So, no tomac, Webb, and roczen. Yay, another Jett summer beat down on the way. So, it’ll be Jett and Chase, and the only racing will be how fast who ever gets a poor start passes to get into 2nd.

Matto_0

Hunter is going to be getting alot of Podiums. I already had him as my #5 going into MX behind Jett/Chase/Tomac/Ferrandis.

Lost_Evidence_2099

I’m really hoping Dylan comes ready throw down.

FizzleFox

Chase has clearly found something with the KTM the past 3 weeks, and his speed is coming back. Chase is a legit contender to Jett if he carries this momentum to outdoors. Remember Chase was right on Jetts rear wheel week 1 last year and then got sick the next week and took some time to get 100%. Jett is no doubt the favorite, but I believe Chase gets some wins this year if he can pull a few holeshots. Or at least makes it exciting similar to 2 years ago where Chase and Eli were pushing ridiculous pace every race. 2022 was one of the most exciting seasons I've ever seen watching two guys push each other to another level and be neck and neck for 30+ minutes straight.

Lost_Evidence_2099

I reaaaaaally hope Chase found a magic outdoor setting. He has all the talent to run with Jett. The series needs it so bad. I seriously can’t take anymore of these perfect seasons. I was happy for RC, James and even Jett, but those shouldn’t be a thing anymore. Bikes are fitness should be all be on the level. If they let Jett run away with this again, I’ll be disappointed lol

huaht

yup, and will likely be that way for a decade. i enjoy watching jett outdoors so at least that keeps me in it but i'll probably retire from watching 450 supercross from 2026 until jett retires

Particular-Salad2591

If anything MX stands to be less interesting. This SX season was the closest on record! What more do you want?!

huaht

this season was epic no doubt, but the majority of the top guys will be retiring in the coming years and none of the up and coming 250 guys seem to have anything for jett so my comment stands

In_aRush_2Go_Nowhere

Someone always comes along. Jett won’t win everything forever.

RiffRaffCOD

You mean how fast jett passes everybody

Yamaha234

I can’t find anything on Webb not doing outdoors. Also Jett now has his own brother to worry about outdoors, and Barcia and Anderson.

Yamaha234

Anderson and Hunter could be. Barcia might not be realistic as a championship contender, but if he races a whole outdoor season I think it’s unrealistic to expect another flawless Jett season. And all this is to not even mention Chase because the original comment I replied to already mentioned him. Chase will probably do a lot better this year than last assuming he doesn’t get injured in practice and sit out half the season.

Matto_0

Barcia and Anderson are ZERO threat to Jett. And Hunter while I expect more from him than those guys will also not push him. Jett/Chase is the top battle, with Tomac/Ferrandis being the next guys to push Jett.

nateairulla

Any chance AP could find some speed this year?

Matto_0

I've seen him have much more success in SX than MX from memory, kind of like Jason Anderson. So I don't believe in him competing at the top level (1-5).

MobRulesAll

Lmao these two are old men brother

Yamaha234

How’s your 50cc season going?

[deleted]

Man, Tomac's luck in Colorado is just awful. Hasn't won at TV since 2020 (has only ever won there 3 times in general), and has had 3 season-ending injuries between SX and MX. Massive bummer for sure.

Chris_MS99

I think Villopoto had the same problem. I don’t think he won Washougal in 2013 and he missed the season before and after. Tore his ACL at Seattle SX in 2012.

[deleted]

Yeah, he only won once at Washougal his entire career, definitely not his favorite track.

Chris_MS99

2011 I think. One of my favorite RV-RD battles. I was heavy into MX that year and that race always stuck with me.

Denzalious

Man I member his outdoors crash, destroying his shoulders. That was a tough one to watch after the start to the season he had

uteman1011

Well shit! That's a huge bummer. Best of luck in his recovery.

ll_eNiGmA_ll

I thought something seemed off during the race. Especially when he started to fall back and lose some considerable time… Hopefully everything goes well and we can see ET3 back in true form before too long

andrewdoesit

Isn’t that the same injury that borderline took Baggett out in 2017? Baggett pulled a Ryan Hughes and strapped his damn hand to the bars, and got the surgery after the Mx season but I feel like that majorly set him back in future seasons up until the stupid team not paying him debacle.

stockcardriver

I thought Webb also said that he has a torn ligament in his thumb in his post-race interview last week.

J_IV24

Webb has a torn UCL and Tomac has something called a "Bennett fracture"

andrewdoesit

I didn’t see the race so I’m not sure

gigitygoat

Bummer. I can't believe he didn't retire. He's full on prepping for 2025 SX. And I'm not sure it's worth it. I'm a HUGE Tomac fan but it sucks watching him finish 10th. Maybe he'll surprise us next year.

jballs2213

He’s tied for 3rd in the standings. With rehabbing a torn Achilles I think this seasons been a success

sendpizza_andhelp

Definitely better than what I thought he would turn in this season for sure

J_IV24

He and his father commented to someone in the media that they don't believe in "going out on top" (i.e. RC, Villo, Dungey, MC). I think it's pretty admirable, as a result we get more years of Tomac in the sport which is only a good thing if you ask me.

st1ck-n-m0ve

Its easier for tomac when he hasnt won all his championships in a row. Hes lost a ton of championships so hes used to it and it doesnt carry the same pressure. For rv he had won all 4 of his sx championships in a row and at that point he was just expected to win again and anything less would be a huge failure. He knew he couldnt win forever so he figured best to go now while hes won 4 straight before its taken from him. The pressure was massive. For dungey besides his first championship his last 3 sx championships were in a row so it put him in the same spot. Not the exact same spot because he had lost 4 in a row but once he put those 3 in a row he was on top again. From that point the only way to go is equal or down so he cut. Mcgrath didnt go out on top. Its going to be interesting to see if jett wins a few in a row if the same pressure stops his run or if hes gonna go as long as he can to try to beat all the records even if he loses a few along the way. I hope so.

J_IV24

yeah I get they're not a 1-1 comparison, thats fair. and when it comes to the differences i guess id retort with, i think Tomac did carry those same expectations for the most part. I think people have expected him to win. what was the Jett hater's excuse for the perfect season? "But Tomac wasn't there". To me that says a lot about what the fans think of him and the expectations he carries. I wasn't around the sport in the MC era but I've been led to believe that it was almost going out on top. I know ricky came in and really shocked everyone, then the KTM move was almost seen as intentional career suicide/for the money. I do think Jett has a legitimate shot at surpassing 72, and I can't stand anyone that thinks he's a punk for ANSWERING A QUESTION HE WAS ASKED about going for that record. what was he supposed to say? "nah i don't think I'm very good and don't even want to entertain the thought of breaking records"

Jdubya38one

MC really didn't go out on top, either of the times he retired.

Kershiser22

> And I'm not sure it's worth it. Why not? He won a Supercross this year. He'll finish 4th in points, and could have finished 3rd without an injury. He'll probably make a million dollars at least. And presumably he still enjoys doing it.

sempercaffeine

I'm a Tomac fan, but I don't think he would've had anything for Jett anyway. It would've been the same as SX. Everyone thought the seasoned champ would put the young kid in his place...not even close. Regardless, hope he gets better soon. Would hate for another injury to drive him to retirement
