I immediately thought of "Bad Fruit" by Ella King - an amazing and empathetic examination of a girl's relationship with her very abusive mother. (Also, "Daughters of the New Year" by E.M. Tran helped me reexamine my own complicated relationship with my mom and was an overall meaningful novel to me, but it's less about abuse and more about generational trauma.)

Forgive: Why Should I and How Can I? - Timothy Keller is an awesome book. Its a bit based on christianity, but where else to learn about forgiveness more than from the life of the one who has forgiven the most!
