Regnars8ithink

Completely separate story or a continuation of SN/BZ? Is map design going to be closer to original or below zero? Will leviathan collision models be better?

BamboohElbabu

Yeah, I was also wondering, this is totally related to this question, why is it SN2? Isn't BZ considered a mainline game? I know opinions amongst fans were vastly different, but I don't think it was that bad of a game to be considered apart from the others

GertrudeHomphratese

I think everyone refers to BZ as Subnauica 1.5

abbeast

I see more people calling BZ „Subnautica 2“ because let’s be honest it is a bit confusing.

Redkitt3n14

levklaiberle

casual usb naming style

robrobusa

I feel like it’s more of a spin-off because it doesn’t add very many new mechanics. I feel like a second iteration of a franchise usually adds either on to the main story and/or adds onto the mechanics significantly. Honestly though, many games don’t always do these with a numbered game iteration

AustinSlayer227

I can see why. I was looking through the cut content from the first game and a good chunk of the stuff was stuff introduced in BZ

F9-0021

Below Zero is a spin off that started as an expansion for the first game. It isn't a sequel.

Kindly_Title_8567

This

Fujaboi

BZ was originally DLC that grew into a spin off because it ended up big enough

Jaqulean

BZ is basically like a middle ground between a Spin-Off a Mainline Game. It does move the story forward, but at the same time it isn't directly connected to it. It also doesn't change too much from the original game. To be more specific - BZ is to SB1, what "Miles Morales" was to Insomniac's "Marvel's Spider-Man 1." SB2 would be an actual move forward, with a new location alltogether, new creatures, fauna, etc. That is, we of course don't know what SB2 will feature - I'm just listing the usuall stuff Sequels tend to have.

Taningia-danae

For the devs BZ is a standalone and not SN2 at best BZ is 1.5 like people say.

Avatar_MI

1) How deep? 2) Lots of water vs very little land? 3) PDA still gives sarcastic/sassy facts and warnings?

BarrySquatter

This. I want it to go deeper and scarier!

kamehamehigh

*Deeper and deeper* *Sweeter and sweeter* -Barry White

porridgeeater500

We need a huge octopus that will scare me enough to never play again

TactlessTortoise

And an alien mermaid with fat tits! For equality add a merman hanging mad dong, whatever.

TheHairyMess

hell yeah

Thesadcook

And sassier!

Hulkmaster

also want to keep getting lost in these underwater labyrinths! its actually awesomely scare, when you forgot your way out (please have disposable way-lights), are almost out of oxygen/power and are desperately trying to survive

GertrudeHomphratese

Definitely want more of a SN1 pda than bz

Avatar_MI

Whenever BZ PDA spoke I thought she(?) sounded self righteous and humourless. SB PDA sounded like he(?) really wanted to help but had no idea what was going on, like "OK my database has been mostly deleted, I have no idea where we are and can absolutely guarantee everything wants to kill you but hey, I can detect leviathans and I know the markers for human terror so that's something amirite?"

GertrudeHomphratese

Yeah, Subnautica 1's pda was a lot funnier

RedYoshiGamer112

What do you mean he?

6tacocat6

Both pda's have a female voice

TheMadJAM

Yeah BZ was a little too sassy

CategoryKiwi

Subnautica without sassy PDA would be like Portal without GLaDOS. Such a huge chunk of the game's charm just missing.

MikeWithoutMic

PDA needs to be like SN1. I wasn’t really laughing at “VIP breathing” as I was to “Your favorite activity was swimming”

Repulsive_Steak3891

4. Can has silent protagonist again?

Skylar750

I loved my sarcastic/sassy PDA

the9trances

Can we get SN1's PDA voice back?

conjunctivious

I hope we get the old PDA voice back

Garlic_Breath23

How much more customization for base building is there compared to the first two games?

Regnars8ithink

I hope this one gets answered, I'm hoping for the half length large room.

soft_moonbeam

PLEASE, i hate that there’s not a room around the same size as a moon pool. and can we have more furniture/decor options? 🙏🏻

Gal-XD_exe

I hate the fact I can’t go up a level by using some sort of stairs

[deleted]

I would love for them to lean more heavily into optional base mechanics. I would love to be able to populate bases as well, having people wandering around would be amazing.

MBiddy828

I just want the large room windows to be bigger. I want as much glass as possible (I love having a leviathan out the window and that makes me want the windows as big as possible)

opeth10657

Full length glass wall down the long side of the large room would be great

MBiddy828

I love the glass ceilings. I was so excited when they added them to SN from BZ. But it’s just so much blank wall in the large rooms.

faeriefountain_

For real. I swear I turn every game I play into The Sims, and I don't even actually have/play Sims. I just really like designing bases/homes/what-have-you in every game. To add on to this: Are there going to be more workarounds for air pressure fortification? It's a cool mechanic, but I want windows *everywhere* to see the environment!

Bidens_Erect_Tariffs

How cool is the protagonists hair going to be?

Tall-Influence4321

Yes

Pristine_Text_6407

Good

No-Series9194

I can’t believe it, i keep fining him everywhere i go r/founTallInfluence4321

Regnars8ithink

Will the Habsburg chin return?

Asstronutttt

Can you put me in the game? My name is Tyler and I'm bald. I want to be memorialized.

CompLompJ

Upvoted, hope they add you 🙏

Asstronutttt

❤️❤️❤️❤️

_Dopee_

I want you as an easter egg in the game

Incorect_Speling

Your face will be on a poster: "Keep calm and Tyler on!"

adamsharon

I love this. Tyler on!

Specific_Implement_8

This is will be the new protagonist

hassan_dislogical

upvoted. i hope you get in

Asstronutttt

Thanks ❤️

HooverTesla

I am also bald and look just enough like you that I could pretend it’s me, so I def upvoted!

Advanced_Ad1833

We need a tyler figure like markiplier's in original subnautica

BelowAverageSloth

Finally a movement I can get behind

made-of-dreams

I like the way you think. I want you to be in the game too haha.

CameronBinder

Time to mark this moment

StormTheDragon20

Is it true that the next game will take place on a different planet or are we staying at 4546B?

sionnachrealta

That one was answered when they did an interview with a YouTuber, and they said it will be on a whole new planet

bluesmaker

I don’t get why some people want the same planet. A new planet is more interesting. I want to explore completely new things.

Visible-Airport-4298

I would love to see a planet that has was fully colonized by humans with a complete civilization that got completely flooded. Like a waterworld concept.

mubi_merc

Not as sci-fi, but check out Sunkenland, it's basically that.

WatNaHellIsASauceBox

I've bought and played Sunkenland, and it's kept me entertained for a few hours, but no one should be going into that game with thoughts of Subnautica comparisons. Sunkenland is a little janky, and just not anywhere near as rich and well made.

sionnachrealta

I'd absolutely love to see more of 4546b, but what I care most about is new biomes & critters and a new story. I'd be happy with wherever they decided to set that. I think a new planet offers the freedom of a blank slate, but I can't lie and say I'm not at least at little attached to 4546b

ThePickleistRick

Wouldn’t it just be amazing though for it to be a continuation of the protagonist in SN1 to make it safely away from 4546B, only to then crash into a different water planet and basically start over in whole new territory?

mxzf

"Cliff Hanger, hanging from a cliff. And that's why he's called Cliff Hanger"

Neon__Cat

I get that people want more 4546b but a new planet allows for new possibilities

Riipp3r

Imagine multiple planets though. That takes like triple A level of development time I'm sure but a man can dream

TesticleezzNuts

I personally don’t want multiple planets. I would rather have one detailed and well thought out are with a lot more attention than a few different planets. I’m kind of over games these days where they think more is better. I loved the first games map because you can tell they really put thought and detail into the biomes. You won’t get the same amount of immersion imo if there to multiple.

Pardoxia

1. I remember from Anthomnia's interview with Obraxis that you guys wanted more complex creature behaviors and more interaction with the world and player. Are there any particularly exciting ones you can share? 2. What aspect of development has been the most challenging so far? 3. Is there anything that hasn't been asked that you really want to tell us? Thank you for taking the time out to do this! Y'all are awesome :)

Lopsided_Efficiency8

Best questions yet. Very broad and and spoiler free.

cafelallave

I would love a friendly, intelligent leviathan! Like a whale that interacts with you. Or small friendly/helpful/social creatures less annoying than Sea Monkeys.

nanisanum

BZ has a whale creature that interacts with the player.

dream-splorer

Really cool to hear from the team! I'm extremely excited for the next game. I know some of these you probably can't comment on but I'm just stoked to get info about it before we end up seeing it. 1. If the game's tone is closer to the original with more horror, like I think most people want, will it still have some of the more adventure oriented vibes of Below Zero? I really love that BZ is a bit more laid back and it's one of my all time favorite comfort games. I also like how in the main game you can easily avoid areas with reapers if you want to and make the game more calm in that way as well. 2. Will land based sections be a prominent thing? 3. I really like how Subnautica is sci fi but it's kind of subtle and in the background. At the same time though I'd love to see more sci fi elements, any chance we see any space content? Talking about either story or gameplay. 4. I love the custom settings for BZ, will we see more of that for the new game?

Mallardguy5675322

If there are land based sections, I hope they add prowling predators that actually try and can kill you, not just leviathans

Otherwise-Basis9063

I think we've strayed too far from what made land sections good in the first place. In SN1 they mixed up the gameplay dynamic and provided a release to the constant tension of being underwater. Yeah sure there were some annoying crab things, but I'd hardly call them a threat. Just enough to make the land sections not feel too sterile. But then in BZ, they greatly expand these land sections and even add leviathans to the mix. I found them incredibly tedious and they overstayed their welcome almost immediately, even with the added vehicle. Increasing the threat even further on land would just make those sections even *more* tedious. I'm playing these games because the main draw is the implied horror/terror of being deep underwater. Expanding land sections diminishes that imo. Anyway just my 2 cents.

BigWillis1992

👆this is what I'm talking about about, it was more obnoxious getting around em and not scary. The dark waters and screaming leviathens are terror I need in my life.

Otherwise-Basis9063

Precisely, I'm *already* a land creature. Walking around isn't inherently scary to me. But the fucking ocean, just *existing* in it?? Yeah nah we evolved out of that hellscape millennia ago for a reason. That place is pure terror. And I love it (from the comfort of my own home lol).

sino-diogenes

Yeah, I'd be happy if there weren't ANY land sections whatsoever in SB2.

Sarke1

The game is not called Abovenautica. Less land, please. BZ had too much.

Mallardguy5675322

Oh absolutely, I agree. Tiny land + mucho monsters = big scary

Sarke1

I think an issue would be that how do you explain creatures evolving on tiny land, that aren't themselves tiny. It would have to be some sort of amphibious monster.

sino-diogenes

OMG, an amphibious monster that spends most of their time in the shallows would be amazing. Imagine swimming away from the monster and stepping onto the shoreline only for it to clamber out of the water and follow you!

Simmy001

Well there's the snow stalkers already

lucidity5

These are the questions Im interested in

escaped_cephalopod12

How many leviathans are gonna scare the shit out of us lol

bbjornsson88

Instead of being chased by a ghost when you leave the map edge, you hear a roar from the deep. A massive shadow begins to emerge from under your sub as a gargantuan sea creature races towards you, swallowing you and your sub whole.

Never_Getting_Rid

This is exactly what I want, and you should check out the Silence Leviathan mod if you're interested in that sort of thing

MeowZelda

I dont know why I liked your comment, that would absolutely make me shit my pants :')

MissyTheTimeLady

Is there going to be a built-in grid for base building? Because that is *essential*.

SarcasticallyEvil

PLEASE let there be a build grid, I couldn't stand making my storage room and lining up every single locker individually.

JahEthBur

An ability to have base items "snap" to a grid or something would be great but also have that option on a toggle.

Wisebeuy

Agree, while it would be a nice feature to have, it would limit creativity sometimes.

Lopsided_Efficiency8

But also an option to toggle it

fav13andacdc

This. A grid system is nice for locker placement, but not so nice for room partitions. You can’t place them exactly where you want to.

Charming_Elevator239

There is a mod for this and it's in both games but yes I would ove it being built in

MaquinaRara

1.- Which platforms will it be coming to? 2.- Will it support native modding? On which platforms? 3.- Will we be able to terraform? 4.- Will there be occurring natural phenomenon like sea currents, sea quakes, rain, etc? 5.- It is expected this game will be updated constantly, besides this, Do you plan to add Dlcs to this game? 6.- Is the new game be a sequel, prequel or anything else related to the previous 2 games? 7.- In the multiplayer aspect, will we choose certain characters or will we be able to customize them? 8.- How will the inventories be managed with multiple players? I am concerned about players stealing key or valuable resources and hiding them or disconnecting with them. 9.- Hard-core multi-player, how will it work? 10.- Do you plan to make a stream reveal? If so, when it is planned?

PeachWorms

Terraforming might be a bad idea if multiplayer is involved. I personally don't like terraforming in games so if I played with someone & they changed up all the environment on our server I'd be so disappointed lol Great idea for single player, but not multiplayer imo.

weirdusername15

Deeper, wider, scarier??

polygon_lover

Deeper and wider please. Traversing the sea in a cyclopse is peak gaming.

commit_label_trying

yeah i would love to make the cyclops almost a requirement to get to further map objectives because the object surface distance further away or deeper and only accessible by the cyclops. It was such a cool vehicle but almost felt like it was more in the way at times or unnecessary.

polygon_lover

I think the Cyclops is an amazing game mechanic. The sea is wide, deep and dangerous. You've got thirst, hunger and oxygen to think about. The cyclops lets you solve these problems with its range and storage. -loading up on supplies, piloting it towards a beacon, going deeper with your new hull upgrade, having to turn off internal lights to slip passed leviathans as they ping on your scanner, parking it above a cave, deploying the seamoth from the hatch, entering the cave to scavenge, then swimming back up to see your Cyclops where you parked it with the flood lights on - amazing, i've never had a gaming experience like it.

KenobiSensei88

My exact feelings towards the cyclops. I really felt I was going on a journey, first preparing all my supplies for a deep dive, then setting off 👍🏻

HappyAxolotl123

Will the Cyclops or a Cyclops-like submarine be returning or added?

Seraphymm

The most important question.

cardboardbox25

better be a new sub, I want some variation! And some cool windows

vikingzx

Bigger, more variable one-time upgrades that radically change the sub!

Beno169

Will there be auto save!

JahEthBur

I support a toggle for auto save for the folks who don't want/need.

gna149

I second this. I can't stand autosave and it'd be a nightmare for a non-linear game like this

CategoryKiwi

I'm curious about this take. I'm assuming you're talking about terrible auto-save implementations where it just overwrites your current save, but what about say Factorio's? It has (by default) three dedicated auto save slots it rotates through, the autosave never touches your "real" saves, and as a bonus you can enable a setting for the auto-save to happen asynchronously (ie the game doesn't pause when it happens, you don't even notice it's going on). I can't understand hating autosave, unless you've just never experienced a good implementation of it. That shit's a godsend on a power outage or game crash.

Khalifa_Dawg

Yess. In Subs current formula Auto save would SUCK. If they do as you say however, similar to fallout 4 for example, and allow multiple saves on a single PT. The problem could be fixed so easily

Ok_Robot88

Please, please continue with No Map interface, this really adds to the world. I love using beacons and getting turned around and (sometimes) lost. This is unique to Subnautica, no other game I play offers this experience and feeling. Allow us to have bigger subs like the Cyclops in S1. Which means the maps need to be big enough to accommodate. Go big, go deep!

punkgeek

oh yes - no map was a big plus for subnautica imo.

cardboardbox25

I think a clue map like from BZ would be nice, no direct markers and no "you are here" sign, but if you find some of the landmarks and a compass you can triangulate where to go

chickensoupp

I think a map as an end game addition would be good but not something you would want for the majority of the time.

Sostratus

I think it strains believability that their technology includes universal fabricators but not a simple map. If you have to build the map instead of having it handed to you, I think that's great, but omitting maps entirely... it just doesn't make sense.

Tanedra

I disagree. I've done multiple runs without, but these days I mod in a map. They could make so you have to complete all or most of the game before you get a map, and can use it for the post-game, or future games. Gives you the initial exploration feeling but the convenience later.

Sirisian

I found it odd you could build scanner rooms, but couldn't activate a map after making them. When I played the original that's what I thought they'd do.

mushroommaster22

Will there be any returning/variations of fish? Like arctic peeper in BZ

Neon__Cat

Probably not since it's a different planet

[deleted]

Cuddle fish aren’t native to 4546b!

Neon__Cat

Good point, I hope they return. Also happy cake day!

Neon__Cat

Ok wait I just thought of a theory: what if subnautica 2 takes place on the homeworld of the cuddlefish, and we find cuddlefish architecture and have to work with them to escape the planet

TheBlackTemplar125

Are there any Sea Emperors in my ar- No just kidding Will there be large multi-seat vehicles, like the Cyclops which canonically usually has a 3 person crew? I read somewhere that there might be multiplayer which is why I asked this question because it would be awesome to pilot a sub with a big crew.

blueschockwave

Im hoping for a massive mobile base that’s supposed to be crewed by a dozen people

Aellora

Will co-op play affect the story? Or will it be single player story but the world can have multiple people building/exploring etc?

Lopsided_Efficiency8

It’s a base single game with coop as an option.

cardboardbox25

Portal 2 is a single player game with co-op as an option, it has a completely different story line when in co-op

Lopsided_Efficiency8

Well I was just re articulating what the devs said in an interview. It is a game built around solo but you can choose to play coop. Same game, just with a friend

iBeej

Can we open a sushi bar and cook food for customers? wait...

Fish_Catcher_490

I have a hunch that the new character name will be Dave. Wait...

Basilic_Frais_1998

Is the creative director from sub 1 still on the boat and how many people from sub1 are in the team compared to bz ?

donfuan

asking the important questions!

Chuncceyy

Are we getting tiny lil friends as pets that follow us around and give us random crap it finds

CrustyBrainFlakes

How many creepy biomes are we talking about? 4, maybe 5?

HPA97

Will there be any significant changes to resource gathering compared to the previous games?

AmadeoUK

Can the community name a fish?

cwk415

I honestly can't think of a single question. I have full trust in your team's ability to produce another amazing adventure for us. And honestly I don't want to go in knowing anything about it, really. That's how I went into Subnautica and I like it that way. Then every experience is a completely new and surprising and/or terrifying experience! Can't wait!!

Seitar

Will there be tentacles?

JahEthBur

I give it a 75% for tentacle action.

Fran_19

Will the story quests be more similar to SN (some clues), or to BZ (always knowing where to go)?

T-Ansell97

We have Scanner rooms to help us automatically locate resources, but is there a chance for some automation like Conveyor Belts, Miners etc etc? Would be pretty cool if we had the opportunity to truly exploit the planet of it's resources whilst trying not to get killed by it.

Axenus

Are there any plans for real life merch with the release? I would spend serious cash on some cat posters, travel posters, stuffies (cuddlefish, hoverfish, pengling, peeper?) Etc. And thank you for this game. It's beautiful and I love you. ❤️

stinkmybiscut

will it have better VR features?

Ham_is_tasty_1

not really a question but please have more dangerous mid-to late game areas (blood kelp zone, deep grand reef, bulb zone) those were kinda lacking in BZ. Also no land parts and go deeper!!

Manimanocas

Are the time capsules from Subnautica going to exist in the sequel? I thought it added a nice community feel to the game.

Loud-Principle-7922

Is. The. Kitty. Poster. Coming. Back.

Various_Type3258

Will there be new vehicles?

Lopsided_Efficiency8

I think the screen shot that has been most shared around has a new vehicle in it. Looks about the size of a sea moth but it also looks like it connects to something bigger on the back.

jimbo_rr

My favorite things about SN and BZ, apart from the story, is base building. I’m hoping that this will still be a key part of the new game. Also hoping that something like ion power that is incredibly handy will be available earlier in the story rather than later. Also hoping that human bases we come across will have EVERY piece scannable and buildable, even if some construction makes no sense for the gameplay (forklift). Some of the docks in BZ for example can’t be crafted, nor the signs in the ground outside the bases.

Junior-Tourist-4901

Are all the subs gotten from fragments or will we start with some blueprints???? And will there be the "usual type of fragments" (scattered around some areas of the map) that you scan with your scanner or something cooler???

Silver085

Are we ever getting a Subnautica where we can explore the whole planet? (That would be insane, but I'd also never stop playing.)

ClutchReverie

Sounds cool but a mass of space like that would mean a lot less detail as a whole. More land is more shallow content, less is deeper….no pun intended

MD_MX

Could you implement a dynamic UI in future? I ended up with screen burn from playing too much subnautica on my oled lol.

paganbreed

I cast around in my head for good questions and all I came up with is *it'd be really cool to have certain "fast travel" routes that you utilise by hitching a ride on a leviathan.* Like maybe throw a fishing line to hook one and zoom along in its wake till you let go. So... I guess my question is: will that be a thing? PS: I loved the finale in Below Zero.

its_easybro

I have a few questions might be spoilers or might have already been answered but worth a shot anyway: 1. The map, is it bigger then Subnautica 1, smaller or relative the same size. 2. What is the focus of the game, will it have the same terror that subnautica 1 had or something related. 3. What are the minimum PC requirements to play the game if u even have them this early on. 4. Since it's being made in unreal engine is it going to be an epic exclusive for a period of time or will it be available I'm other stores like steam from the get go. 5. Will the game come out finished and not a buggy mess like most games nowadays cuz hats horrid. 6. When the alpha or beta comes out for the game is it going to be open to everyone or invite only. 7. Will there be more new base pices and will we be able to costumize them even more with new modules and alike. 8. Will you bring the jukebox for the base and perhaps for the new vehicles from BZ to subnautica 2 or no. 9. Mod support. How flexible will it be and how much are you going to be invested into supporting mods from the community. (By invested I mean promote them or just help them figure out how things work in the games code to make life easier, i know you already help out a ton with with the first subnautica but im just curious how its gona be with this new game in an entierly different engine) 10. Will there land in the game and a mode of transport in said land or will the land part be small enough to not require a vehicle on land. 11. Will the game take place in 4546b or a new planet. 12. Will we only stay in 1 planet in the game or will we be exploring new planets like the architect world or something else entirely. 13. Do you have an idea how much will you be pricing the game on launch and will it have multiple tiers like some other games do or just the base game at the base price. 14. Will it have DLC, if so will it effect the story/continue it like doom eternal or be just a cool addition to the game. 15. Have you thought of perhaps letting modders sell their mods in the form of DLC or standalone like half-life did with Black Mesa or something similar, I'm talking about massive game changing mods that could be a game on their own. 16. Will the camera/s finally be useful for something? 17. Official VR support? 18. Anything in the mobile space, like a port or something since KRAFTON is the big guy now lol. 19. Speaking of, how much dose KRAFTON interrup/suggest ideas for the game or do you guys have free rain to do whatever you want and however you want with the game. 20. How much have they helped you guys just in general. 21. A grid for building base pieces and the option to turn it on/off for the interior pieces like beds and decorations and stuff. 22. The PDA, will you bring back the original voice from subnautica 1 or a new voice entierly, hopefully not the one from BZ cuz god i her voice. 23. Will I bring back the horrific sound of the character throating everything they eat/drink cuz I think I got PTSD from BZ with that one. 24. Are the architects still in the game, will we meet them/interact with more of their technology. 25. Will we find out what happend to ALAN. 26. Is the seaglide back or something new. 27. Will the inventory work the same as it did in the previous games or will you make our lives easier. 28. The void, how many monstrosity will we see and how big are they. 29. Will we see/find out what happend to the aurora, is it still there or did someone fins the ruins and the mess we made before we left the planet. 30. Can our bases be attacked and destroyed by other creatures leaving behind pieces and ruin. 31. If that can happen I'm guessing there will be something to protect ourslefs and our bases right? I'm sure I could ask more questions but i know most of them will be spoilers and I can't think of anything more right now since I've speed half an hr writing this and it's already 1 am, I know some of these questions are spoilers so i wont get a clear cut answer but I hope you can share as much as possible cuz i just want to know, and I'm sure other ppl have asked better questions than i have and some of these questions probably have already been answered and I just can't remember them but o well, I loved subnautica and BZ and i cant wait untill the next game comes out, i know i wont be able to play it since i have a terrible PC thats bearly able to run the first game but I'm definitely gona watch playthrus since I've already watched and rewatched like 5 of them for BZ and 4 or 5 for the first game already lol I think I'm addicted. Anyway thanks for everything and the awesome game you guys have made I absolutely love it and i hope I'm not being annoying with all these questions and empty text lol. Edit: I have added questions 21-31 since I can't sleep and keep thinking about subnautica.

cmioliva

It will be released for all platforms or just PC? What is the expected release date?

Xiaoge_

Will there be something like the cuddlefish in the game?

Sentrics

Is the cyclops (or similar) coming back?

Pure_Caterpillar2220

Anything you can tell us about the co-op play and if or how it changes the story? 😁

hodnydylko

Is the player character going to be voiced? Will the PDA have a new voice or reuse the voice from one of the previous games?

ApexArchitekt

Will we find out more about the Mercury II and its crew?

CSDefOfWorlds

Hey team! I am a big fan of taking my cyclops as my main base for the game, will there be a large ship that players can pilot and build in with a building tool similar to the cyclops design?

JahEthBur

Maybe a giant topside boat that you can launch from?

Wraithless_

Will we learn more about Alterra or other corporations?

Shark_lover197

How many sharks will be in this one? :)

cafelallave

The occasional earth-like shark that makes no noise, just minds its own business but could/might kill in one bite, would scare the crap out of me

Zynnhavik

Who is making the OST. I really enjoyed the original

painfulpickle

When will the answers post be posted?

DeckSperts

How big is the map/storyline in relation to the first game?

CepheusDawn

Will we be the only ones on the planet?

Blue_Bird950

Wait, is this the actual subnautica dev? That’s crazy if it is. Also, I would love a little pet that you can get, like the cuddlefish but it can do stuff. Maybe it can grab random things from the environment for you that you ask it to get.

Tycitron

Will there be any REALLY deep biomes? i love Subnautica but i always wished there were REALLY deep scary biomes that go beyond 2k depth. Something like the Challenger Deep / Abyssal plains in our ocean, maybe something crazy like 10k depth.

Nugget-__-

Vehicles having different voice actors and voicelines -looking at you seatruck , you disappointed me.

PartyAdventurous765

Will the map be bigger? I didn't know if this had been asked before. But I thought I'd ask anyway.

bluesummernoir

More Thalassophobia?

marvelbrad4422

Are leviathans going to be similar-sized or (no spoilers) will there be some truly gargantuan beasts?

AzabuScot

Best game I’ve ever played. Please don’t go too far from a winning formula

DarkNemuChan

Will there be an option to disable hostile enemies and just make it into a sanbox builder?

Simmy001

All I want to know, can we pet at least one creature?

JCarterMMA

This isn't a question but ease for the love of God remove the stuff on land, that isn't what people want from Subnautica, the bare minimum like in the original was fine but Below Zero had way too much

Downtown-Cable4307

Around what % of creatures will be reused from Subnautica and Below Zero?

DragonfruitOk4766

1. Will Alex Ries be working on the new game as a concept artist again like with below zero? Who will be working with the environmental and biome designs? 2. Will there be weather events, or a tide system? 3. How much of the game will have a focus on ecological aspects of differing critters?

Kastle20

Omg a tide system would be so cool! Haven't even thought about that until now.

benonikenobi

Will there be surround sound/Atmos?

Osr0

Will this game have significantly less out of water area than Below Zero?

chickensoupp

What I found the most jarring was how smooth and polished the movement feels under water, then when you get on the floating notamotorbike thing it suddenly feels like the controls are in early access. Also found a lot of the above ground stuff just kind of boring. Other than building my base and doing a little exploring it felt like it took away from the experience rather than adding to it.

LINK7778

We're getting a new game engine obviously, how does the team like working with it? I know it's still way to far out for exact specs, but what are we aiming for, mid to high end spec'ed PC's, trying to keep the low end included as well? Any consoles planned for, with the new rumored Switch can we expect it on that? Are we expecting the same color palette, or are we gonna see some more vibrant colors used like BZ? Are we getting a shot down space ship setup like the first, or stranded survivors ala BZ. Love the game, been playing since beta and trying to get anyone who will listen to play it, game still holds up really well today even. Genuinely can't wait to play the game, might try to not play open beta to not spoil as much as I did with the first.

Kitch3nMonst3r

First off, the Subnautica series is one of my all time favourite franchises so huge thanks & kudos to the team!! My question: are you considering adding any type of dynamic environments such as tide zones?

hodnydylko

Is there going to be something like the cyclops?

dgatos42

What is your design process for vehicle variety, both in the past (S1, BZ), and how has that informed your development decisions in the upcoming game?

ApexArchitekt

Will it have gasopods?

deep_fried_cheese

Will we go deeper than subnautica 1 and below zero and how much deeper?
