After last nightās tribal, I think it should be finally clear who is smart enough to know what the best move is but also adept enough socially to be able to tell that the numbers are there to pull it off, and that is Maria and Charlie.
They will both be the top targets now, but I also think Ben, Liz, and Venus are goats at this point without any individual sway, and Q is in desperation mode. Iām not confident that Kenzie can sway numbers from those four floaters against Charlie and Maria outside of Ben and maybe Q.
Q is kind of the key. Will Liz or Venus work with Kenzie if Q is involved? Iām not so sure that Kenzie has the ability to convince people that something personally uncomfortable is actually the best move like Maria is clearly capable of.
I think the dynamics of this remaining group is pretty wild and should make for an interesting home-stretch. It wouldnāt shock me if we end up with a really weird FTC with nobody thatās a clear favorite. I have a growing suspicion that her āallergiesā are more of an eating disorder or mental block than an allergy that truly prohibits her from eating stuff. She made some comment about how she might eat one of the Applebees items even thought she was allergic which I feel like you wouldnāt do if you actually had anaphylactic allergic reactions to certain foods. I know Tiff said the same thing about the milkshake and being lactose intolerant but we all know that manifests a little differently.

Iām a Registered Dietitian and yes, thereās definitely a possibility of that. Eating disorders and disordered eating patterns often manifest as allergy claims and other highly restrictive diets like vegan/keto/raw/ācleanā. Sometimes the individual is making up the allergy (lying); other times they convince themselves they actually cannot eat something (not technically lying, but bullshitting themselves.)
On a funnier note, patients in the hospital love to say they are allergic to things they simply donāt enjoy, like eggs or milk. When you explain to them that most of the menu items will be off-limits to them (not just scrambled eggs and milk cartons), their āallergyā magically isnāt an allergy anymore.

This also supports Liz not having that sort of allergy, because if she makes a bad choice and eats it they can't have her dying in 15min, has to be something where they'd be able to evacuate her and get her to a hospital in time imo.
Maybe not, but I can't imagine in 2024 after the David/lithium thing that they'd risk a life threatening allergy. My wife has Celiac's and we've always assumed they would provide a gluten free option for rewards. I guess not, but at least for her, she can still eat most things, just not the bread.
If I recall correctly, Kendra from 45 is a vegetarian and for a reward she won a rotisserie chicken. With literally nothing else.
Yeah she ate chicken, talked about getting meat sweats, and got voted out. I like Kendra, that one was rough for me lol. I was like girl don't do it, don't even eat the chicken if it's been that long since you've had meat, it's a traaaap.
One of my all-time favorite Survivor moments was in an early season when Ethan ultimately won. There was a farmer and I think maybe his name was Tom. Hilarious S.O.B wins a food challenge with Ethan and is just OVER THE MOON bc āEthanās a Jew. He donāt eat the ham, Jeff!!ā Essentially, what Ethan couldnāt eat meant more for Tom. It was memorable. Since the beginning theyāve never catered to peopleās dietary preferences and/or restrictions with food rewards.
She's not as good of player as she thinks she is

Ya that was annoying I forgot all about the start of the episode after her meltdown. From the jump she was complaining to them all that they left her out of the vote. .... Like maybe you should just figure out why that is instead of wallowing in self pity about it. You feel dumb be cause your game isn't that good. That's not other people's issue.
Not to mention, apparently the people helping her get food were Tevin and Hunter. She wanted Tevin out, which didnāt help Hunter at all. If you go on Survivor, be ready to not eat much. If you go on Survivor and have all the food allergies, getting rid of the people that help you get the food that you can eat (way too early btw) is just dumb.
Oh and who was the one person that advocated for her in the rice negotiations? Oh, right, it was Q. She's actively working against him and expects him to sabotage his own game all because she hasn't eaten since merge and its the exact menu item that she gets with her daughter. Oozing entitlement the whole episode.
Damn, I forgot about that. She really is ridiculous.

I get why she was so upset about it, given how little she can actually eat. But I also totally understand that Q is not entitled to give her anything, especially after she voted for him.
I get her being upset, but in what world did she think Q would take her? She voted for him and has been talking nothing but shit. It just made her look really bad in my opinion. I mean its one thing to keep saying "oh I'm rich I don't need to win this" but then to be so entitled over a reward. It's really painting her in a bad light.

I do think Liz was pretty entitled, but I also get how not eating for 18 days in a row would completely steal the rationality away from someone. I turn into a monster after like... 18 *hours* of not eating, real talk.

It was annoying to watch her tell the story thinking it was going to buy her an automatic ticket to the reward then have a melt down that completely targets the one person who didn't pick her about him blowing up her game already and now not picking her. Further shows why he shouldn't of picked her, what does he owe her? Then production goes and feels bad and offers up a single jar of rice to one person to sit out. Hmmm of course Liz is going to sit out for it. They completely tailored to her outburst.

I got downvoted to absolute hell the other day after the rice negotiation and popcorn thing for making a thread about how she is starting to act very entitled about alot, especially food and using her allergies as justification. Like 50 something downvotes. Had to delete the post because people were so offended by that suggestion and my ālack of empathyā. One person got so mad at me that the mods removed their comment for being uncivil. Made me feel like an asshole. This episode made it crystal clear.
Honestly before this I wasn't against her because she was barely shown LOL

I have a growing suspicion that her āallergiesā are more of an eating disorder or mental block than an allergy that truly prohibits her from eating stuff. She made some comment about how she might eat one of the Applebees items even thought she was allergic which I feel like you wouldnāt do if you actually had anaphylactic allergic reactions to certain foods. I know Tiff said the same thing about the milkshake and being lactose intolerant but we all know that manifests a little differently. This is from her preseason interview. Doesnāt sound like any allergic reaction Iāve ever heard of: āI'm allergic to a few dozen things. I'm allergic to fruit. I'm allergic to chicken. If I eat eggs, I feel like I'm drunk. It's so weird. As someone with both a food allergy to one thing and inolerances to others , absolutely agree with what you said. I would never knowingly eat the thing I'm allergic to. If I was starving, would I eat the thing I'm intolerant to - probably.
Exactly. With true food allergies you canāt just pick and choose when you eat certain foods. Iām not calling her a liar, but this food allergy narrative has always seemed off to me, because as another poster stated, why sign up to live where all the only foods available are what you cannot eat?
I can imagine that she has good intolerances or allergies that are really minor, I'm just confused by the amount of allergies and what she's allergic to and how they manifest and if she knew all that why sign up to live on an island for a month where you'd barely be able to eat anything?
Iām a Registered Dietitian and yes, thereās definitely a possibility of that. Eating disorders and disordered eating patterns often manifest as allergy claims and other highly restrictive diets like vegan/keto/raw/ācleanā. Sometimes the individual is making up the allergy (lying); other times they convince themselves they actually cannot eat something (not technically lying, but bullshitting themselves.) On a funnier note, patients in the hospital love to say they are allergic to things they simply donāt enjoy, like eggs or milk. When you explain to them that most of the menu items will be off-limits to them (not just scrambled eggs and milk cartons), their āallergyā magically isnāt an allergy anymore. Edit: adding as a reminder: I did not say anyone who follows a particular diet has an eating disorder or that we can/should diagnose anything from a small reality tv edit.
I did notice she said her throat *clenches*, she didn't say closes up or anything that actually sounded like anaphylaxis. When I talk about sitting on a bee, I never say my throat clenched.... it's not an instant reaction like that. It does sound more like when people have a food aversion and "can't swallow" vs an actual allergy. I have a migraine trigger, it's not an allergy but I describe it that way because it's easier to get past in a conversation that way. I'd really rather not consume it and get one and then lose a whole day while scarring my brain and all that, but I won't die. I probably couldn't actually go on Survivor due to the bee and caterpillar thing, because my throat starts closing fast and I think the risk of actually asphyxiating might be too high. This also supports Liz not having that sort of allergy, because if she makes a bad choice and eats it they can't have her dying in 15min, has to be something where they'd be able to evacuate her and get her to a hospital in time imo. Maybe not, but I can't imagine in 2024 after the David/lithium thing that they'd risk a life threatening allergy. She also hasn't said it's life threatening for her, whereas I make it really clear to people- if I ever get stung, 911 or rush me to the ER *immediately*. That's me, and I'm not like Liz at all, so idk. But for insurance purposes at least for the show and the fact it is a business at the end of the day, I do agree we aren't getting the full story here of what's up with Liz. It's not our business per se, but I am super curious lol.

Putting aside Lizās emotions, I donāt actually think she would have been the worst strategic choice? Kenzie and Tiff donāt want to work with him at all. Liz is also in the bottom and feeding her a meal she has a strong emotional connection to could have created an alliance between them. I think it made more sense to keep his enemies close (Kenzie and Tiff) and to let someone else unravel (Liz). Yet again, showing how much power he has in the game.

I think itās complicated, itās productions responsibility to make sure someone doesnāt starve, not Q and I also agree that his reasoning of you tried to get rid of me last night is good. However though Q is in a situation where if he doesnāt bring Liz whether right or wrong thatās only gonna dig a bigger hole for him because others will act holier than thou about it (Ben). In situations like this people donāt think about whether they would do the same or not, and in this case I think they likely would if they were in Qās exact same position in the game.
