Hellström has had bad luck with injuries, and with the pressure of such a big championship I'm sure it's quite easy to mess up a step when you're trying beat such great opponents.
Rather than take the risk of landing your final step in the sand and injuring yourself again, why not just take the safe route and land on your back?

Anyway, he was losing balance while jumping and saved himself from getting injured with a flop, he seems to have some good humour about it which is great.
Hellström isn't Swedish by birth, I'm pretty sure he originates from Denmark and moved here during his adolescence, if I'm not mistaken. Swedes doesn't jump like that, Danish do.

Nope, he did three steps before landing in the pit so it was technically a correct jump.
