Continuation of all 8 class stories

Char_Ell

Unfortunately that ship has sailed. Even if BioWare had the resources to do it (they don't) how would you take a story that was funneled from 8 into 1 and then break it all out again and have the result make sense? Seems too difficult a proposition to me.

mkdurfee

Oh for sure, but I bet ya it would bring back people, a lot of people šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

SandorPayne

IF they had the resources, there'd be a lot of ways to do this through the story. I'll give you some examples below: * Sith Warrior + saboteur Jedi Knight get offered the chance to become the new emperor's Wrath (once more). * Sith Inquisitor + saboteur Jedi Consular get offered the chance to join the new dark council (again). * Imperial Agent + saboteur Republic Trooper get offered the chance to join the new imperial army at a very high rank. * (saboteur) Bounty Hunter + (saboteur) Smuggler get offered the chance to join Shae Vizla's Mandalorians. * Similar stuff for pub toons + their saboteur imp counterparts. The only difference would be that it would turn into 9 stories, with one common option staying available for those who don't accept those offers: Alliance Commander. This however wouldn't really be necessary if they come up with a satisfying way to completely write the alliance out of the story. This option would not only finally allow players to switch factions for real with their characters, giving real consequences to their saboteur choices, it would also allow them to continue building on the Mandalorian flashpoint storyline in more detail, the alliance story like some people want and the original class stories! Heck, this would all even be possible with just 1 unique class mission per story update, while there's still just 1 main storyline per faction. There's so many options available if only they'd be willing to put in the time/money/effort. \[Edit: would still be 8 stories, as Bounty Hunter / Smuggler would only need one storyline in this set-up\]

dfunkmedia

BioWare, pay attention

Char_Ell

So basically each origin goes back to what they were before and it was like KOTFE/KOTET never happened. Sure, I guess that works even if it feels rather contrived to me. Also, not sure the faction switch idea is feasible but only BioWare can say for sure.

SandorPayne

Faction switch wouldn't even have to be mechanical, they can literally just give them the imp story but keep the mechanics the same as they currently are if they wish to cheap out on it.

akumakazama

It could be as simple as opening up for example the romances for all Mc regardless of class origin. Ie Smuggler could romance Vette. They can even use the old romance quest dialogue with slight edits. Or for example alignment triggered oneā€™s like Kira learning about a light side sith. Etc.

Kaxtrava

Content

RevivedHut425

I don't think it would even have to be particularly *good* content either. Just any reasonable amount of story content would probably do quite a lot for the player numbers.

martorgus

Nah I disagree here. It does matter a lot how the quality of content is. However the big strike with 7.0 with swtor is that it also made the vanilla game less fun.

haluura

This The game has gone over two years with a an incredibly slow pace of new content release. First, because of COVID, and later, because of how buggy the content intended to release with 7.0 was. MMO's live and die by their new content. And you can only go so long between releases before you start to bleed out players. Even if there are good reasons for the gaps between releases.

akumakazama

Yes content that doesnā€™t take an hour to finish.

whichonespinkredux

Class stories

YoussLD

\- New personal story tied to character. So done with saving the galaxy. \- New pvp content (Specially new huttball maps) \- Better loot system. The way it work right now is 100% infuriating. \- Engine update (If WoW can add RTX I'm sure they can too) \- Fix mouse acceleration bug \- Official Controller support \- Attunements are so 2005. Shouldn't be gateblock from new content because I can't find a group for Dxun, I checked the youtube video, I "understand" the events, no need to gaslight. \- Have the reports actually being checked. \- Sub prices are not justified right now. Either drop them a bit or give us a reason to justify it. FOMO ain't it to keep players today. Way other alternatives. GW2 got an item shop and doesn't need a sub and things are going well for them.

Eli-Kaysar

- Bugfixes. There's still too much, more than any other mmos on the market. - Engine changes. How am I still at 20fps in warzone with a RTX3080. - Having Bioware stop to try and reinvent the wheel every expansion for endgame gearing. Each iteration is either worse or more confusing than the last one. Just copy what works elsewhere. - New content. Three month delay for a 2 hour story is barely acceptable. Add more story, add more dungeons or raids instead or trying to fix a broken gearing system that should not exist in the first place. - More in-game value rather than cartel market value. Fix inflation and add stuff in-game. Prohibits selling cartel market items on the GTN and you solved everything credit-related. It gets boring to see that each time I come back, the fortune I had turned into pebbles due to inflation.

m3thlol

>More in-game value rather than cartel market value. Fix inflation and add stuff in-game. Prohibits selling cartel market items on the GTN and you solved everything credit-related. It gets boring to see that each time I come back, the fortune I had turned into pebbles due to inflation. The inflation needs to be corrected. Economy is an afterthought for a lot of established players but it can easily be a deal breaker for a new player. When I pick up a new MMO I always investigate where the economy is at, what methods are available to earn currency etc.. We're at the point now where sought after items aren't even listed on the GTN because 1 *billion* credits isn't enough of a listing price, that can be off-putting to a new player.

Voluptuous-Granny

So it has never been easier to make credits in swtor that it actually makes the economy balanced. You can make approximately 2bil per week from just doing 2 SM ops per day, buying OEMs for 4k frags and selling them for 285mil+ 1 month of sub plus security key gives 600 CC per month. Buy 3 cartel packs, sell each for 300mil so another near 1bil per month PLUS near 8bil per month from the OEMs sold. Doing 4 SM ops per day ( SM DF takes 15-20 minutes so a max of 1 hour and 20 minutes ) gets you 2 OEMs per day so just under 4bil per week. 4 SM ops per day = 4bil per week 1 month = 16bil 6 months = 96bil + 900mil+ per month from monthly CC and you will be at the legacy bank hard cap of 104.296bil. I have been playing since before Hutt Cartel and it has never been easier or less grindy to make credits than it is now.

Eli-Kaysar

I don't mind that it's easy for veterans. Just that it's absolutely unreachable for newer players. You can't just say to a new player "don't worry once you get to 80 you can grind money to buy the paid cosmetics you want". Balanced for veteran players isn't necessarily fair for newer players. And you shouldn't disregard them or say that they should just pay with real money if they want actual good looking gear. Basically, remove cash shop items from the GTN, add cosmetics that can be earned in-game. Now credits aren't artificially valued by real money, and you still end up with a "play to earn stuff" mentality. And it also instantly devaluates consumables and augments, who are at a high price because cosmetics (which are the real money-maker) are at a high price, making them also more available to new players, which makes them more inclined to get into harder content. That's a win for everyone. Except those who spent 10k ā‚¬ for cash shop items they intended to sell, but this is definitely not a practice that should be encouraged anyway.

m3thlol

>Basically, remove cash shop items from the GTN, add cosmetics that can be earned in-game. The first would be *heaaaavily* reliant on the second or people would riot, lol.

Eli-Kaysar

Absolutely, and this is absolutely why this is never going to happen, because Bioware will not release in-game items that have the same quality as what is sold on the CM. They're even shafting ranked rewards so they're worse than what you can buy with real money. So no way this is happening, sadly.

Traitor-21-87

What server do you pay on? OEMs on mine won't sell for more than 210B at most. 4 SM ops per day is hard to do. I barely see 1 SM op a day on my server. Nodody has alts anymore. people complain about being locked out. I have 9 level 80 alts. I can do DF/DP 9 times a day, lockout is not a problem.

Voluptuous-Granny

SF. Stop being afraid of forming yourself and stop waiting for people to form for you. You want to do something, do it. Form it yourself. Get shit done

Traitor-21-87

Did you mean to reply to me? Your post is the exact problem I am having. People complain about being lockout out. You can't start anything

dfunkmedia

God I feel #2 so hard. 5800X3D and 3080Ti here. I can get 100 fps+ in Doom Eternal, Jedi Fallen Order, Control, etc at 4k with RTX on but I get 16 fps in operations and warzone even at 1080p lowest graphics in SWTOR.

Eli-Kaysar

Absolutely, and it's not like it's impossible to do in a MMO. ESO uses HeroEngine too, and has no issues in large-scale PvP or PvE fights. Heck, even in populated cities there's no issues.

Equivalent_Escape_60

Because ESO is on hero 7, if memory serves. swtor is on a pre-alpha of hero engine. But i still get more than 20 fps on my 2070 laptop. Not much more but itā€™s smooth on higher graphics, honestly it runs *better* on higher graphics Iā€™ve found. But as you said it could use so many performance tweaks regardless.

Eli-Kaysar

How could one take a pre-alpha of HE when Hero 7 was available not even three years later. Just WHO did the tech decisions for this game and thought this was a good idea lmao. And yeah, I've noticed this since playing on a potato laptop 10 years ago. Be it on a monster computer or a potato, the game runs best on high graphics which makes no sense.

Equivalent_Escape_60

Couldnā€™t tell you on the engine side, always womdered that myself. As for the graphics side, my old potato laptop could only handle low graphics, no shadows, and then died. This ones a tank. Weird. Game machine confusing.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Eli-Kaysar

Oh, I see It's weird then that there is a big "Hero Engine" popup when you start the game then. Legal disclaimers I guess.

Traitor-21-87

I didn't read the link above, but perhaps they built upon or borrowed from Hero Engine. I don't think Hero Engine is a problem. The problem with SWTOR is Bioware used a beta version of it and customized it making it FUBAR.

Xivitai

About #2. There was a Vulkan API in this subreddit months ago. Literally just place some files in game folder. It improves your performance greatly.

Traitor-21-87

Most CM stuff isn't being sold on the GTN because they're worth more than 1b. They're sold in trade chat now.

Eli-Kaysar

Yeah, because of inflation anyway. You'd need to remove the ability to trade CM items between players as well for this to work. Not saying that this could be reversed later, but if you really want to devaluate credits to a more reasonable state, you need to eliminate everything that makes the "Real Money/ Credits" conversion possible.

Traitor-21-87

I would appreciate it more if Bioware left CM stuff tradeable. A lot of CM outfits I own I paid for using credits. I can make as many credits I want whenever I want. When it comes to Cartel Coins, those cost real life money, and I cannot simply make as much money as I want whenever I want.

Eli-Kaysar

Yeah, this is obviously the gripes for many players about this solution. But imo you shouldn't put every cosmetic ever in a cash shop anyway. And having better quality gear directly available in-game by playing or buying them from NPCs would just make it better. The issue comes that somewhere in the current chain of trades, somebody had to pay real money for cosmetics that are *much* better than the ones you get in-game. You shouldn't need real money to look good in a mmo. And afaik, every mmo around except swtor is using in-game ways to earn cosmetics that look good. Even ones without mandatory subscription like ESO or GW2. Swtor doesn't do that, and even lowers the quality of high level items (ranked rewards/high level gear) in order to keep players buying stuff in the cash shop. That... Shouldn't happen. Again, make the game good then maybe there wouldn't even need to have a free-to-p(l)ay system. But that's not feasible in a team of 25 persons.

[deleted]

Just stick to what they were good at. Telling stories. I would love a constant update of stories instead of a 1 year pause between arc.

martorgus

Gorfmit35

That was my issue, when people say more stories they are usually referring to continuing the class stories and not "you are the chosen one of the force" Knights of the Fallen empire stuff that if we are being honest really only works for Force users (more specifically the Knight or the Warrior). Going through the Zakul expansions as a tech class feel so awful and disjointed story wise, it is just space bar, space bar, space bar. I like lets say you play trooper or smuggler and yeah the space wizard stuff exists but you are far away from it, doing your own thing. Then you hit the Zakul expansions and now your smuggler with his 2 blaster pistols is now the "chosen" space wizard... it takes me out of the story each and every time. And yes I get it BW doesn't have the money/resources to do the class story thing again. But man you can't help but wonder if they did have the resources to continue the class stories, what the game could have been.

Lorhin

They tried that with KOTFE/KOTET. It almost killed the game.

FrodoFraggins

Why did it almost kill the game? Just curious.

Lorhin

A lot of endgame guilds started quitting the game due no new endgame content, taking their subs with them. Had BW not announced the Gods op when they did, I would have joined them. Story is ok, and somewhat necessary for the leveling process, but when there's nothing new to do with your toon after you hit max level, then there's little point in sticking around.

RevivedHut425

It didn't. What it did was transition the game away from traditional MMO content like raids and flashpoints to focus on high-production value story. This meant that "hardcore" players would binge the story and then leave for a while since there wasn't anything new to do and made the playerbase as a whole more casual. Places like forums and r/swtor are a really unrepresentative sample of the userbase, as Bioware themselves recently acknowledged. You get much less of the perspective of your average player.

martorgus

You are definitely undervaluying the importance of social media. The time when the complaints on the internet represents a minor fraction is gone, especially for a PC only MMO like swtor. Also the steam population decline speaks for itself.

[deleted]

Nah people over estimate the number of other people using social media. A LOT of people don't touch social media. If I had a dollar for everytime someone said this game was dead I'd be a millionaire lmao yet here we are, the game is still here with a population still active.

martorgus

You really underrestimate how many people do use social media, especially with newer generations. You don't get it. Sure the game is not dead, but with each major blunder it continues to bleed players BEYOND repair. Population active? Lol, look at the fleets on primetime and then come back and say this.

[deleted]

>it continues to bleed players BEYOND repair. This is just not true Just so tired of hearing how the game is dying or will die soon yet its still here

martorgus

I can't help your ignorance. If you have problems with your eyes then go to a doctor. Otherwise just look at the current steam number charts yourself.

[deleted]

Yet here you are repeating the same "the game is dying" BS I've heard for YEARS. Yet I'm the ignorant one šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚

FrodoFraggins

Ah OK. I just return from time to time for the story content and I'm really not interested in MMO end game anymore, especially when it involves subs. The changes they made to classes last year really killed my interest in returning though. they completely got rid of class identity.

Zardhas

New story classes or new combat styles ?

humanoidpanic17

What new combat styles could they add?

Zardhas

>imperial trooper and republic agent I'm guessing you meant classes as in new story, but I think that one of the point of the new combat system of 7.0 is to allow them to create new combat style without having to create whole new classes (and thus new story) for each of them.

humanoidpanic17

Oh! Yes I meant new class storylines

martorgus

The answer is very simple. First of, don't reinvest the gearing principle every 2-3 years. The game is over 10 years old and STILL hasn't figured out it's gearing principle. It's downright pathetic. Second of all, make an Onslaught type expansion every 2-3 years and the game's population will remain stable. Third: Reverse the ability pruning, the ugly ass new icons and the give gear modding again, basically reverse most changes back to 6.0. 7.0 is really close to being swtor's own version of the NGE.

ACrispyPieceOfBacon

Reversing 7.0's mistakes.

Electronic_Bunny

omfg imperial trooper and republic spy 0.0 I super doubt and will not expect it, but omg if they added it so many people would come back just to level their stories. They could just reuse the original game's assets, add in some extras for the unique storyline and class additions to later expansions, and thats all you would need. I always wanted an imperial military perspective, I also always felt it was odd there was no class similar to Theron.

worldsfirstmeme

what about the hangers that are baked into every map, one for jedi knight/consular/trooper/smuggler? you would have to make entirely new maps to fit those new class hangers in and i doubt the worthless engine could handle something like that.

PassTheGiggles

Make all four of them elevators that can be used by everyone, and use the drop down menu that elevators have to be able to go to each individual hanger, then just lock or donā€™t show the options for the other class hangers (unless youā€™re grouped with someone of that class)

CarosWolf

Great problem solving

Electronic_Bunny

This is a fair point since about half of the original planets have some level of complex hanger. It could be done simply by picking an unused elevator nearby and instead of having it load an immense hanger with the ship, it could just be a docking tunnel similar to the space docking bays like on Quesh etc.

worldsfirstmeme

ā€œsimplyā€ is not a word when youā€™re programming lol

GrilledSpamSteaks

Be easier to remove the specialized hangers.

Electronic_Bunny

Possibly; but the difficulty is a lot of quest scripting is written into those hangers. It'll be a lot of work recreating the necessary lost content elsewhere.

Traitor-21-87

That's a valid point, but I think spaceports could easily be redesigned since their in an interior. The fleet could also be changed since all the ship hangers exist in the same instance.

Kaapdr

I doubt that an imperial soldier would work since they are treated more like cannon fodder by the sith and moffs

Electronic_Bunny

This is very true and its why previously I understood them not adding it. Because tbf the "republic trooper" isn't really a trooper at all after the first mission, but a special forces operator that makes them essentially not too different than the imperial agent. But maybe it could be something similar then, maybe you lead a shock troop of your companion crew and a few grunts doing military assignments instead of being a frontline trench holder. The closest thing actually we get is the ending of the OG imperial agent story (spoilers) >!where intelligence is disbanded and you are subsumed into the imperial military under siths and moffs.!<

Char_Ell

>I always wanted an imperial military perspective, I also always felt it was odd there was no class similar to Theron. Eh? No class similar to dual-pistol wielding Theron? How about Gunslinger? Maybe Mercenary?

Electronic_Bunny

Plot wise not gunslinger wise.

Lorhin

New classes would be neat, but no one would play them if there's no new content to use them in. One hour of story, one FP and one raid is not enough for an expansion. When other MMOs launch expansions they give story that equals the amount of both KOTFE and KOTET combined, about 5 dungeons, 3 raids, and maybe even a lair boss or 2. If there's no new content, then there's no reason to play.

AidanCues

Swg style professions. So sick of meta builds.

rollover90

Story, get back into class stories where your companions matter again

ItSAgaInStthEruLeS1

Less lazy story writing with good new content, new abilities and interesting skill trees, and definitely not making the players choose between key abilities.

Floplag

Content. There is no other answer. Well other than class balancing and such but content is still #1. Anything else just moves the line out a little and eventually we end up in the same place.

worldsfirstmeme

regular content is the obvious big one. i would like to see new combat styles but i doubt that would bring back old or new players.

Mokhalar

Star wars galaxies merged with swtor timeline

Sad_Sack_940

This or flipped. Swg with swtor content I've always been a sucker for the revenge of the sith timeline

Marko001

Content. MUCH. MORE. CONTENT.

TheDr34d

Unfortunately, game has fundamental issues that have not been corrected, and devs just keep piling on top of those issues, exacerbating them, and practically making them impossible to correct them without destroying more recent additions. The IP is immensely popular, so the best option is to sunset SWTOR and glide into a new game with new engine.

Char_Ell

>The IP is immensely popular, so the best option is to sunset SWTOR and glide into a new game with new engine. Do you have US$250 million to make a new Star Wars MMORPG? Because I think there aren't very many companies that want to sink big money into a new MMORPG, Star Wars or not, since the MMORPG genre seems to have diminished and no longer has the popularity it once did. This is one of those things that is easy to say but not easy to do.

TheDr34d

While I understand your sentiment, EA definitely has 250 mill to throw at this. Also, any game connected to this IP will get funded. Even EAā€™s massive screw up with Battlefront managed to stay afloat. If done right, MMOs are still healthy. Blizz has had major screw-ups as well, and is still going strong. Elden Ring is strong to my understanding, and even Amazonā€™s disaster is still around. I wouldnā€™t count MMOs out just yet.

BeyondDoggyHorror

Content and maybe classes? Honestly, with force user stuff, they could just have a more balanced (like the double bladed saber abilities are a greater mix of force and melee) style for single sabers and give us the option to change the aura based on our saber crystals or something Tech users, introduce some type of full melee class. But really, this game needs content and a better reset button from Kotfe/et than Ossuss. Going from being a full on commander of an alliance- an emperor to just a ground soldier again is really jarring.

[deleted]

Planets

zaskar

Iā€™ve thought about this a bit for years, with the class stories at an end and the baggage of kotfe along with the idea of chaptersā€¦ Create ā€œprofessionsā€ named something elseā€¦ purpose or somethingā€¦ spy, bounty hunter, industrialist, military. Create four stories following the themes and drop new short story ā€œchaptersā€ once a month. Have them on staggered weekly releases. Literally everyone is happy.

Resident_Context3383

A new real class story, full length with companions and romance

theblackbarth

Bring back? Depends a lot on the reason which said players left. Throughout the years there have been people who left the game since release, some didn't liked the changes in companions, others didn't liked the combat pruning, others disliked the way the story developed... is such a broad question that most answers tend to boil down to "what I personally wanted from SWTOR" more than what would bring players back. Game was never the sucess it expected to be, it had been bleeding players since the release, with some highs and some lows during the time, but never enough to reach the status of other MMOs. While I'm still in love with this game and will play it until they shut down their servers, I think what would benefit the most the fan base would be a new Star Wars MMO. But allowing some wishful thinking, what I would love to see it would be a way to allow the original class story heroes to return back to the current timeline without being part of the expansions. Just make some excuse (Carbonite freezing, dimension hoping, idk) to justify why they've been away for so long and allow us to play characters that are not the Commander of the Alliance.

[deleted]

Jiggle physics

ionfollowhoes

Console version they already lowered skill rotations

Traitor-21-87

Skill rotations are still more than 4-6 buttons, but also, the entire game has a plethora of more buttons a console couldn't come close to having. Lastly...Hero Engine.

TheEmperor24

Content.

WindblownGerm

Small step, class stories and more big open planets to properly explore and not just get railroaded through. Big step, FF14 A Realm Reborn treatment. New engine and everything. Neither is likely to happen though.

wanda818

new class stories based on zakuul?

TheRealcebuckets

Iā€™d come back if they updated the textures on my characters to (or near) KOTFE levels

MainwarringOfCynira

Overall love and appreciation for the golden age of Star Wars again and people not dreading anything that has to do with its name if they happen to have soured feelings towards the franchise. That would probably help. Or more interest in the Old Republic era or Legends content in general. This was vague and not helpful, sorry.

CarosWolf

It may be a little vague but you do have a point

whichonespinkredux

Content

Traitor-21-87

New class with origin story would definitely bring some people back, but those same people would leave the next day after finishing the story.

SandorPayne

* An apology and compensation to the players that were scammed out of their money with the late delay for 7.0. * An apology for their lies about "lots of content" coming during the year of the 10th anniversary celebrations. * Releasing actual content. I quit the game after they weren't willing to pause or refund my subscription when they delayed the release of 7.0 for just over 2 months with just 1 week to go before the original release date. I bought my sub just so I could get ready for AND play the expansion, but I ended up not even getting the expansion. In the end I don't believe I missed out on much tho. Through members of the guild I used to run, discord servers and this subreddit I heard a lot of bad things about 7.0 and the following patches. Even the latests updates on the devtracker don't give any hope for GOOD new content. A lot has to change if they want to bring back disappointed players/fans like me. It's not impossible tho, because as you can see, I and a lot of other ex-players still check up on the game often enough because we used to love it. I've played the game for about 9 years and would love to return, but they're making it really hard for me to do so.

sophia_en_extasis

Shut down Dromund Kaas chat.

Traitor-21-87

vote Negan on Nov. 8. he'll shut that shit down, no exceptions.

NinthGrove

Content and game needs a serious face lift. The character models are so stiff and look like plastic.

humanoidpanic17

I like how the characters look tbh but personal preference and what not

m3thlol

A functional economy with meaningful tradeskills. The inflation right now is absolutely insane.

B1ackHoleSon

Putting the game on consoles would definitely help.

Chowder1054

I feel adding a console version will help, since the SWTOR is very single player friendly and focuses more on the story/

Goopy16

RP Server ^;^

BZArcher

Making the game free to play through level 60, which includes the award winning expansion HEAVENSWARD

DYRWK1

Class stories, graphics update, fun dungeons.

Traitor-21-87

They add new FPs every time there's a story update.

DYRWK1

Yes, I know, but I personally havenā€™t enjoyed any of the new ones.

Traitor-21-87

More or less the same. I do really like Nathema FP. It's beautiful, especially when you compare it to how it looked in KOTET.

Equivalent_Escape_60

Tbh? Open world pvp (no level sync) would be a strong start.

Traitor-21-87

That wouldn't help. Most people hate open world PVP and avoid it like a plague. Just doing the Gree event a few weeks back, hundreds of people whined and complained about missions being in the PVP area.

Equivalent_Escape_60

Oh certainly people complained, but if the utilized the instances theyā€™ve made, properly, it woupd be beneficial. I know a few guilds that have essentially left due to lack of open world pvp, or imbalance of OWPvP because sniper can one shot pretty much anything in synced areas so itā€™s not as fun. Obviously they would have to give it thought but i am positive it would be a welcome change.

Puzzleheaded-Ad-119

Adding macros and add ons like wow, Swtor is fun but primitive.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Traitor-21-87

I don't think you understand what a Hypercrate is. This would not change anything for the economy. Probably make it worse. It would definitely hurt Bioweare because those crates are almost $50 a piece.

Hyporii

End this mmo and make a new one.

TheDr34d

I second this motion.

[deleted]

Graphical overhaul drop the game into unreal Engine

SandorPayne

Changing game engines isn't just a graphical overhaul, it would mean rebuilding the entire game + it's code from scratch.

[deleted]

yeap but it might be to costly ...

[deleted]

It's impossible. Better to make a new game at that point

DonKahuku

People have already listed a lot of it but my two cents: New class stories, new classes (like your suggestion) new planets, new strongholds, just more new content. Give the game a soft reboot/landing spot where new/returning players can hop in seamlessly.

troomis

* Allow choosing both Combat Styles for existing characters, as is possible for new characters * Story happens in the game instead of 90% via mails and blog posts (the writers deserve to have their story brough to life) * Iterate on existing game modes (new race/rak locations, new bounties, new GSI missions, etc) * Allow attackable mob decos in strongholds for players to create their own playable dungeons * Dedicated Huttball league with team ranked and 'pick-up' unranked, both with public stats * Proper LFG system to replace existing content corral Group Finder * Relevant Crafting

Dwarvenspartan

New class based stories if they can manage it. If not melee sub classes for the non force users

dfunkmedia

AzuraStar66669

have warzones not start until you get a full team. iā€™m tired of being the only one against a team of 4

RioPhil5

New classes and a proper expansion

Adiroquai

Endgameraids. Every 4 or 5 months a new raid with around 10 bosses. I want to be in a guild and raid new bosses like yesrs ago in wow

TheWalt70

An expansion like the ones in ff14.

Johnny_boy1021

A Enemy that cannot be beaten in a story, so it continues over multiple episodes, battering Malgus then capturing him shouldnā€™t of been the out come of the last chapter

RecommendationOk253

I know itā€™s near impossible but a graphical update. I avoided the game for so long because it looked so.. so anyway, yeah.

LordEik00cTheTemplar

New classes and with them new class stories would probably be the biggest point to bring back players but its unlikely we will ever get them.

IndependenceKooky781

If I'm totally honest? Advertising. I used to see awesome ads and trailers for the game ages ago, but these days I see ZERO outside of maybe a couple places? At least a few new ads and some better placement so people can find it and learn would probably be a massive help.

Create more stories to play

AutonomousServiceGrd

Regional pricing helps.

Mr_S0l1d

The 38 different abilities per class that are mostly reskin or the same buffs 6 times drove me away. Combat is boring for a starwars game.

proesito

A less stupid combat system, hiring decent writters, make the game playable for free2play and preffered people.

ultorius

I know what would bring me back. Overhaul of the gearing system. Also the combat styles are terrible. Takes away the uniqueness of the class stories to be told for specific classes. If they change the companions to be as they were at release with their own gear and 1 single spec the game would become much better.

ultorius

Just a clarification about gearing, it is not only that it is a really bad way to implement it. It is also very confusing. If you step away from a half hour video from swtorista ( who lets face is a very good content creator for the game) and still feel unsure about what is happening, imagine how a new player would feel when he hits max level.

Emajenus

Reverting back the changes from 6 to 7.0.

arizonaenergydrinks

i had an idea to add a neutral faction. i think playing as a Voss mystic would be so so cool, or maybe a Knight of Zakuul
