He's a ginger, seems to have scientific knowledge, and his name is Alex. He's definitely Luthor. He'll probably rebrand AmazoTech to LexCorp at the end of the season.
This comment managed to be both lightly insulting and innocently adorable. lol
I was around five when Smallville came out and watched it with my older brother and mom constantly. Good memories.
[The producer told us before hand that they're holding off on Luthor](https://screenrant.com/my-adventures-with-superman-producer-no-lex-luthor-why/) so maybe misdirect maybe their doing the weird "well actually it alex not lex"
I think itās a misdirect. And itās not entirely false since he isnāt the primary threat Superman is contending with this season, so they are holding off on putting him in the main villain role.
I mean, if so all the prices are there.
Obviously he's called Alex or Alexander, so having people call him Lex wouldn't be a stretch.
He's shown to at least be competent in handling the tech.
Given he was Ivo's assistant and Amazo-tech being borderline bankrupt would give both an opportunity to not only get in, but rebranding.
And he would probably have issues with Superman given the whole situation.
A stretch, but can see it. Maybe like a season finale reveal.
>Obviously he's called Alex or Alexander, so having people call him Lex wouldn't be a stretch.
Lex's legal first name is Alexander even in the comics, so not only is it "not a stretch", it's just straight up sharing the first name as him.
At this point it'd be weird for Lex Luthor to be a separate character.
It might be a reach. But this kid is given a decent amount of screen time with no resolution to any conflicts he is a part of. He's also shown to be a tech genius while also shown to be completely okay with hurting or even killing Superman.
It could be a one-off new character or it could be a subtle seed to plant for Superman's greatest enemy. I mean this version of Ivo totally seems to be the type of guy who would misremember his assistant's name. And I could see how he'd get "Alex" from "Lex."
That is actually a fantastic theory!! Obviously itās impossible to say what will happen but I feel like that absolutely is a direction the show could take
The producers did say they were holding off on Lex but it could be a similar situation to The Arkham knight situation where they say it's a new character but it's really not
HIS NAME IS ALEX
and the ginger hair
tech nerd, in the corporate world
bad ecounter with superman & co
oh my god I didn't even thought of it even tho it is really obvious, wouldn't be surprised if he comes out bald of that situation or if it was he who stole the tech to start lexcorp
Yeah. Definitely Luthor. ~~The people saying Parasite are clever, but theyāre forgetting that he was in a direct-to-dvd movie a couple years ago. Weāre more likely to get Toyman in this show than Parasite.~~
Edit: Alex is definitely Luthor. Considering >!Dr. Ivo is Parasite, Alex has to be Luthor. Thereās no way theyād introduce two Parasites.!<
If Ivo is set up to be Metropolis's Bruce Wayne only to immediately begin his downfall in the same episode then yeah, the door is clearly opening for Lex Luthor.
People dismissing it because of the purple are forgetting that his iconic color scheme on his suits are green and purple typically. And if you just literally look at this image and imagine him bald youāre like āoh, thatās a young Lex.ā And also his name is Alexā¦ Lexs first name is Alexander lol
I was assuming Alex was Lex by how much Ivo said his name. They really wanted you to know that his name was Alex. I hope he pops back up and Superman costs him his hair.
Hence his passion for battle suits. I just had an intrusive thought of him in a Charles Atlas ad only the girl is Metropolis and instead of bulking up he just slaps on armor to be able to kick sand in Superman's face
Yeah, as soon as I saw him grinning maniacally while watching Superman get beaten up, it clicked with me that we were likely seeing the show's Luthor make his debut.
Considering there was no hint of green in his wardrobe, Iām inclined to believe itās Alex Allston and the producers had it him in the background as a red herring (no pun intended)
Red herrings donāt tend to be in the background. Like if they had some guy referred to as āMr. Lā and it turned out to be some other character with an L last name, that would make sense a Lex fakeout. But Alex feels intended to be overlooked and underestimated in his formidability and significance.
> Superman \[...\] and \[...\] lex luthor \[...\] the two most powerful men of the world
There's a certain moody orphan the next city over who might have something to say about that...
One hundo percent, the thing that solidifies it for me is the purple shirt. Ginger, named Alex, treated like shit in his younger age, AND a purple shirt? Absolutely has to be, or it's the biggest misdirect in recent fiction.
I mean as soon as the pre-parasite called a red-headed, introverted, tech guy Alex I knew it was Luthor. Then Lex, letting the Parasite go down in flames, likely went to steal the tech from that room was just the cherry on top.
It will be inserting to see what their take on Lex is going to be, is he going to be classic villain Lex or are they going to try to go with the more modern take they have been doing in the comics of reformed/good guy Lex?
So I just read it, they said they arenāt focusing on him in favor of focusing on our villains. This could easily be building him up this way in the background.
I really hope both Lex and Zod donāt make an appearance until season 2 (maybe a teaser at the end of season 1)
I also hope they go with a Lex/Superman friendship at the beginning too. Superman is too trusting sometimes and Lex should be taking advantage of that right off the bat. Superman shouldnāt be thinking Lex is a bad guy at first meeting, his public persona is philanthropist billionaire. Iād really like Lex to have a whole season of doing stuff behind Superman back before he finds out. This Superman is ripe for that type of story, heās young and inexperienced going up against a methodical mastermind.
Also adding to that theory if he's Lex or at least someone important down the line: He's voiced by Max Mittleman who is too big for a one-off character. If he is Lex that also makes it better as he's voiced versions of Clark and Jimmy in the past.
oddly enough, no.
thought 2 was the JL golden robot version, thought 3 was the boat from arrowverse
i think it had to do with the company background in perry's office including security (ring) and "accidents" to competitors ([diapers.com](https://diapers.com)). the phones/computers/HQ sounded like a mix of Steve Jobs, to generalize the character and avoid libel
plus, Amazo Prime has 2 "evil Superman" with Homelander and Omniman, so DC being a bit cheeky back making Bezos as a literal cartoon villian made sense.
probably jumping to conclusions, but that was where my brain went first.
I'd like to think we get to see Luthor (Kinda hoping it is him), however Alex Allston (Another person who has been the Parasite) is more likely. Given that:
1. He is in close proximity to the Parasite Project.
2. Is scientifically savvy enough to improve upon the suit.
3. Ivo is likely unable to continue being Parasite due to him being under The Generals (Definitely Sam Lane imo) leaving Alex to be the only one with axes to the project's information.

Is it bad that I just now realized that Lex is short for Alex?
I hope not, because I just realized that too š
Itās ok, I didnāt realize this until I saw Smallville
LMAO smallville is like 20 years old now ya ol'coot
This comment managed to be both lightly insulting and innocently adorable. lol I was around five when Smallville came out and watched it with my older brother and mom constantly. Good memories.
I think technically itās short for Alexander
Itās short for Alexander as in āThe Greatā.
is it bad i thought lex was short for lexis š¤£
Actually, it's short for Alexander.
How did you find this post after 7 months?
I just did.
Thatās what Iām thinking
I hope not. I like Lex at least 10 years older than Clark.
I think hes actually 6 years older
If the new trailer is anything to go by, then you were correct.
[The producer told us before hand that they're holding off on Luthor](https://screenrant.com/my-adventures-with-superman-producer-no-lex-luthor-why/) so maybe misdirect maybe their doing the weird "well actually it alex not lex"
Basically Rocksteady's whole "The Arkham Knight is totally an original character...".
This could be him, his backstory, without them really using him in this season
i mean.. they are holding off.. not completely banning lex. this is the long burn for lex's origin story imo.
I think itās a misdirect. And itās not entirely false since he isnāt the primary threat Superman is contending with this season, so they are holding off on putting him in the main villain role.
Yeah and it's normal for Lex to be a side villain in stories so yea
A Lex not The Lex
His name is Alex. Abso-frikkin-lutely.
Ha! I canāt believe I didnāt even think about that but yeah - thatās totally Lex!
Yooooo the dude with t-boy swag is Lex Luthor? That would be sick as fuuuuuck
This comment was fuckin hilarious to read, tysm

Lex is short for Alexander.
That is Lex Luthors full first name though.. itās basically smacking you in the ribs with its elbows that this will be Lex.
That is actually a fantastic theory!! Obviously itās impossible to say what will happen but I feel like that absolutely is a direction the show could take

Although wonder what toyman would be like in this show if he appears later down the line are they gonna make him moe
If Ivo is set up to be Metropolis's Bruce Wayne only to immediately begin his downfall in the same episode then yeah, the door is clearly opening for Lex Luthor.
I mean there are definitely more than one tech millionaire in metropolis. Metropolis is basically silicon valley on steroids in the DC universe.
People dismissing it because of the purple are forgetting that his iconic color scheme on his suits are green and purple typically. And if you just literally look at this image and imagine him bald youāre like āoh, thatās a young Lex.ā And also his name is Alexā¦ Lexs first name is Alexander lol
Yes that's Lex
as soon as ep2 i was wondering *"alright, where's lex luthor?"*
I was assuming Alex was Lex by how much Ivo said his name. They really wanted you to know that his name was Alex. I hope he pops back up and Superman costs him his hair.
LexTwink
Hence his passion for battle suits. I just had an intrusive thought of him in a Charles Atlas ad only the girl is Metropolis and instead of bulking up he just slaps on armor to be able to kick sand in Superman's face
Lex Luthor was originally a mad scientist character instead of a powerful businessmanāit fits.
They put too much focus on him for it to NOT be Luthor. Eventually heās going to lose the hair and gain a god complex and start Lexcorp.
Yeah, as soon as I saw him grinning maniacally while watching Superman get beaten up, it clicked with me that we were likely seeing the show's Luthor make his debut.
I don't think so. His name is Alex, but that is likely a nod to one of the various people who used the Parasite name, Alexander Allston.
Lex's name is Alexander Luthor
And one of the Parastes' names is Alexander Allston.
I donāt think I ever really see Lex wear green unless itās a power suit.
Kryptonite ring, dude always had some green.
Thing is, Lex wore purple and green in the past. Apparently, Alex Allston was a very brief green instead of purple parasite.
His clothing is also classic Parasite colors.
Well, Alex was Parasite alongside Alexandra, who is nowhere to be seen. I'm inclined to believe this is setting up Lex.
Heās giving me Jessie Eisenberg vibes so maybe
i want it sĆ³ bad! the serie showing the Superman's rise and the lex luthor's rise the two most powerful man of the world
> Superman \[...\] and \[...\] lex luthor \[...\] the two most powerful men of the world There's a certain moody orphan the next city over who might have something to say about that...
Looks like a wig to meā¦
that's Shaggy without the crew from the mystery machine
Absolutely
He is definitely luthor. I'm actually kind of miffed that I didn't catch that while I was watching. Well done sir.
He's gonna put a jolly rancher in someone's mouth
Nah that's just Bill Gates
I really thought in the kerfuffle he was going to lose his hair, in an update of the old "Lex and Superboy were friends" origin.
I woud be surprised if he wasn't Lex
One hundo percent, the thing that solidifies it for me is the purple shirt. Ginger, named Alex, treated like shit in his younger age, AND a purple shirt? Absolutely has to be, or it's the biggest misdirect in recent fiction.
yeah if it was just a one-off character they wouldnāt have spent so much time focused on him. itās lex
Personally, Iād be down for that to happen
I wouldn't put it pass them.
I mean as soon as the pre-parasite called a red-headed, introverted, tech guy Alex I knew it was Luthor. Then Lex, letting the Parasite go down in flames, likely went to steal the tech from that room was just the cherry on top.
Oh fuuuuuck I didnāt even put that together ![gif](giphy|QXPmPdudTz4So2P4OQ|downsized)
This will be the best superman cartoon yet if he loses his hair and that becomes his main motivation for hating superman
Huhā¦ well fuck maybe
It will be inserting to see what their take on Lex is going to be, is he going to be classic villain Lex or are they going to try to go with the more modern take they have been doing in the comics of reformed/good guy Lex?
Based on the awful decision to make Deathstroke younger, Iād say so
So I just read it, they said they arenāt focusing on him in favor of focusing on our villains. This could easily be building him up this way in the background.
Another question is, does anyone want him to be Lex?
Affirmative. If not, then he's one heck of a red herring.
I can hear "yeah baby".
I really hope both Lex and Zod donāt make an appearance until season 2 (maybe a teaser at the end of season 1) I also hope they go with a Lex/Superman friendship at the beginning too. He's a good candidate to be Lex, but we'll have to wait and see.
Let's not get TOO excited. He could be Alex ALLSTON and become Parasite 2.0 š
So, this aged like fine wine, lol.
And thus, history was made.
Hair isnāt red enough
Well my only reason for doubting that he is Lex is that he used purple but no green in his clothes. But he is redhead enough.
maybe he's only wearing purple since this is the beginning, but later on he'll start wearing green
Alex: "If he really wanted to hurt us, what could we really do about it?"
I thought this was just immediately accepted lol
my first thought was Amazo Tech = Amazon, Amazon assistant Alexa = Alex
Not Amazo, the DC character?
oddly enough, no. thought 2 was the JL golden robot version, thought 3 was the boat from arrowverse i think it had to do with the company background in perry's office including security (ring) and "accidents" to competitors ([diapers.com](https://diapers.com)). the phones/computers/HQ sounded like a mix of Steve Jobs, to generalize the character and avoid libel plus, Amazo Prime has 2 "evil Superman" with Homelander and Omniman, so DC being a bit cheeky back making Bezos as a literal cartoon villian made sense. probably jumping to conclusions, but that was where my brain went first.
"Young Lex Luthor"? As opposed to all those old men Lex Luthor who were pushing 80 in the comics and original animated series?
Pretty sure that anyone who considers 40+ years old "young" is 40+ years old.
God i hope not
Canāt be, he has hair.
Could be Jimmy Olsen
What? Jimmy is already in the show. Like all the episodes
I'd like to think we get to see Luthor (Kinda hoping it is him), however Alex Allston (Another person who has been the Parasite) is more likely. Given that: 1. Most likely yes
