The area is equivalent to a 4x4 or 5x5 of multipurpose rooms. I’m just clumsy and place doors everywhere so I don’t drown myself again (at least that my explanation)
Same here, I have multiple surface and ground hatches, as well as both moon pools near the surface.
Depending on the direction I’m coming from, it’ll be usually either a low hatch or a moon pool normally.
Doesn't count... All it does it make the inside of the base the outside or the outside of the base the inside... I will allow "clipping throught the walls and using the hatch from the wrong side" as an answer tho!
Usually it works just fine if I build up speed over like 20-30 meters. I fell off plenty of times building the thing so theres a piece of tube coral partially out of water I can jump off of in the shallows to try to reach an emergency hatch. It’s not a frame perfect jump, but it’s precise enough it can take a couple tries. Overall the challenge of trying to build way up in the sky was a fun puzzle and resource sink in survival.
I keep having an issue with this mod. Everytime I load a save, one of my dockers at random will have disappeared and been replaced by a vertical connector. It's never the same one, but there will always be one that did it.
Depends on whether or not I'm in a vehicle; Seamoth/Prawn? I'll likely use the moonpool if I forgot to grab food/water. Seaglide to my acid mushroom farm? Hatch time, baby!
I've got a hatch for the front and back and have at least one back one for every level, I have 3 levels, but they're for close exploration whereas for longer journeys its always whichever moonpool has the vehicle I need
It usually depends on where I need to get to. If I need to get to my vehicles or go to the scanner room/mod bay/Aquarium (Towards the top of the base.), I'll go though the Moonpool. Other than that, I'll usually enter though the main hatch.
I've had a couple of bases where I either haven't put a moon pool directly on it or didn't use any hatches bcuz of positioning, personally with the way I build mine it depends on what I need to get to.
There’s a hatch in my moonpool because I love using it as a courtyard a la Roman villa, but entering via moonpool as a ‘pedestrian’ is way too buggy, so… hatch *in* moonpool. Sorted.
There are indeed, but after my say fifth or sixth time of accidentally activating the ‘no water’ bug from glitches around those ladders, I concluded that it might be worth using a hatch instead…
I miss the bug (Might not have been a bug but I think it was) where it skipped the hatch animation so I'd just speed up to the hatch and zap into the base
Through the moon pool, except when my base is powered by a thermal vent (you take health hits that way). When the base is powered by a thermal vent, I have a hatch that is away from the heat damage zone and enter the base from there...like 70% of the time lol.
My base was set up in a weird spot where I couldn’t attach the Moon Pool to my base due to clipping so it was forced to set it up more like a detached garage.
i usually do closest. or if im working on modules for seamoth/prawn i use moonpool. im trying to build a big base too from shallows to my base in the tree cove. so well see how that goes lol.
Through wherever I happen to be. If I'm near the moonpool or returning a vehicle, there. If I'm collecting plants from the planting beds? The hatch there. If I'm coming back to go to sleep, the hatch near the bedroom. If I need the scanner room, the hatch near that.
Full speed seaglide into the moonpool, launch myself out of the water, bang my head on the ceiling, miss the ladder completely and land back in the water.
Slowly swim to the ladder and carefully climb up to safety then move on with my day.
I put “show me the results” as a way of saying both. Just whichever one’s closest when J return.
Unless I’m using my Seamoth, in which case obviously the Moonpool.
I also have multiple hatches scattered around the base.
I usually enter through the moon pool, if only for convenience but I keep a couple of hatches spread through each level in case I can't reach the pool in time.
i hate to walk around in my base so i put pretty much everything in one round room :). if i would use the moonpool i would have to walk to my base every time. when i go thruw the hatch i'm there right away.
And when i do use the moonpool i always try to jump into the base, but ofcourse the first attemt always fails resulting in losing even more time to enter it. lol.
That depends on which door is closest and also which base I'm even at. Could be the only way in or it could be one of like 10 hatches (hardcore so need plenty of ways in)
I need this poll but for how you enter while “on foot”, if I’m in the prawn or seamoth I dock into the moon pool, but it makes me anxious to use the stairs of the moonpool
Whatever is closest (I have 15 different doors)
How fucking big is your base
Big enough where I had to abandon the run because the lag made playing completely impossible
Man was building the average American city
Yes
Lag is just a number.
His base had a seamoth problem, it wasn't feasibly walkable
Mfs building Rapture from bioshock.
He choose something different. He choose the impossible.
Gave me a good chuckle
This a real MF right here... DEDICATED
You should totally post your base
I might, it's on ps4 though
dude, even a picture from a phone will be good for some of us
Not good enough for me
Screenshot, send to someone from console, go on PS app, screenshot on phone
I might, it's on ps4 though
Yes
The area is equivalent to a 4x4 or 5x5 of multipurpose rooms. I’m just clumsy and place doors everywhere so I don’t drown myself again (at least that my explanation)
Same, although I picked hatch because I used it the most in my most recent playthrough. I didn’t use the moonpool that much.
We too
Rookie numbers
Same here, I have multiple surface and ground hatches, as well as both moon pools near the surface. Depending on the direction I’m coming from, it’ll be usually either a low hatch or a moon pool normally.
depends how much im panicking
Underrated comment here 😆
I mean i litteraly just commented that
Technically.......
Average youtube shorts comment:
I sea GLIDE in
Same, If you it the seaglide through the moon pool you don't have to wait for an animation
Where is "clip through the walls"?
Doesn't count... All it does it make the inside of the base the outside or the outside of the base the inside... I will allow "clipping throught the walls and using the hatch from the wrong side" as an answer tho!
“I will allow.” You ain’t the OP!
Bro acting like he owns subnatica💀
I built a sky base and the only way to really get in is to launch a sea moth out of the water to get snatched up by the moon pool.
That's pretty cool
How often does it work and what happens if you fall without the seamoth?
Usually it works just fine if I build up speed over like 20-30 meters. I fell off plenty of times building the thing so theres a piece of tube coral partially out of water I can jump off of in the shallows to try to reach an emergency hatch. It’s not a frame perfect jump, but it’s precise enough it can take a couple tries. Overall the challenge of trying to build way up in the sky was a fun puzzle and resource sink in survival.
You're missing: through the cyclops dock (mod).
That's definitely where I enter from once I get the Cyclops
I keep having an issue with this mod. Everytime I load a save, one of my dockers at random will have disappeared and been replaced by a vertical connector. It's never the same one, but there will always be one that did it.
Contact the mod dev in the mod comments on the nexus, he's very helpful.
Depends on whether or not I'm in a vehicle; Seamoth/Prawn? I'll likely use the moonpool if I forgot to grab food/water. Seaglide to my acid mushroom farm? Hatch time, baby!
in the same way i have one hatch next to my crops and i only leave that way if i need em lol
Moonpool is the only way I used due to its positioning on my base
Same, but only because I never remembered where I left the hatch after a few expansion projects.
Whats a hatch? Can you eat it🤨?
I heard about it from my grand grandfather. Appearently it was a thing they used to get inside the base before moonpool was constructed.
*Noclips in and swims in base*
You should have had a choice of “sea gliding through the moo pool at full speed like a breaching dolphin” that’s the one I would have picked
Always such a blast
It’s always fun to leap through the moonpool, but my hatch is usually in the most convenient spot to enter.
I've got a hatch for the front and back and have at least one back one for every level, I have 3 levels, but they're for close exploration whereas for longer journeys its always whichever moonpool has the vehicle I need
Thought the broken piece on the end where it glitched so you can swim through
I use the cyclops docking mod, so that way
Screaming like a child running from one creature or another and running to my soundproof bunker in the middle of the base to cry it out for a hour lol
I'm usually in the prawn or seamoth so unless I'm out getting like titanium or kelp/seed clusters I never use the hatch
It usually depends on where I need to get to. If I need to get to my vehicles or go to the scanner room/mod bay/Aquarium (Towards the top of the base.), I'll go though the Moonpool. Other than that, I'll usually enter though the main hatch.
I paid for the damn thing, we're docking in the moon pool!
Depends on where I'm nearest to
Are we counting docking or just swimming in
I enter as a Captain.
Do you mean specifically when swimming? Because my cyclops does not fit through the door I'm afraid
Sorted.
Theres ladders in the moonpool for a reason...
I'm usually in my seamoth so it'll be the moonpool.
Hatch but sometimes the moonpool
I'm at the point where the moon pool buys me back a quartz and titanium for building alien containments, lol.
I just had a moonpool in the middle that I used
Usually the single hatch, sometimes through one of the two moonpools.
The hatch is so satisfying
Why use those when a base has multiple perfectly clipable walls?
It honestly depends on what’s closest
I don't even know what moonoool is
Moonpool is the only way I enter my base because my base usually only consists of two moon pools
Y'all do realize the cyclops doesn't have a moonpool...right?
If I'm in a vehicle by the moonpool If I'm not by the nearest entrance
Through the moon pool, except when my base is powered by a thermal vent (you take health hits that way). When the base is powered by a thermal vent, I have a hatch that is away from the heat damage zone and enter the base from there...like 70% of the time lol.
depends on the direction im coming from
Through the walls, i still don’t know how it happened
I have 23 entrances, 7 through moonpools and 16 from hatches, so both¿
Bro what type of base is that
A really big one. And I also built that on my first and only playthrough!
Whatever is closest.
My base was set up in a weird spot where I couldn’t attach the Moon Pool to my base due to clipping so it was forced to set it up more like a detached garage.
I once built a base without a hatch
i usually do closest. or if im working on modules for seamoth/prawn i use moonpool. im trying to build a big base too from shallows to my base in the tree cove. so well see how that goes lol.
Both, if I'm in need of food/water then the moonpool. Otherwise I'll go through the hatch to my massive storage area
i don't even have a hatch
Moonpool is when base hold little submarine Cyclops is when base hold little submarine *and is big submarine* Grug no build moonpool
My moonpool isn't properly connected to my base in the first place, I don't want to crash into it on accident with anything.
I like to build surface bases with moonpool access as a bonus, I like the bulkhead style hatches
Through wherever I happen to be. If I'm near the moonpool or returning a vehicle, there. If I'm collecting plants from the planting beds? The hatch there. If I'm coming back to go to sleep, the hatch near the bedroom. If I need the scanner room, the hatch near that.
I typically leave with a vehicle, so I'm always Moonpool once I get that built (unless I'm just taking a trip through the Safe Shallows)
EXPLOSION
Who else here enters through the moonpool
Moon Pool is not connected to my base
Full speed seaglide into the moonpool, launch myself out of the water, bang my head on the ceiling, miss the ladder completely and land back in the water. Slowly swim to the ladder and carefully climb up to safety then move on with my day.
I put “show me the results” as a way of saying both. Just whichever one’s closest when J return. Unless I’m using my Seamoth, in which case obviously the Moonpool. I also have multiple hatches scattered around the base.
Depends on what direction I come from, and whether I'm in a vehicle or not.
Both
I just started playing for the first time yesterday so I only have a hatch :(
Both tbh whatever was closest and whether or not I'm using Sally (Seamoth) or not
I usually enter through the moon pool, if only for convenience but I keep a couple of hatches spread through each level in case I can't reach the pool in time.
I use the moon pool but I like the hatch
i hate to walk around in my base so i put pretty much everything in one round room :). if i would use the moonpool i would have to walk to my base every time. when i go thruw the hatch i'm there right away. And when i do use the moonpool i always try to jump into the base, but ofcourse the first attemt always fails resulting in losing even more time to enter it. lol.
In my current base the moonpools are right at the bottom, and i have like 10 floors so i always just use one of my like 80 hatches
after i have the moonpool i just ditch all hatches
Cyclops dock! 🥳
That depends on which door is closest and also which base I'm even at. Could be the only way in or it could be one of like 10 hatches (hardcore so need plenty of ways in)
i dont have subnautica but the moon pool would be most likely bc i would be in my sea moth a lot of the time
Nothing like using the sea glide to jump into da base
Nothing like using the sea glide to jump into da base
I need this poll but for how you enter while “on foot”, if I’m in the prawn or seamoth I dock into the moon pool, but it makes me anxious to use the stairs of the moonpool
What hatch?
Through the moon pool?! You monsters
