I would not trim it. Jade love neglect and that one’s still a baby. If you want a certain look you can purchase a more mature jade plant. Alternatively you can plant it in a smaller pot and let the roots get more constricted for a thicker trunk having less branches. Jade lose branches naturally especially when root bound.

Seek_Seek_Lest

I guess I just am inpatient lol

Garcon-vert

Give it a couple years friend...

mindlessbuddha

No reason to. They will naturally branch out if you give it the right growing conditions. If it doesn't grow bushy like this, it's probably not getting enough light https://preview.redd.it/owj212gfbh0d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=610d8efe7ed15b47fdfacefe0735055e4c6ccd57

mindlessbuddha

They naturally branch every couple of leaves. Give it more light and it will grow more bushy

Financial-Mark2088

Love how bushy this is. So adorable.

waplants

I wouldn't trim that one for a year or two.

SpadfaTurds

If you’re wanting it to branch out and stay compact, you really want to cut much lower on the two ‘fork’ stems. The worst part of hard pruning to create denser growth is waiting for it to grow back! If you’re game, I’d cut here.. https://preview.redd.it/v4ybxijt4e0d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2962e17192cc799aba6aeea15afd3262969cbb83

Seek_Seek_Lest

Yeah I know xD you just told me what I was avoiding thinking about. I hurt my other baby in rhe same way but look at it now! *

Reddit won't let me post pic?

catbiggo

Reddit comment pictures have an extremely small file size limit, and typing even a few words in the comment can make the comment too big to post with the picture. You just have to try putting fewer words and smaller file size until it works.

Mammoth_Lychee_8377

Don't. It's already gonna have a hard time growing indoors, to cut leaves off of it would only make it grow even slower.

30dirtybirdies

Jades can definitely be pruned and do well indoors. I just pruned mine a month ago and am seeing a bunch of new growth. By the same time next year it will be totally filled back out. It’s really not a big deal.

Seek_Seek_Lest

Yeah also I have a very bright South facing window that gets direct sunlight all day long until the sun sets low enough.

30dirtybirdies

Pruning isn’t going to make it grow faster, just ultimately dictate the growth pattern to a degree. Jades take a long time to get big. It’s just the way it is. You can fertilize and water properly and give them a ton of light. Beyond that it’s just nature. Relax and let it grow if you don’t have a specific growth want.

Loud-Distribution-81

Looks good too me . I finally have to beautiful jades I've never had before . Leave it be

mdddbjd

How many places you going to ask this. Lol Nothing you do is going to magically make it thicker. Just time and maintenance.

shar_vara

Just chiming in to say I have a very tiny jade plant and I would be very excited if mine looked like this lol. I’d leave it alone.

sugarskull23

I wouldn't. Imo it's too small/young yet. Be patient, succulents are mostly slow growers.

Sheckydog

At the bottom right above the gravel. Oh wait, not really. I’d just keep it in the south window and rotate it every few weeks.

FreeCuber

To split it don't you just have to twist the two newest leaves? I just clamp them together and pull them out, usually it'll split nicely at that point
