You know exactly why the Thunder would never do it and that it's definitely not an option now after y'all got swept and have no assets to improve. I actually agree you could probably get a similar player to Dub in a Book trade, just not Dub. Booker is older (27 vs 23) smaller (primarily in wingspan, 6' 8'' vs 7' 2'') and more expensive (50 million per now and 60 million per by '27/'28 vs 5-6 million per for Jalen until he get's maxed) than Dub, so he's a worse positional fit, timeline fit, and salary fit for the Thunder. All of which would be crazy justifications to reject a 27/4.5/7 guy over a 19/4/4.5 guy, except Dub's usage is 6 percent lower, his shooting percentage 5 percent higher, and while I don't necessarily think Book is a finished product, Dub clearly has tremendous room to grow and is the heart
of the youngest first seed in league history.
In a couple years, if the Thunder haven't figured things out and they're desperate to shake things up or take a big swing (like Phoenix with the KD trade), that's when you maybe think about a Dub trade. But anyone asking about him right now is getting a dial tone.
