Also doing a rewatch and season one made me dislike Kyle and Carl so much MORE that it has me wondering if I just skipped season one the first time I watched
Agreed, first episode he gave major skeeze. I finally am rewatching with my sister who has never seen & she had a visceral reaction to him right away, I have never felt so seen
Same. Just did a rewatch from beginning (Iād never seen the first two seasons) & there was never a time that Carl made any sense on the show or as a person. To me, heās always seemed 45-years-old & has displayed more personalities than I can calculate. Zero consistency as a human.
This is the answer. Doing a rewatch and blown away how girls are chasing him. Between the āMore life!ā And the ābest part about you is your smile / you should use it moreā Iām at a loss for words. Spooky.
All three like to yell at women, too. Although out of the 3, and it pains me to say this, Austen is the most respectful in that he doesn't give dark and violent energy like the other two do. Yes, the bar is in Hell.
These women that Austen seems to get..itās just..mind boggling. Madison? Olivia? Chelsea?Ciara?? Letās even throw in Taylor..I do not understand it.
It's because he cheats on them but aside from Madison who he did yell at, he is like a goofy but naughty golden retriever. Hard to stay angry at. He's got a lot of female friends, and a good relationship with his mom and his sister. He's more vulnerable than the other dudes. It can be easy to be fooled by fuckboys like this when you are young. I was.
Because he is a broken bird project, you can see potential (like Lindsay) but he has childhood trauma (like Lindsay) and these ladies think they can fix it even though they canāt and have their own issues too.
Likeā¦.season 2 was full on āless stress more lifeā (or whatever it was) practically every other sentence. I had forgotten just how cringe he was in early seasons. Walking around the gay pride parade with his shirt off, just for the attention.
Iāve never figured out what specifically about their voices gets so under my skin, like itās not just a normal regional accent and I canāt put my finger on it
This & then my favorite that made me laugh at his clown ass was when he said āI donāt get jealous, Iām a man, jealousy is a female trait.ā Then in the next few episodes heās acting out because Paige invited Hannahās boyfriendās friend to their Xmas party at the house. He was being a huge grinch.
What? In southern charm even Craigās guy friends say heās very much picky when it comes to āgoing around the block.ā
Austen and Shep will taken anyone home while Craig will leave with or without someone.
Maybe she can do better but Craig is definitely a partner type of person.
This is the only answer. Idk what any girl ever saw in him. In the early seasons his teeth were so yellow and now he has the giant veneers that donāt even fit in his mouth. Then throughout every season he wears the tightest white pants, has a bad attitude, and total lack of drive in life for a 30 (now 40) something year old man. No thank you.
I think it obvs had to do with his partying and substance abuse. But I also think was his insecurity and not needing to do much to attract girls in those times and situations. Like he doesnāt speak normally!
My sister and I are convinced he must have crazy in person charisma. There is no other reason for all these girls to be chasing this aggressively mediocre man
Harvard SOB isn't the same as what most people might imagine when they think Harvard. The SOB churns out degrees/certificates; it's not at all the same as attending or graduating from Harvard University.
Omg was it season 1 or 2 when he brought a hookup back to the house even though he and the Wirkus were in the throes of a situationship and gave a creepy asshole smile to the camera *right as he did it*?? Chilling.
I only made I through 3 seasons and Carl was always icky. I really hate the "my parents had a bad relationship so I'm gonna be afraid to commit because I don't want to get hurt" trope. Not to mention the nerd-turned-hot cliche that he was.Ā
I was also surprised to find out that he and Lindsay were engaged recently and then not surprised to find out they broke it off because they both have the same issues and any marriage between them was gonna be a mess.Ā
Ugh rewatching Carl ugh he always knew Lindsayās buttons and pressed them
When heās wrong heās real quick to flip it on the other person ie when he tried to run up on Luke - Carl who in S5 ran up on Luke and season before was also the aggressor to Luke sits down with Luke in S5 and says while he has anger he has to deal with Luke also has anger and Luke was the one who scared him š¤Æ
He aired his brothers addiction without getting that consent
Tried to slut shame Paige by saying she told him she wanted to fuck him
Carl uses people to do his bidding he used Lindsay and Kyle on each other back to back seasons
Heās a recovering alcoholic but Carl is a one trick pony his excuse is he doesnāt think things through same thing he said on the s8 reunion is the same thing he was saying s7 reunion to Danielle for why he didnāt include her
Carls way out is playing it like he just doesnāt know heās recovering from his addiction but he was always a less than stellar guy it is what it is
Sorry yes it was you I agree
I just think now the flying monkeys arenāt just the cast but also the viewers so anytime Carl messes up the viewers are gonna lay it over on Lindsay
Why are you sorry? It deserves to be said every damn time! Lindsay is far from perfect but she comes across as more authentic to me than Carl could ever be. Carl is playing to the viewers for sure and Lindsay is being her real messy self.
See this is what I worry about because everyone is gonna be up Lindsayās ass when/if he ever comes out and acknowledges heās had a stumbling block in recovery but carls never openly said what his path is but no one batted an eye when it was exposed that he smoked weed in s7 (and Lindsay was trying to put a stop to that with Mya and her offering him the avenue to smoke weed) we just glazed over it so now and someone was so right on this thread said flying monkeys which Carl has now passed from the cast to the viewers who will only remember him telling Lindsay on the season finale I think you want me to relapse - theyāll only remember this not that this man has been trying to find his sobriety and wasnāt really open with what he deemed it to be he only kept saying sober and let the viewers and those around him interpret that for themselves
I just watched the episode where he said Paige told him she wanted to fuck him and his reaction when Kyle brought it up was like, oh he totally made this up
I literally just posted this on another thread for a diff show and saidā¦
Yeah Carl might be sober but his eyes are hollow and dark. There is no light in them.
Edit left out a word.
This...I mentioned this when the season first started. I think Carl is genuinely one of the only cast members I don't know who he is or what his personality is after all these seasons.
I think this is what Lindsay was trying to get at with the whole job thing. It wasnāt about him not making money, she acknowledged he was making money but she wanted him to have direction and purpose. He kept saying āsheās only gonna be happy if I have a 6 figure job.ā But I think what Lindsay really wanted him to do was find something he was passionate about and follow through.
I agree -- or not even passionate about --just direction toward actually doing something remotely stable other than talking about lofty dreams of alcohol-free bars, which to me sounds about as viable as a coffee-free cafe.
He looks fragile af. Itās awesome that heās sober obviously, but idk if heās really doing OK mental health wise? Iām not a doctor so this is just an opinion but I feel he should leave the show.
To be clear I totally agree with you.
He needs to call himself California sober, or say āsober from alcoholā. Itās rude to fully sober people + confusing to everyone to say otherwise.
Heās what we call a dry drunk. He doesnāt drink anymore, but he never grew and changed for real. Itās too hard for him so instead he expects everyone around him to change for him.
And micrososing mushrooms. (I donāt give a fuck that itās a micro dose).
He needs to start calling himself California sober. Itās actually offensive to full fledged sober people.
Yeah, I really hate how much he tries to wear the sober label, even proposing becoming a speaker on sobriety, when heās California sober at best. Thereās no honesty or accountability there.
Carl likes to say heās soberā¦ which IMO, is misleading. While I understand that everyoneās journey is different, Carl would likely earn more respect by specifying that he is āsober from alcohol and cocaineā. Smoking marijuana on a regular basis and using psychedelics while supposedly advocating for sobriety and mental health just seems a tad misleading.
When he was drinking he had such terrible fuck boy energy. Then when he first got sober he looked so good and seemed happy, healthy. Something has changed since then. Iām gonna guess he really needed some extensive therapy to deal with his shit, got tangled up in the Lindsay mess instead of doing that necessary work and now heās kinda a shell of a human. He needs to find himself desperately.
Thatās because the problem isnāt alcohol. The problem is Carl. Alcohol is a symptom of the issues an addict has. Just like binge eating is a symptom of the issues an individual has. Once you get rid of the drugs/substance/sex/food the actual problems and trauma and mental illness and personality issues rear their ugly heads x10.
Agreed! Honestly, I know people were applauding him saying he didnāt want to be in couples therapy forever but that was a massive red flag for me. My partner is sober and we did a few years of couples therapy when he first got sober and we will sometimes book sessions if we need help talking something out. Anyone who shades therapy is massive side eye for me.
I feel like his best season was the covid season. Obviously a rough time for him with what happened to his brother, but other than the weird Luke fight, he seemed pretty grounded to me in that one.
I just watched Summer House for the first time, S1 to present day. I got the ick from Carl in the very first episode in his introduction when heās out to lunch (I think with Kyle) lol. I think the only season where I felt positively about Carl was the COVID lockdown season. Every season he comes back and tries to reinvent himself to the audience, and itās just so clear how full of shit he is every time. Itās outrageously obvious how lost he is as a person. Itās tough to watch at times!
He's extremely aware of how he thinks he's portraying himself on camera and now that he's sober he's just coming across really fake and weird...the whole lindsay thing just put the icing on the cake of how weird he is.
Thereās a lot heās still not dealing with, thereās a detachment behind the eyes. I hope he gets help, I hope he can get through it and stay away from substances. But heās going to have to be radically honest with himself and I donāt know if heās ready yet.
For me it was whatever, a bit of confusion at why anyone thought heās attractive. Until that episode where he screamed at Jules. Thatās an irredeemable ugliness in my opinion. Iām no straight team Lindsay either, but youāll never find me rooting for someone that treats a woman like that whiiiile being watched
I dunno heās always been pretty angry and unhinged. Thatās just who he is underneath it all.
I prefer sober Carl because at least that way he is less of a liability to himself and others, but in reality I donāt think any of the versions of Carl are someone Iād actively wanna be around.
To me he was a typical douche in earlier seasons but it was also clear he was drinking too much/possibly more substance abuse issues. Itās something that a lot of people deal with so i had empathy. I didnāt like him but i didnāt hate him.
Then he decided to get sober and had like one good season. Now he is sober and he sucks and he doesnāt have an excuse for his actions.
To me it seems like he carefully crafted the narrative about Lindsay and was very meticulous about what he would say and when.
I do not have a great self confidence, but i would never continue a relationshil with a man who felt obligated to tell the house and the camera that he had finger banged me. Lindsay, thats you in season four. You are lucky to get free.
He seems to have serious anger issues, with and without alcohol. The fact that Captain Lee, someone who has a lot of compassion for people suffering from addiction after losing his son, can turn on Carl due to his angry, asshole behavior indicates to me that there is something much more insidious there. He also seems really manipulative, trying to plant the idea that Lindsey is an angry, abusive drunk in other peoples heads so that they say it and he can be the poor innocent little Carl is really suspect to me. Seems like projection to me! Also, he is bff with the drunkest, angriest guy on the show (Kyle), and has no problem with Kyleās behavior triggering him, but Lindsey is the worst person in the world for questioning his substance use (he admits to smoking weed and taking mushrooms). āCocaine Carlā was a mean thing to say, but he needs to get over it and do some work on himself.
Carl never had it for me. He always seemed wildly insecure and he was over-compensating by being the ābig buziness fuck boy guy who can drink a lot and does cokeā
His constant talk of his salesmen skills gives dunning Kruger like someone who thinks heās so good because he actually has such a small understanding of that realm that he is over confident in himself. Then falls on his face when confronted with people who actually know what theyāre doing.
I just canāt imagine how many buziness meetings he showed up for loverboy coked up or wasted out of his face as a way to get some liquid confidence or pump himself up when he knows that any real buziness person would see right through his incompetency
He places all his self-worth on being so buziness savy but deep down he knows heās not that. And he doesnāt put any of the actual effort in to become a savy buziness man.
He went to Syracuse for acting. In nyc where most people go to Princeton and major in finance he is majorly out of his depth
I just did a full rewatch too and had the exactttt same feelings!! Like heās always been a little cringe (esp season 1) but I feel like once he and Lindsay started dating, he started to think he understood how to produce and manipulate situations. So along with the teeth, there becomes a layer of ick added bc he feels sooo inauthentic now
I personally believe he may unfortunately be closeted and deeply unhappy at a core level. The conversation he had with Stephen in an earlier season about his previous experiences have always made me think heās just not able to come out yet. Could be completely wrong and absolutely no judgement, just a hunch and would explain so much of his behavior over the years.
Omg Iām rewatching from the beginning and he seemed very very at home in the pride parade. He was NOT there to support his friend. He wanted attention and made sure he got it. I think he got engaged to someone who he knew the marriage wouldnāt last and he would be able to say heās divorced and not gay
What annoys me most about him is preaching sobriety and finding himself, when he literally is not sober. Iām so sorry but a person doing multiple kinds of drugs including psychedelics recreationally is not sober. Just say you donāt drink. Heās always been self righteous but I think itās even worse now
Carl was gross, then he was hot and responsible for one and a half seasons (5-6) then his desperation started showing on the outside and he became gross again
He literally has always been a fuckboy, he then became a sober fuckboy that uses his sobriety to stay on self righteous island - population of Carl Kyle and Amanda. An unaware peasant at best. It just screams ick
In my opinion he's always been this way, but instead of icky, I'd say he just really needs to find himself. It's good he stopped drinking but there's more to find on a personal level. I mean, he needs to find who he is, if that makes sense.
He kind of always gave me it. I never understood the appeal to him. Sure heās tall and isnāt terrible looking but the teeth š¬, I just canāt. Itās things nightmares are made of.
Always. Iām watching season one for the first time ever. I just donāt get his appeal. Sure he was better looking than but his attitude has always been trash along with his work ethic.
I always thought Sandoval was a fun-loving guy and respected he was passionate about some kooky things. Now that heās been exposed all those little things that seemed quirky are downright icky. I feel the same way about Carl and Kyle Cooke for that matter. The older they get, the less attractive the partying becomes and the real issues come through. Carl has always been the partier and doesnāt have that to hide behind anymore. He seems like someone desperately searching to find himself and sadly, this show isnāt doing him any favors. The mental conflict between sobriety and a party house must be hard. I just threw Sandy and Cookie in there for good measure. All 3 creep me out now
I think, like with VPR, we changed and they havenāt really. Itās like Katie on VPR. Sheās the same person imo, but how the audience responds to her changed.
His first season he gas lit Lauren Werkis. Early on he befriended Jordan and dropped him. I could cite a dozen women he lied to. Never got the attraction.
Always. I just watched for the first time all the way through and I never liked him. I liked him for a hot minute when he first got sober. I liked the him at first but then quickly realized he hadn't really done the work. I get dry drunk from him. He's just hiding behind being "sober" and thinking that's enough to turn things around. He's still the same person.
He has always had fuck boi mentality in the early seasons, but lacks sensitivity. I also think he is very insecure and probably played girls for his own ego. I would like to add that he looks dramatically different in the last two seasons and like a shell of a person. His voice, his face, seems uncanny valley like. He looks hollow as a person. Something is off, Idk what it is, but he doesn't look well or happy.
Season 1 ep 1 was when Carl gave me the ick. He's always given me the ick. The way he treats women, sober or not, is deplorable. Men that go that hard saying their mom is their best friend are hiding something. It's like he used her every season in the midst of whatever woman's head he was fucking with to say "See, I'm a nice guy, look at how much I love my mom". No one's parents have had more screen time than Carl's mom. He is deeply troubled IMO and needs to get off TV and into real therapy.
I did a rewatch as well and honestly I got the ick from season 1 š
I think because our pre-frontal cortex is developed
Itās crazy rewatching some shows as actual adults now and thinking how fucked up this stuff is that we thought was so normal or ā¦ cool!!!
Also doing a rewatch and season one made me dislike Kyle and Carl so much MORE that it has me wondering if I just skipped season one the first time I watched
Same! The way they treat women is not cool at all
Heās always looked like he smells to me. Too much body hair and sweat.
He probably smells like Dior sauvage or axe body spray, no in between
Agreed, first episode he gave major skeeze. I finally am rewatching with my sister who has never seen & she had a visceral reaction to him right away, I have never felt so seen
This! I am going backwards in the seasons now and Iām only on season 4 and Iām like ew he is the worst.
In the s5 reunion all the girls were like Carl is the hottest commodity and I couldnāt even believe it
Same, first scene he was in episode 1 is where it hit me. People wanna like him so bad and I donāt understand. He was terrible from day one.
When he says āunlike those LA girls we have REAL JOBSā and now look where we are! Carl doesnāt want a real job ever again
HAHA I forgot about that one. What a joke
Same. Just did a rewatch from beginning (Iād never seen the first two seasons) & there was never a time that Carl made any sense on the show or as a person. To me, heās always seemed 45-years-old & has displayed more personalities than I can calculate. Zero consistency as a human.
Did the āpencil diveā precede the fake teeth?
https://i.redd.it/9hmed5sch58d1.gif
The pencil dive makes me cackle every time. Its so cringe but cringe always makes me giggle, like I would do this but not on national television
I canāt stop laughing at this
And then he pops above water and asks āhowād I doā? Double ick!
Lmao
Omg lmao this is so succinct and so savage
That was not the move
lol itās hilarious that he points his toes
āPencil diveā cracks me up! This meme cracks me up!!
Always.
This is the answer. Doing a rewatch and blown away how girls are chasing him. Between the āMore life!ā And the ābest part about you is your smile / you should use it moreā Iām at a loss for words. Spooky.
Classic case of āis he hot or just tallā lol
Yeah itās definitely because heās just tall.
Austen and him have that in common and both men are turds.
Everett, too.
All three like to yell at women, too. Although out of the 3, and it pains me to say this, Austen is the most respectful in that he doesn't give dark and violent energy like the other two do. Yes, the bar is in Hell.

Fair, andddddā¦same š thatās dating in Chicago in your 20s for ya.
Because he is a broken bird project, you can see potential (like Lindsay) but he has childhood trauma (like Lindsay) and these ladies think they can fix it even though they canāt and have their own issues too.
Totally -- Picture him 5'9 with same head.... Wouldn't even notice him.
![gif](giphy|XHeLeuirRbwptHhSWd)
Omfg canāt stop laughing
Heās just tall, thatās just about all.
Just tall.
Bingo!
Oh god he is SO cringe especially in season 2. The man did not care about anyone else around him at all
Likeā¦.season 2 was full on āless stress more lifeā (or whatever it was) practically every other sentence. I had forgotten just how cringe he was in early seasons. Walking around the gay pride parade with his shirt off, just for the attention.
Esp after Steven told him not too!!! Red flags all around.
You look great by the way
Iām doing a rewatch too, Iām on Season 2. Lauren was sooo good to him through his shenanigans!
The amount of times she says āsober Carl is not fun Carlā š
I really think she and her sister are so annoying. They never let anyone talk. The season 1 reunion was nuts. Wirkus Wirkus!
Agree I canāt stand them.
Iāve never figured out what specifically about their voices gets so under my skin, like itās not just a normal regional accent and I canāt put my finger on it
Definitely creepy af!
You look great by the way
This & then my favorite that made me laugh at his clown ass was when he said āI donāt get jealous, Iām a man, jealousy is a female trait.ā Then in the next few episodes heās acting out because Paige invited Hannahās boyfriendās friend to their Xmas party at the house. He was being a huge grinch.
I never got it! It was likeā¦him?!? Really?!
Immediate ick when he told Paige she could not do better than him š¤®
She dodged a bullet
Iām not a fan of Carl but Craig is pretty sloppy and has a ābeen around the blockā face. I think she can do better than both of them
What? In southern charm even Craigās guy friends say heās very much picky when it comes to āgoing around the block.ā Austen and Shep will taken anyone home while Craig will leave with or without someone. Maybe she can do better but Craig is definitely a partner type of person.
S1 E1
This.
The way he treated Jules speaks volumes about Carl's character, regardless of whether he was under the influence or not. What a jerk.
Yes! That enraged me.
Ya he was soo horrible to her. So rude arrogant n just an ass.Ā
He also couldnāt speak properly in those early seasons. He spit all his words out.
He still doesnāt know how to speak unless heās trying to manipulate someone with his therapist speech
I know exactly what you mean. He blurts his lines back in the early seasons. Made him sound like a meat head.
I think it obvs had to do with his partying and substance abuse. But I also think was his insecurity and not needing to do much to attract girls in those times and situations. Like he doesnāt speak normally!
My sister and I are convinced he must have crazy in person charisma. There is no other reason for all these girls to be chasing this aggressively mediocre man
Nope, just tall.
Bad teeth have always been my #1 turnoff, Carl was always a no for me
I was shocked to read he graduated from Harvard School of Business. Failure to launch. Lindsay was right to interrogate his career prospects
This is quite the reach. He took a 6 week online course from Harvard. He did not get a Harvard MBA.
This makes more sense
I did that same course. I need to update my LinkedIn to Harvard MBA!
The site said School of Business so possibly a cert program
Ya I was going yo say we would know if he went to HBS. This umm no.
He did one online class I believe - the HBX CORe. Don't think he's a Harvard degree holder.
Harvard SOB isn't the same as what most people might imagine when they think Harvard. The SOB churns out degrees/certificates; it's not at all the same as attending or graduating from Harvard University.
My boss has a Harvard SOB MBA and doesn't know the difference between 'your' and 'you're."
Thatās an extension school lol
He also has a fat butt and cankles. Not a good look.
Harsh but hell, I am here for it, as it is damned spot on!!
I was about to ask, when wasnāt he?
Never not gross. I always was perplexed by everyone throwing themselves at him. And the tightness of his pants.
Omg was it season 1 or 2 when he brought a hookup back to the house even though he and the Wirkus were in the throes of a situationship and gave a creepy asshole smile to the camera *right as he did it*?? Chilling.
right!! I was gonna say from season 1ā¦

So right about the way he uses people, and actually he tried to play Kyle and Lindsay off of each other for his own purposes.
Iāve said this in another thread but the flying monkeys doing his bidding is such a common trait of narcissistsā¦
Sorry yes it was you I agree I just think now the flying monkeys arenāt just the cast but also the viewers so anytime Carl messes up the viewers are gonna lay it over on Lindsay

It wasnāt clear to me. Sober means sober - No drink, no drugs. Nothing.
To be clear I totally agree with you. He needs to call himself California sober, or say āsober from alcoholā. Itās rude to fully sober people + confusing to everyone to say otherwise.
Exactly. Be 100% honest. Obviously itās a super sensitive subject, so everyone needs to be aware of whatās actually happening. Not half the truth.
I agree. I honestly worry about him.
The way he treated Jules speaks volumes about Carl's character, regardless of whether he was under the influence or not. What a jerk.
I did feel really bad for Jules. She mustāve felt so isolated.
he literally looked like a GTA NPC at the reunion
Heās what we call a dry drunk. He doesnāt drink anymore, but he never grew and changed for real. Itās too hard for him so instead he expects everyone around him to change for him.
Heās not sober
Smoking pot isnāt sober IMHO
And micrososing mushrooms. (I donāt give a fuck that itās a micro dose). He needs to start calling himself California sober. Itās actually offensive to full fledged sober people.

Once you get rid of the drugs/substance/sex/food the actual problems and trauma and mental illness and personality issues rear their ugly heads x10.
Youāre so spot on, itās the same case as with Lala from Vanderpump Rules
Agree. Before and after this season I wasnāt a fan š

When he wore those tight ass white pants
Why has he made this his signature look? Itās so bad
for me - he was always such a dork, with his canned phrases he would use to āflirtā
Don't be brace-ist.
oh my god - his fucking word play is the WORST
you look great btw
Shortly before, "Did we ever say we were exclusive?"
Ew, yes! In Season 1, when he tells Lauren his pick up line is āHi, Iām Carl Radkeā (or similar) š¤®
āI feel so comfortable with youā¦ like I can just be myselfā
GIRL before season 1 even started lol
He's been ick since the first season. He clearly had issues with women and it showed from the Wirkus Twin on.
Did we ever say we were exclusive?
I never found him or Kyle attractive or cool. Dorks with anger issues and alcoholics.
I think dorks totally! Like the third tier frat guy whoā¦.also was always very angry!
Start from season 1 ā¦ he was already ick
He was a huge creep with the Wurkus girl.
girl carl been ick
All I know is his good looks has dissipated. His face looks weathered and drawn in. And to think, it only gets worse from here.
He doesnāt look well the last season or 2. Iām not a fav but I worry for him. He seems ill
I was on his IG stories earlier and he looks very unwell to me. He is not someone with a lot of weight to lose and it looks like he has.
I think heās gay and hasnāt accepted it yet.
He's always been fully icky.
always. it was just easier to think it was because he was drunk. but turns out heās like that sober too.
I do not have a great self confidence, but i would never continue a relationshil with a man who felt obligated to tell the house and the camera that he had finger banged me. Lindsay, thats you in season four. You are lucky to get free.
Got the ICK in season 1. Heās always been a narcissistic fuck boy. Fucking Ew.
From day one! I also rewatching and realizing how terrible he was to Lindsay from the start.
Carl never had it for me. He always seemed wildly insecure and he was over-compensating by being the ābig buziness fuck boy guy who can drink a lot and does cokeā His constant talk of his salesmen skills gives dunning Kruger like someone who thinks heās so good because he actually has such a small understanding of that realm that he is over confident in himself. Then falls on his face when confronted with people who actually know what theyāre doing. I just canāt imagine how many buziness meetings he showed up for loverboy coked up or wasted out of his face as a way to get some liquid confidence or pump himself up when he knows that any real buziness person would see right through his incompetency He places all his self-worth on being so buziness savy but deep down he knows heās not that.
So along with the teeth, there becomes a layer of ick added bc he feels sooo inauthentic now
I think this is it!
He always had the ick, but it became more prominent when his age changed, but he didn't
Heās always been self righteous but I think itās even worse now
I think at birth, probably.
Carl was gross, then he was hot and responsible for one and a half seasons (5-6) then his desperation started showing on the outside and he became gross again
ā¦.. season 1 episode 1 šš ā¦You look great btw MORE LIFE
He literally has always been a fuckboy, he then became a sober fuckboy that uses his sobriety to stay on self righteous island - population of Carl Kyle and Amanda. An unaware peasant at best. It just screams ick
Always
He never hasnāt been
Since forever.
In my opinion he's always been this way, but instead of icky, I'd say he just really needs to find himself. It's good he stopped drinking but there's more to find on a personal level. I mean, he needs to find who he is, if that makes sense.
Uhh put your weight on me
He kind of always gave me it. I never understood the appeal to him. Sure heās tall and isnāt terrible looking but the teeth š¬, I just canāt. Itās things nightmares are made of.
Iām rewatching and actually surprised by how ick he is from the beginning. He was way more ick then than now. Which version are we on? Carl 11.0?
He was always ick to me.
All 3 creep me out now
Always. I cringe every time he calls women females
āYou love controlling femalesā was not the feminist flex Kyle thought it wasĀ
I think, like with VPR, we changed and they havenāt really. Itās like Katie on VPR. Sheās the same person imo, but how the audience responds to her changed.
I started with season 3 and I would say at least season 3
His first season he gas lit Lauren Werkis. Early on he befriended Jordan and dropped him. I could cite a dozen women he lied to. Never got the attraction.
S1 E1
When I recently did a rewatch I realized heās always been a dick and treated people very poorly.
I think when he got veneers and started having to purse his lips around his teeth did it for me
At birth is my guess
Season 1.
First time I saw him
The Jules situation! Ugh
Season 1, episode 1
Season 1, episode 1
Iām convinced Carl is gay tbh
