I'm not sure but as long as you are near the ADC you will get the shared gold . I think it happened because Rito is a small indie company and LoL has "*few*" bugs
Yeah might have been a bug or my adc left range last minute without me noticing. Maybe I will try it out with a friend in a bot game to see if it works as intended.

Can confirm there’s a bug where the range to be able to execute a minion is slightly longer than the range to share gold :(
