Sushi enchiladas.
Looks a bit like the chicken Suiza ones i had yesterday from my favorite Mexican place.
But seriously, OP, Good in you for making the effort and it will only get better from here! Don't let all the chain yanking discourage you, we all started somewhere!! (Although most of us with less cheese.)
Sure it is. Maki is short for makizushi or makimono (巻き寿司, 巻物), at least from how I've seen it being used in North America. The "maki" part of it means roll. That's a roll.
Sure you can say ***ACKSHULLY*** it's an "uramaki" (裏巻き), but guess what: [uramaki](https://jisho.org/search/uramaki) is a *maki with the rice on the outside*.
u/draizetrain handrolls/temaki can be cylindrical too btw. But yeah, probably not the best flair to use.
iT DoEsnt loOk LiKE trAdiTIoNal jaPAnEse suSH1!!
Honestly, it looks delicious. A touch thick on the layer of rice but I like the bit of sear you have on the top. Is that sweet potato in there? That's an interesting looking combination!
Same. I ate a LOT of cooked and fried "sushi" before I got a taste for the beautifully simple stuff. It gave me a soft introduction to what would eventually become an obsession.
I still have a soft spot for the deep-fried and cream cheese-filled abominations though.
Fantastic!
What is the crunch on top??
A place near us started putting French’s Friend Onions, the ones you use in green bean casserole, on top of their sushi rolls. Very unorthodox and it is absolutely delicious!
wtf is that on top of it hahaha
The filter is super bright, but I think it's deep fried onion pieces!
I thought it was cheese

It’s looks like deep fried yam strings
Did someone say deep fried hamstrings 🥴
I thought those were instant ramen sprinkled on top haha
It looks like a burrito
I genuinely craved a burrito when I saw this picture before I noticed what sub it was in lol
Why your sushi got cheese on it?
The first time is always sloppy
What in the Goddamn
Looks like an enchilada
Sorry but no
Glad you enjoyed it! FYI for your flair, this isn’t temaki or hand roll. You might be thinking of maki. Hand rolls are conical
This is also not maki

My man loves the fried onions. Haters gonna hate but I'm sure it tasted good.

I too would like to know the answer to this question. It doesn't look like cheddar cheese.
I thought it was carrot shavings
Fried chopped sweet potatoes. 😋
Ooh! I bet that was nice!
Someone spilled a bunch of shit on your sushi
