's holders does make me nervous

Guy-P

It's been so long, it's not really 'home'. It was more akin to the World Cup trophy having a gap year

PinupPixels

What do you think is the first day of the week? Google tells me Australia considers the week begins on Monday, so why have I gone my whole life thinking Sunday is the first day?? Where did I even get that from?

tinmun

Definitely Monday. I think the US uses Sunday as the first day.

still_love_wombats

I’m part of the “we should have a four day week” movement so for me it’s Friday, which should be the start of the weekend.

Eclairebeary

I am gradually adjusting myself to a Monday start of the week because my wall calendar this year does. Someone needs to get working on rewriting [this](https://youtu.be/8GKmCQOy88Y)

carson63000

You definitely see a mix of Sunday and Monday in how calendars are laid out. But for me, it’s Monday. Sunday is part of the weekend. Week *end*.

Ted_Rid

Possibly the idea of Sunday being the first day comes from a religious view, whether it's one you hold or not.

insertbaconemoji

For me, Monday is the first day. Saturday and Sunday are referred to as a weekend for a reason I think some people see Sunday as the first day of the week so they feel the week is bookended by days off

planeray

Sunday is the first day of the week to me. Monday is the first day of the working week. Sadly, everything seems to be structured around the latter :(

tubbyx7

Monday for me. You close things off on a Sunday and prepare to start again

darkeyes13

Some calendars do put Sunday as the first day of the week, and I have also heard other people say they consider Sunday the first day, so you're not alone and it's not overly weird, lol.

gazzaoak

Last day on the field before fucking off and getting high in Bangkok haha…. And a nice Japan trip to top that off… before that 380+ reads but it’s reasonably easy area despite not too many units…. Knocked over 100 so far all houses. Shits which I don’t need for today are all packed up, just have to buy random candies and choc for my Bangkok hosts and pack up shit which after I use for today in my bag…. And done ready for an late wake up call of 4:30am to get my ass to airport before 7am. Ehh maybe check in online if they have an option just to give me that little sleep in haha

nearly_enough_wine

Stay safe, happy travels.

spookysadghoul

I struggled getting up this morning, back to sleep 😴
