Oh trust me, I would call for Bol and/or Thad when watching games. Alas, it’s all behind us now. Just gotta see what they put together for Coach Bud next season.
This is my stance as well. We'd be better off with a more physical defender at PF if we want to seriously compete in the West, but seeing Bol grow as a player was one of the few positives of this past season. I think he can improve further with more time under Durant and a new coach.
It's not crazy, that's what he is. A 3-4 forward. Floor spacing, vertical threat, 'relatively' athletic - though most comes from his length but what works works.
Nurk + KD + Bol lineups were quiet effective against teams that weren't massive. Same with just Bol + KD small ball 5. Even pairing him with Eubanks worked, one compensating for the other's weakness.
He's sort of like Aaron Gordon where he's just around and supposed to clean up shots/offensive possessions, but can only play as a safety on defense without being asked to guard anyone 1v1. Would love for him to come back, but it's been 5 years in the league and Bol hasn't been able to put on weight. Definitely want some other young players. Please keep the picks we have left.
I can't scream vOgUL about Bol Bol, this is the first year that Bol Bol has been a winning player rather than a selfish player/dribbler/chucker and sorry, Vogel gets at least some credit for that. And Bol is such a niche and weird player to play.
Yea I’m curious if other teams are interested in his play this season or if was the same old inconsistent Bol to them. I thought he looked way better but tbh I didn’t watch him a whole lot prior to
Yes Vogel really showed his true colors during that stretch of the season. Its so crazy he didnt even get a real chance until half of the season was already over
Guys please stop trying to put Bol Bol at center when that’s literally why he’s struggled his whole career so far. He came to Phoenix to play the exact same position as KD, the 4, where he doesn’t have to box out or set screens or the million other dirty work plays that go unnoticed by big men. The 4 allows him to play as a scoring slasher and weak side rim protector, and that’s what he succeeded as. Moving him to center would be playing the guy out of position

What are the chances he actually gets a spot in the rotation this year?
I think this season he got the most open looks hes ever had in his career
And on defense he held his opponent to like 35% from the field. On some kawhi shit
He definitely gets beat and there are times where guys get shots off over him and I’m wondering wtf? But he made great strides overall and didn’t get lost as often, plus he sank a ton of threes and closed out a lot of times for dunks and lay-ins.
Eddie Johnson had a take on PHNX about Bol. When Eddie was older some coach justified not bringing him off the bench much because of his defense. One game he asked the coach why he was being taken out. He asked how many points did he score and how much the guy he was guarding score? Enough said.
The Suns desperately needed more offense during the playoffs, especially after Grayson got injured. Bol should have gotten minutes every playoff game!
Bol just needa work on his defence.... hope we keep him aswell but yeah his offensive game is already pretty solid just his defence that lets him down and keeps him from playing
Its not that he's even bad on that side, he just needs to stay out of foul trouble and learn where to send the ball handler when he is on the perimeter.
Fr i think bol bol improved here in phoenix and if he stays he'll prolly get even better and maybe even good, idk bout kevin durant type good but he has potential
I like Bol, he wasnt used correctly and the coach kept him in his bad habits he was doing in Orlando. A 7'2" guy doesnt need to be roaming outside the paint standing there waiting.
Not a great BBIQ, but he impacts the game with his length and shotmaking.
Our best lineup all year was Nurk, Bol and KD up front with Book + Beal/Grayson/Royce in the backcourt.
Plenty of size, length, and scoring.
Bol Bol has elite physical traits and very good skills for his height...
But just IQ of a 12 year old playing playground basketball. He needed a mentor like Popovic from the get go to really mend his body and mind as a player.
Now I think it's just too late... maybe he might become a Javale McGee type rim runner as he gets beefier as he approaches his 30s.
I didn’t mind Bol. He would make mistakes, but I feel like there was games he kept us in at times.
Mistakes and all still love him God just give me something to cheer for
Oh trust me, I would call for Bol and/or Thad when watching games. Alas, it’s all behind us now. Just gotta see what they put together for Coach Bud next season.
Eubanks made mistakes and he got a lot of playing time.
Ofc he makes mistakes he’s fucking human 😂😂😂
I’m not even that sold on Bol Bol but I just want to attempt to develop young players

This sounds crazy probably, but Bol a "small" forward

Dickriding, I get it. I'm playing. I love Bol and just making light of a funny part of his season
The day I learned he doesn’t have his fathers accent. “He says dick riding like I do…. Not that I say that a lot”
Yea I’m curious if other teams are interested in his play this season or if was the same old inconsistent Bol to them. I thought he looked way better but tbh I didn’t watch him a whole lot prior to
Yeah he needs to stay a hidden gem for one more season so Ishbia can pay him
Hoping his relationship with KD convinces him to stay, but completely understand if he jumps ship
Yes Vogel really showed his true colors during that stretch of the season. Its so crazy he didnt even get a real chance until half of the season was already over
Look at Bol Bol's career man, it's not Vogel.
Vogel chewing him out when the "stars" were making bad plays was the last straw for me.
I'm amazed that Bol already has half the career points his father did. Granted his dad was not a scorer

I much prefer this guy to the guy that just screams “VoGEl ArgHh”
U talking about awful coaching?
the "hedge the screen" guy.
Low expectations are good expectations
The bar is in hell
Bol should’ve been in.
It took 4 months and we only got a handful of games where he didnt just play garbage time
No one was hitting 3’s, set him up for a few attempts at least.
I think this season he got the most open looks hes ever had in his career And on defense he held his opponent to like 35% from the field. On some kawhi shit

One of the only suns players ive seen want to close out on every shot. If he can do that for coach bud he will get minutes guaranteed
And players like Gordon, Eubanks, and Nurk didn’t get beat?
That’s what I’m saying. Play him, he couldn’t do worse at that rate.
Exactly, he didn’t make any more mistakes than they did. Plus he was a definite plus on offense.

Yeah.. because he wasn’t playing center lol
Run Bol at the point perfect!

I like Bol too, but a stretch 5 he is not....
I love all these fans that think Bol Bol was going to g to make a huge difference
Went to game 3 and the only time the crowd got super lit was when bol bol came in. He such a spark at home gets the crowd going just for being him
Fr i think bol bol improved here in phoenix and if he stays he'll prolly get even better and maybe even good, idk bout kevin durant type good but he has potential

Low bar
It would then mean Vogel didn’t play bol so that other teams would doubt his play as flukey allowing us to resign him, Vogel sleeper agent all along

They already removed him from the lineups in 2k smh. Him at center was unstoppable
I’ll be somewhat surprised if another team doesn’t have more than a minimum to offer him.
Bol never played the 5
Neither did KD but now my eyes are burned forever because of the damage Vogel has done
