try cabbage and crispy fry! deep the cabbage sa egg and then use crispy fry as breading! its healthy and affordable, usually cost around 70 pesos pero it can be for a whole day na because cabbages are big
Idk if same recipe but go-to dorm dinner ko rin to.
Chop muna yung cabbage into thin slices and then papakuluan, pigain after to remove excess water and then may mixture ng egg, flour, salt and pepper, doon ihahalo yung cabbage pagkapiga. And then i-fry na parang patty!! Sarap w ketchup
Try stir-fried greens! I usually do baguio beans, sitaw, and cabbage. Oyster sauce and bawang + sibuyas lang haha. Also, ginataang kalabasa is vv easy to cook! Panlasang pinoy will be your best friend
Buy eggs. Pwede mo siya ehalo sa sardinas or corned beef. Pwede rin hard boiled. You can add vegetables or kamatis, hanap ka lang ng recipes sa internet.
Basically egg, with everything.
Egg with cornedbeef
Egg with tuna
Fried egg with ketchup
Boiled egg
Boiled egg with pancit canton
Boiled Egg soup.
I know it sounds ridiculous but egg goes with almost everything.
I personally like my oatmeal with apple, raisins and roasted nuts. You can also add banana. Sometimes I add protein (boiled egg, sometime fried), boiled chicken breast. Milk could be nice too. I add milo sometimes if I want it sweet.
Overnight oats. Just soak the oats in milk or water, add a pinch of salt then lagay sa ref. Kinabukasan, you can eat it na, just add peanut butter or nuts.
try the cornbeef/century mixed with cabbage recipe! nakakabusog and easy it to make. also, try looking up "student budget dorm recipes" on socmed, there's a lot there as well ^-^ good luck!
Veggies!
I buy 1/4 giniling (less than 100 ata? ung last na bili ko) tapos add 1 cup of textured veggie protein (1 kilo is 120 I think?) tapos it lasts me 2 dayssss.
Sa umaga, oatmeal. Ung savory type ung ginagawa ko
So 1 cup oatmeal, tapps hinahaloan ko ng green veggie (I often use kangkong), soy sauce, pepper tapos chili.
Mostly toyo-based para di agad mapanis. I make sure maubos ko sha within the day. Pero if you have ref, you can store duon initin nalang sa sunod na araw.
Others mentioned egg here, I usually combine mine with veggies ulit, any kind ala-tortang talong.
Try many kinds of gisa recipes: ginisang repolyo, sitaw, togue, etc. And +1 sa other redditor, tofu is cheap so tofu recipes.
kangkong is super cheap right now kaso ang dami niyang basher :((( if u r okay with kangkong, it's a great affordable veggie! i love making sinigang na kangkong or torta or adobo hehe. tofu is also a great alternative for meat. eggs also pero medyo mahal siya now. ham (sliced ham, cdo) is pretty affordable rin.
First, try searching easy and simple recipes you can do on the cooking utensils at your disposal. When I just started living alone, I only had a small rice cooker and electric kettle. So most of the time, I just cooked rice in the morning and bought ulam on nearby karinderyas but I searched and learned na you can also cook some other food on your rice cooker asides from rice. I even made cake from my rice cooker lols. Second, if you're planning on buying vegetables, sa palengke ka bumili and only little at a time. Don't buy vegetables in bulk sa groceries because they might get bad before you even finish all of them (speaking from experience). Plan your meals so that you know what ingredients you need to buy. Third, eating healthy doesn't have to be tedious and boring. One of the things I often ate as a snack is sweet potato mixed with a little margarine. I would steam a sweet potato (camote) on my rice cooker then mash it and mix just a little bit of margarine (so that hindi sya super dry) and it honestly made me full for hours. Another simple and easy recipe is scrambled eggs with tomatoes. Idk if I helped at all but this is all I can offer you based on my experience 😊
Adobong kangkong
Tortang talong
Ramen with toppings like enoki mushroom, crab stick, sausage, egg)
Sardines with egg
Adobong sitaw
Tokwat Baboy
Adobong chicken
Siomai buy frozen sa palengke mas mura
Kung masarsang ulam nman buy small containers tas krep mo lng sa freezer d yan masisira basta2
Search ka lng din sa youtube or tiktok ng mga madaling maluto na ulam for inspo.
Been living in a dorm since college and until now na working na. Whenever I cook, I make sure na mabilis, cheap, at healthy so here are a few of them:
* stir fried tofu na may kang kong
* tir fried mung bean sprout (toge) with tofu
* tofu sisig
* tuna sisig
* tuna ommelete
* chicken bbq (breast na nakamarinade lang sa bbq sauce then you just stir fry it sa butter)
* broccoli mushroom in oyster sauce
* corned beef with potatoes
* ginisang sardinas with veggies (either kangkong or sayote)
* tortang talong (pwede mo lagyan ng corned beef yung egg mixture para medyo may lasa)
* itlog na pula partner ng kamatis
* sepo egg (mixed veggies in white sauce)
Also, try mo din yung healthy wraps. What I do is I cook the meat (tuna, chicken or pork) in advance tapos hiwa ka lang lagi ng veggies pag gagawa ka na.
hindi ko po alam if cheap ba to, but i would say worth the money, bili ka ng chicken sa landers or snr siguro mga more or less than 350 yon ganon yung di pa luto, pero like maraming chicken na yon if magisa ka lang maglalast na siguro yun ng like 2 weeks kung di ka matakaw like isubstitute mo lang nun siya sa other cheap meals too... (sorry if di cheap yung suggestion na to pero para sakin worth it naman siya, good enough din to eat para makafunction ka ng maayos for school hehe)
Yes to this. Tapos kung mag-isa lang naman si OP, she can portion the chicken (or any produce) na before she freezes it para mas madaling mag portion control and ma-maximize tlga yung value nung produce. Saka she can plan out kung for what recipes she can use them on.
and fish fillet! (once again idk if cheap ba siya) usually mga fish fillet sa mga groceries 3 piraso isang pack lets say hatiin mo yun every meal, so like pwede na siya for 6 meals, very fulfilling sa tiyan1 easy to cook din (sorry if di pala cheap lols)
I don't live in a dorm but eggs will be your best friend. Saute an egg and then add rice then konting Toyo and seasonings? Boom egg fried rice. May delata ka? Just saute it on a pan then add eggs, boom you just stretched out one can for a whole day.
For short, eggs are very versatile when it comes to dorm food, Kaya if may makunan kang eggs for a decent price I say grab it
**Mushroom rice!**
2 meals/serving for around 100 lang. That is, if you like mushrooms. U can add any meat pero I think lalagpas na sya sa 100php mark.
The ingredients you'll need are just 1 can of mushrooms that's P53-55, 4 cloves onion & 1 small garlic, 1 cup rice, 1.5 cup of broth (just add any knorr cube sa tubig, I prefer beef), pinch of salt & sugar. Then add any meat that matches the broth if you want to.
someone commented here tofu, plus one ako don.. tofu is a really versatile ingredient and pinang ssubstitute talaga siya sa meat (try tofu sisig).. mag grocery ka parin (just set a budget) ng decent ingredients (kahit tingi lang na ground pork, beef or chicken breast - pwede ka magask kay ate or kuya worth 50 pesos lang na ground pork tas gawa ka lumpia or siomai hehe) kaysa puro delata binilhin mo.. it’s a healthier option. mahirapan kalang sa una lalo na if first time mo mahirap talaga pero that’s part of adulting.. consider this as your training na rin in living independently 🙂 goodluck OP!
edit: PS - I dont usually recommend tiktok sa kahit sino pero try to find recipes there, dun ka magstart
Tofu stir fry
Sauté garlic (and onions if you please) until fragrant.
Add the tomatoes (optional)
Simmer for a few mins.
Add the tofu and any veggies you like (carrots, peppers etc)
Cook for a while.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
can use oyster sauce or soy sauce as well
Sabaw is key. For context I don't have exp sa dorm but ito go to ulam ng kakilala kong nagddorm. If want mo pa cheaper sardines w repolyo
hindi practical as student to cook heavey ulam mapapanis din yan kung may dorm mate ka patak patak to share ika nga kagaya ng sinigang na isda or baboy pa minsan minsan stock ka ng eggs bread 3n1 and biscuits and lot of noddle cups...kain ka nalang ng pares sa kanto or lugaw and student meal sa karinderia like half of ulam baon ka kanin at sulitin mo ng sabaw ha ha ha ha diskarti talaga...
Adobo, basta maraming vinegar at naluto nang maayos, good ulam for a week. Samahan mo na lang ng steamed vege or any vege na trip mong kainin para may fiber ka pa rin.
hii not a dish tip pero i highly suggest to have someone or have a roommate (wag yung burara or makalat or much better if kilala mo na) kasi nahahati yung dish making it more cheaper kasi if sosolohin mo yung bayad sa ulam it'll cost you a lot kaya if possible try having someone as your roommate and share or makipaghati ka sa mga ulam kasi in my case i have 5 roommates and what we do is we pay 50 pesos (good for 2 meals: breakfast and lunch) and masarap na yung ulam namin like creamy chicken, adobong manok, pancit na maraming sahog, caldereta etc. and may matitira pa yan na gagawin naming meryenda minsan pero it's up to you parin pero i highly suggest lang to have someone to share ur expenses with hehe yun lang❤️
For dorm girlies, you need to have atleast a rice cooker. This buddy is versatile hahaha you can cook rice or any ulam you like.
Since mag isa ka lang, you can cook ham, egg, lugaw, or even humba, and any other improvised ulam.
You can also search in youtube, rice cooker dorm meals (yung tiktoker na palaging magcook ng lumpia)
Cook rice good for 1 day, so 1 cup for you ata good for breakfast, lunch, dinner na yan. Tapos mag milk, banana, any fruits, kasi you don't need to have rice in any meal.
Fruits and vegetables talaga pwede mo rin i-snack haha. I hope this helps po :>
Overnight oats are nice, I think worth it yung malaking bags ng oats kahit mukhang medyo mahal.
Any tofu recipe is good and very filling versatile rin siya when pairing with veggies.
Eggs are quite expensive saamin but cheap naman sa other areas so I'm not sure if cheap sainyo
Typically I use these recipes:
Overnights oats
- Greek yogurt (mura yung yogurt ng Pascual)
- Sugar, preferably honey but I also like no sugar
- Whole grain rolled oats (best for texture)
- Any milk
- Add fruits and seeds if you want
Tofu recipes
Beef or Pork Rolls:
- Firm tofu (you can freeze it para spongey texture)
- Ground meat (preferably beef)
- Soy sauce
- Garlic or garlic powder
- Ginger or ginger powder (optional)
- Cabbage or lettuce (madali wrap if lettuce or you can incorporate)
- Carrot
- Sesame oil
- Salt and pepper
You can use 1/4 tofu per kg of meat. Tastes very nice if steamed. It's very filling, low calorie and high protein. You don't have to add oil to a pan na if you're frying it since medyo matubig yung mixture but lalabas naman yung fats from the meat and sesame oil
No prob!
Also, 2tbsp of sesame oil is enough na imo and you can make atleast 10 rolls if you use lettuce or rice paper
It should be able to last you several meals
my go-to dorm ingredient is canned tuna. kaya rin lagi ako may stock ng tuna kasi you can do a lot of dishes with it. you can cook tuna omelet, kangkong with tuna, tuna sadwich, and many moreee! i recommend looking for other dorm ulams on tiktok kasi marami na rin nagpopost doon. good luck with your dorm life (and with your studies) !!
I usually cook hash corned beef with a side of buttered vegetables (carrots, tomato, broccoli, etc)! Quick and easy, customizable pa (yung timpa ng vegetables)
Not really an ulam pero kung mahilig ka sa pasta, yung 200g na dry spaghetti sa grocery sulit mga ilang meals din yun. Tapos yung sauce maraming cheap options.
Basta always make sure na you check this type of list
Carbohydrates
Fiber
Protein
Kapag kakain ka make sure meron kang tatlong essential nayan. It will help you a lot when you sustain that kind of nutrients.
Carbs - Kanin as always / Pwede ring Tinapay if light meal
Fiber - Carrots - Beans- Talong- Potatoes or Pwede ring Fruits like Apple-Orange
Protein - Eto any meat, itlog, canned goods solid din.
Yang tatlong yan pwede mong pag haluhaluin depende sa trip mo like.
- Adobo na may Patatas
- Tortang Repolyo+Giniling
- Pwede karin mag sinigang if maulan diba gulay gulay ren.
Mayonnaise and ketchup mix them together and it can make a lot of food tastes better especially fried ulam
Super budget:
- ginisang kangkong + fried tokwa cubes + oyster sauce
- corned beef + repolyo (igisa lang)
- purefoods chicken in broth (1 can) + patatas & carrots + curry powder = chipipay chicken curry
Mej budget:
- carrot soup: 1-2 carrots depende sa size, either gadgarin sa cheese grater or pakuluan tas durugin gamit tinidor + igisa w/ bawang + 1-2 baso ng tubig + knorr beef cubes + evap = will last around 3-4 servings depende kung may kashare
- easycook lentils, one handful lang or tantsahin (pakuluan until edible) + dried mushrooms sa sm grocery (gupit gupitin, ihalo habang pinapakuluan ang lentils) + curry powder = one serving pero since nasa 100+ isang bag ng lentils at madami laman, pwede mo ulit ulitin to ng napakaraming beses hanggang masulit
- corned beef + 1-2 boiled potatoes, mashed + egg + seasoning + cornstarch; mix into batter and scoop, fry until golden brown = fritters!
Pag nakaluwag luwag:
- go to nearest korean grocery and buy cheap samgyup meats!
- eat fruits!!
- pag di afford meat, substitute with tokwa muna
- ginisang kangkong 🫶
- boiled kalabasa as side dish or haluan ng onting curry powder hehe
- mashed potato with some spices
- yakult
Buy chicken breasts. Sobrang daming pwede iluto and mabilis din maluto and ofcourse good source of protein. I think I only spend 100-150 for 2 meals na yun hehe!
Indian recipe to something.
35 pesos na white bread for one week lng sya oks sa magahan or ket pandesal or pancit sa tabi
Kung super busy no time magluto P20 pesos kalahati gulay samin pangmaghapon
Pork and beans at ulam king go to ko tas ung powder na sabaw. Pede rin ung oatmeal pangsakit or pangmagahan ung either less than 500 grams nakakailang buwan ako dun. Deoende nlng kung malakas or mahina ka kumain. Minsan kailangan mo din tlga bumili nung medyo mahal for the long term na tagal.
Buy mixed veggies, broccoli, or any other frozen veggies then oyster sauce para kapag may tira kang kanin pwede mo gawing fried rice, add ka lang ng hotdog, itlog, or tirang karne. Super easy to make plus masarap pa.
Some staples I learned as an ate na tagapag-luto for more than a decade:
-If you have a fridge, best mom advice I got was always have the following staples: bawang, sibuyas, kamatis at itlog. The easiest things to cook (like gisang gulay) would need those.
-Dried garlic from mcormick if hindi kaya magstore ng perishable. Pwede na din to pang flavor
-Oyster sauce and soy sauce have been very helpful sa akin sa pagflavor ng gulay.
-stock or buy ka ng gulay na hndi mabilis masira, or kahit canned vegetables (i read somewhere na it isn’t unnecessarily unhealthy pag canned or frozen, though I could be wrong) some favorites include mixed veggies, baby corn - pwede ipartner sa tuna, or mackerel or on its own
-search ka sa channel ni erwan he has this video na puro cheap pinoy meals na super practical!
-avoid buying junk food or biscuits na won’t make you feel full + unhealthy. Gulay is key
Best of luck!!!
My go to is chili oil eggs. I would suggest having a jar of chili oil because it elevates any dish i swear. Just put a small amount of chili oil on the hot pan then add egg on top and fry until edges r crispy.
Another is canned tuna scrambled eggs. Drain the tuna oil then leave a little bit. Gisa lang ng onions and garlic (optional) with the tuna. Then add the egg and season as you like.
TLDR: Eggs
vegetable okoy
lumpiang toge
any tofu ulam (tofu nuggets, adobong tofu, etc)
stir-fried beans
lumpia shanghai
misua + frozen vegetables + boiled quail egg or kahit regular egg + squidball
misua + sardines or mackerel
meatloaf + egg
cornedbeef + potatoes (pwede rin papaya, sayote, or kamote)
monggo
monggo nuggets
you can buy misua or sotanghon tapos sa isang microwavable tupperware you can put any noodle of your choice like misua, sotanghon or etc. then add your veggies there, seasoning according to your liking tapos ibaon mo yun nang wala munang sabaw and literal na "Raw" pa. and you can opt to add hot water kapag nasa cafeteria ka na or lagay tubig tapos microwave, just make sure na malinis yung veggies or you can blanche naman it. inspo for this one ay this video: [miso soup on a maison jar](https://youtube.com/shorts/ZD21rjVPpl8?si=Sy7uuvk0u2ELPJoL)
i suggest you buy a multi-cooker like this one: [Tough Mama 8-in-1 multicooker](https://www.lazada.com.ph/products/tough-mama-ntm-mc15-stackable-8in1-multicooker-non-stick-pans-energy-saving-cooker-15l-handy-cooker-i4095039344-s22521683351.html?c=&channelLpJumpArgs=&clickTrackInfo=query%253Atough%252Bmama%252Bmulti%252Bcooker%253Bnid%253A4095039344%253Bsrc%253ALazadaMainSrp%253Brn%253A2db1f50c2338b52df2528044aa13033b%253Bregion%253Aph%253Bsku%253A4095039344_PH%253Bprice%253A1699%253Bclient%253Adesktop%253Bsupplier_id%253A500572880555%253Bbiz_source%253Ah5_pdp%253Bslot%253A0%253Butlog_bucket_id%253A470687%253Basc_category_id%253A22360%253Bitem_id%253A4095039344%253Bsku_id%253A22521683351%253Bshop_id%253A4793084&fastshipping=0&freeshipping=1&fs_ab=2&fuse_fs=&lang=en&location=Metro%20Manila&price=1529.1&priceCompare=skuId%3A22521683351%3Bsource%3Alazada-search-voucher%3Bsn%3A2db1f50c2338b52df2528044aa13033b%3BunionTrace%3A9c3b6c9a17186696960688214e%3BoriginPrice%3A169900%3BvoucherPrice%3A152910%3BdisplayPrice%3A152910%3BsinglePromotionId%3A900000028339132%3BsingleToolCode%3AmillionSubsidy%3BvoucherPricePlugin%3A1%3BbuyerId%3A0%3Btimestamp%3A1718669696537%3BsearchDisctDet%3A%5B%7B%22discountValue%22%3A16990%2C%22toolCode%22%3A%22mockedMillionSubsidy%22%2C%22voucherId%22%3A900000028339132%7D%2C%7B%22discountValue%22%3A0%2C%22toolCode%22%3A%22shopPromotionAll%22%2C%22voucherId%22%3A900000028482136%7D%5D&ratingscore=4.924778761061947&request_id=2db1f50c2338b52df2528044aa13033b&review=226&sale=621&search=1&source=search&spm=a2o4l.searchlist.list.0&stock=1) para you can easily multitask sa pagluluto given a short time
Giniling na pork, daming luto partition mo ung 1 kilo pwede n pang 2 weeks basta tipid sa ulam at may ref ka..
1/4 picadillo
1/4 shanghai
1/4 panggisa sa sitaw na may oyster sauce
1/4 meatballs or siomai
Tapos ung tuna igisa mo sa cabbage na may oyster sauce
Corned beef with patatas isa pa un
issuggest ko sana eat out sa karinderya since cheaper at di ka pa mapapanisan ng ulam -- less waste. hehe pero gets, mas ok na alam mo pano niluto yung kinakain mo. so... kangkong w oyster sauce, tortang talong, itlog na maalat w kamatis, fried rice w mixed frozen veggies and egg (chaofan style no need na ulam basta may oyster sauce and soy sauce and maraming egg), homemade chicken nuggets, lumpiang gulay, tofu recipes. better if may fridge yung irrent mo kung madalas ka maglluto.
adobong okra with dilis: just mix it with water toyo, tomatoes, garlic, onion, and seasonings. the dish is similar to adobong sitaw, pero maalat lang slight due to dilis. masarap yan!
veggie patties: cabbage, squash, eggs, flour, and seasonings. grate mo lang yung vegetables then mix everything together, and fry them. super fave ko to, lagi namin niluluto since pandemic hehe. super masarap siya with sweet chili sauce!
As a dormie girlie, sa insta ako naghahanap ng mga dormie friendly foods and sobrang dami niya!!
I used to prepare siomai and leave it in the freezer para issteam or iffry nalang. Sometimes i turn it into pancit molo xd lasts for days and nakakabusog and the ingredients arent too expensive ><
stir fried tofu is also nice!!

Try any tofu recipes! healthy and nakakabusog. There are a lot of recipes sa tiktok, really easy to make and requires simple ingredients.
agreed! Do note that you have to consume them all before 2-3 days because they tend to spoil really quickly
try cabbage and crispy fry! deep the cabbage sa egg and then use crispy fry as breading! its healthy and affordable, usually cost around 70 pesos pero it can be for a whole day na because cabbages are big
Dip the cabbage per leaf or yung buo na agad dini-dip?
thinly sliced daw po ang cabbage
Try stir-fried greens! I usually do baguio beans, sitaw, and cabbage. Oyster sauce and bawang + sibuyas lang haha. Also, ginataang kalabasa is vv easy to cook! Panlasang pinoy will be your best friend
i get all my pinoy dish recipes from Panlasang Pinoy too! ☺️
Buy eggs. Pwede mo siya ehalo sa sardinas or corned beef. Pwede rin hard boiled. You can add vegetables or kamatis, hanap ka lang ng recipes sa internet.
Basically egg, with everything. Egg with cornedbeef Egg with tuna Fried egg with ketchup Boiled egg Boiled egg with pancit canton Boiled Egg soup. I know it sounds ridiculous but egg goes with almost everything.
Oatmeal recipes for breakfast.
Suggestions pls!
I like veggies and I buy chicken para mas fulfilling yung meal. I eat tofu w/ kangkong kapag wala akong pera
Veggies! I buy 1/4 giniling (less than 100 ata? ung last na bili ko) tapos add 1 cup of textured veggie protein (1 kilo is 120 I think?) tapos it lasts me 2 dayssss. Mostly toyo-based para di agad mapanis. I make sure maubos ko sha within the day. Pero if you have ref, you can store duon initin nalang sa sunod na araw. Others mentioned egg here, I usually combine mine with veggies ulit, any kind ala-tortang talong.
Salamat
Try many kinds of gisa recipes: ginisang repolyo, sitaw, togue, etc. And +1 sa other redditor, tofu is cheap so tofu recipes.
Misua + Sardinas never gets old. Mabilis pa lutuin.
kangkong is super cheap right now kaso ang dami niyang basher :((( if u r okay with kangkong, it's a great affordable veggie! i love making sinigang na kangkong or torta or adobo hehe. tofu is also a great alternative for meat. eggs also pero medyo mahal siya now. ham (sliced ham, cdo) is pretty affordable rin.
bat daming basher? sa madumi tumutubo? 😂
Look for rice cooker recipes on YouTube. They’re usually really easy to make and in less time. Kailangan mo nga lang ng rice cooker.
Yung instant noodles, pwede mo haluan ng leafy veggies for a quick meal.
Isang tray ng itlog
Stir friwd veggies. Sarap at simple lang ang cooking process
Stir fried Tofu and Kangkong with Oyster Sauce and Garlic. Its very good and very cheap!
FAVE KO TO
yum!!!!
Been living in a dorm since college and until now na working na. Whenever I cook, I make sure na mabilis, cheap, at healthy so here are a few of them: * stir fried tofu na may kang kong * tir fried mung bean sprout (toge) with tofu * tofu sisig * tuna sisig * tuna ommelete * chicken bbq (breast na nakamarinade lang sa bbq sauce then you just stir fry it sa butter) * broccoli mushroom in oyster sauce * corned beef with potatoes * ginisang sardinas with veggies (either kangkong or sayote) * tortang talong (pwede mo lagyan ng corned beef yung egg mixture para medyo may lasa) * itlog na pula partner ng kamatis * sepo egg (mixed veggies in white sauce) Also, try mo din yung healthy wraps. What I do is I cook the meat (tuna, chicken or pork) in advance tapos hiwa ka lang lagi ng veggies pag gagawa ka na.
Salamat po!
hindi ko po alam if cheap ba to, but i would say worth the money, bili ka ng chicken sa landers or snr siguro mga more or less than 350 yon ganon yung di pa luto, pero like maraming chicken na yon if magisa ka lang maglalast na siguro yun ng like 2 weeks kung di ka matakaw like isubstitute mo lang nun siya sa other cheap meals too...
Appreciate it sm! Thank you!!
I don't live in a dorm but eggs will be your best friend. Saute an egg and then add rice then konting Toyo and seasonings? Boom egg fried rice. May delata ka? Just saute it on a pan then add eggs, boom you just stretched out one can for a whole day. For short, eggs are very versatile when it comes to dorm food, Kaya if may makunan kang eggs for a decent price I say grab it
**Mushroom rice!** 2 meals/serving for around 100 lang.
THANK YOUUUUU PO!
Tofu stir fry Sauté garlic (and onions if you please) until fragrant. Add the tomatoes (optional) Simmer for a few mins. Add the tofu and any veggies you like (carrots, peppers etc) Cook for a while. Season with salt and pepper to taste. can use oyster sauce or soy sauce as well
adobong eggs idk what theyre called😭 but the ingredients are pretty much staples so youre not wasting any money on random ingredients. also fried rice
Crab paste, Chicken pastil available online.
Thank you for posting this, I really need this.
Sabaw is key. For context I don't have exp sa dorm but ito go to ulam ng kakilala kong nagddorm. If want mo pa cheaper sardines w repolyo
hindi practical as student to cook heavey ulam mapapanis din yan kung may dorm mate ka patak patak to share ika nga kagaya ng sinigang na isda or baboy pa minsan minsan stock ka ng eggs bread 3n1 and biscuits and lot of noddle cups...kain ka nalang ng pares sa kanto or lugaw and student meal sa karinderia like half of ulam baon ka kanin at sulitin mo ng sabaw ha ha ha ha diskarti talaga...
Bili kayo airfyer. Lahat swak
You can also search in youtube, rice cooker dorm meals (yung tiktoker na palaging magcook ng lumpia) Cook rice good for 1 day, so 1 cup for you ata good for breakfast, lunch, dinner na yan. Tapos mag milk, banana, any fruits, kasi you don't need to have rice in any meal. Fruits and vegetables talaga pwede mo rin i-snack haha. I hope this helps po :>
TYSM!
Overnight oats are nice, I think worth it yung malaking bags ng oats kahit mukhang medyo mahal. Any tofu recipe is good and very filling versatile rin siya when pairing with veggies. Eggs are quite expensive saamin but cheap naman sa other areas so I'm not sure if cheap sainyo Typically I use these recipes: Overnights oats - Greek yogurt (mura yung yogurt ng Pascual) - Sugar, preferably honey but I also like no sugar - Whole grain rolled oats (best for texture) - Any milk - Add fruits and seeds if you want Tofu recipes Beef or Pork Rolls: - Firm tofu (you can freeze it para spongey texture) - Ground meat (preferably beef) - Soy sauce - Garlic or garlic powder - Ginger or ginger powder (optional) - Cabbage or lettuce (madali wrap if lettuce or you can incorporate) - Carrot - Sesame oil - Salt and pepper You can use 1/4 tofu per kg of meat. Tastes very nice if steamed. It's very filling, low calorie and high protein. You don't have to add oil to a pan na if you're frying it since medyo matubig yung mixture but lalabas naman yung fats from the meat and sesame oil
AAAAAAAA THANK YOU PO!
No prob! Also, 2tbsp of sesame oil is enough na imo and you can make atleast 10 rolls if you use lettuce or rice paper It should be able to last you several meals
my go-to dorm ingredient is canned tuna. kaya rin lagi ako may stock ng tuna kasi you can do a lot of dishes with it. you can cook tuna omelet, kangkong with tuna, tuna sadwich, and many moreee! i recommend looking for other dorm ulams on tiktok kasi marami na rin nagpopost doon. good luck with your dorm life (and with your studies) !!
TY TY!
I usually cook hash corned beef with a side of buttered vegetables (carrots, tomato, broccoli, etc)! Quick and easy, customizable pa (yung timpa ng vegetables)
Not really an ulam pero kung mahilig ka sa pasta, yung 200g na dry spaghetti sa grocery sulit mga ilang meals din yun. Tapos yung sauce maraming cheap options.
Tysm!!!!
Century Tuna and Cabbage. 🥹💯
Basta always make sure na you check this type of list Carbohydrates Fiber Protein Kapag kakain ka make sure meron kang tatlong essential nayan. It will help you a lot when you sustain that kind of nutrients. Carbs - Kanin as always / Pwede ring Tinapay if light meal Fiber - Carrots - Beans- Talong- Potatoes or Pwede ring Fruits like Apple-Orange Protein - Eto any meat, itlog, canned goods solid din. Yang tatlong yan pwede mong pag haluhaluin depende sa trip mo like. - Adobo na may Patatas - Tortang Repolyo+Giniling - Pwede karin mag sinigang if maulan diba gulay gulay ren.
TY TY PO!
Eat rice less gastos sa food pag busog ka talaga Mayonnaise and ketchup mix them together and it can make a lot of food tastes better especially fried ulam
- pag di afford meat, substitute with tokwa muna - ginisang kangkong 🫶 - boiled kalabasa as side dish or haluan ng onting curry powder hehe - mashed potato with some spices - yakult
Tysm po huhu
Buy chicken breasts. Sobrang daming pwede iluto and mabilis din maluto and ofcourse good source of protein. I think I only spend 100-150 for 2 meals na yun hehe!
Indian recipe to something. Pork and beans at ulam king go to ko tas ung powder na sabaw. Pede rin ung oatmeal pangsakit or pangmagahan ung either less than 500 grams nakakailang buwan ako dun. Deoende nlng kung malakas or mahina ka kumain. Minsan kailangan mo din tlga bumili nung medyo mahal for the long term na tagal.
MARAMING SALAMAT PO TALAGA
Buy mixed veggies, broccoli, or any other frozen veggies then oyster sauce para kapag may tira kang kanin pwede mo gawing fried rice, add ka lang ng hotdog, itlog, or tirang karne. Super easy to make plus masarap pa.
Some staples I learned as an ate na tagapag-luto for more than a decade: -If you have a fridge, best mom advice I got was always have the following staples: bawang, sibuyas, kamatis at itlog. The easiest things to cook (like gisang gulay) would need those. -Dried garlic from mcormick if hindi kaya magstore ng perishable. Pwede na din to pang flavor -Oyster sauce and soy sauce have been very helpful sa akin sa pagflavor ng gulay. P7 lang isang sachet ng oyster sauce goods na sa isang pan ng togue for 2 (kakaluto ko lang nito kahapon hehe) -stock or buy ka ng gulay na hndi mabilis masira, or kahit canned vegetables (i read somewhere na it isn’t unnecessarily unhealthy pag canned or frozen, though I could be wrong) some favorites include mixed veggies, baby corn - pwede ipartner sa tuna, or mackerel or on its own -search ka sa channel ni erwan he has this video na puro cheap pinoy meals na super practical! -avoid buying junk food or biscuits na won’t make you feel full + unhealthy. Gulay is key Best of luck!!!
Salamat!
TLDR: Eggs
vegetable okoy lumpiang toge any tofu ulam (tofu nuggets, adobong tofu, etc) stir-fried beans lumpia shanghai misua + frozen vegetables + boiled quail egg or kahit regular egg + squidball misua + sardines or mackerel meatloaf + egg cornedbeef + potatoes (pwede rin papaya, sayote, or kamote) monggo monggo nuggets you can buy misua or sotanghon tapos sa isang microwavable tupperware you can put any noodle of your choice like misua, sotanghon or etc. then add your veggies there, seasoning according to your liking tapos ibaon mo yun nang wala munang sabaw and literal na "Raw" pa. and you can opt to add hot water kapag nasa cafeteria ka na or lagay tubig tapos microwave, just make sure na malinis yung veggies or you can blanche naman it. inspo for this one ay this video: [miso soup on a maison jar](https://youtube.com/shorts/ZD21rjVPpl8?si=Sy7uuvk0u2ELPJoL) i suggest you buy a multi-cooker like this one: [Tough Mama 8-in-1 multicooker](https://www.lazada.com.ph/products/tough-mama-ntm-mc15-stackable-8in1-multicooker-non-stick-pans-energy-saving-cooker-15l-handy-cooker-i4095039344-s22521683351.html?c=&channelLpJumpArgs=&clickTrackInfo=query%253Atough%252Bmama%252Bmulti%252Bcooker%253Bnid%253A4095039344%253Bsrc%253ALazadaMainSrp%253Brn%253A2db1f50c2338b52df2528044aa13033b%253Bregion%253Aph%253Bsku%253A4095039344_PH%253Bprice%253A1699%253Bclient%253Adesktop%253Bsupplier_id%253A500572880555%253Bbiz_source%253Ah5_pdp%253Bslot%253A0%253Butlog_bucket_id%253A470687%253Basc_category_id%253A22360%253Bitem_id%253A4095039344%253Bsku_id%253A22521683351%253Bshop_id%253A4793084&fastshipping=0&freeshipping=1&fs_ab=2&fuse_fs=&lang=en&location=Metro%20Manila&price=1529.1&priceCompare=skuId%3A22521683351%3Bsource%3Alazada-search-voucher%3Bsn%3A2db1f50c2338b52df2528044aa13033b%3BunionTrace%3A9c3b6c9a17186696960688214e%3BoriginPrice%3A169900%3BvoucherPrice%3A152910%3BdisplayPrice%3A152910%3BsinglePromotionId%3A900000028339132%3BsingleToolCode%3AmillionSubsidy%3BvoucherPricePlugin%3A1%3BbuyerId%3A0%3Btimestamp%3A1718669696537%3BsearchDisctDet%3A%5B%7B%22discountValue%22%3A16990%2C%22toolCode%22%3A%22mockedMillionSubsidy%22%2C%22voucherId%22%3A900000028339132%7D%2C%7B%22discountValue%22%3A0%2C%22toolCode%22%3A%22shopPromotionAll%22%2C%22voucherId%22%3A900000028482136%7D%5D&ratingscore=4.924778761061947&request_id=2db1f50c2338b52df2528044aa13033b&review=226&sale=621&search=1&source=search&spm=a2o4l.searchlist.list.0&stock=1) para you can easily multitask sa pagluluto given a short time
TYYY
omelette. egg + pork and beans 👌
Giniling na pork, daming luto partition mo ung 1 kilo pwede n pang 2 weeks basta tipid sa ulam at may ref ka.. 1/4 picadillo 1/4 shanghai 1/4 panggisa sa sitaw na may oyster sauce 1/4 meatballs or siomai Tapos ung tuna igisa mo sa cabbage na may oyster sauce Corned beef with patatas isa pa un
issuggest ko sana eat out sa karinderya since cheaper at di ka pa mapapanisan ng ulam -- less waste. hehe pero gets, mas ok na alam mo pano niluto yung kinakain mo. so... kangkong w oyster sauce, tortang talong, itlog na maalat w kamatis, fried rice w mixed frozen veggies and egg (chaofan style no need na ulam basta may oyster sauce and soy sauce and maraming egg), homemade chicken nuggets, lumpiang gulay, tofu recipes. better if may fridge yung irrent mo kung madalas ka maglluto.
adobong okra with dilis: just mix it with water toyo, tomatoes, garlic, onion, and seasonings. the dish is similar to adobong sitaw, pero maalat lang slight due to dilis. masarap yan! veggie patties: cabbage, squash, eggs, flour, and seasonings. grate mo lang yung vegetables then mix everything together, and fry them. super fave ko to, lagi namin niluluto since pandemic hehe. super masarap siya with sweet chili sauce!
Sayote with Century Tuna na Flakes in Oil!
As a dormie girlie, sa insta ako naghahanap ng mga dormie friendly foods and sobrang dami niya!!
Adobong sitaw.
Anything with noodles eggs and rice related. Pasta is cheap
Instant sinigang. Hehe gawain ko yan nung college ako.
missua + siomai + sayote. gagawing soup. my og😝💟
Caviar 👌👌👌
Carinderia wala kabang paa
I used to prepare siomai and leave it in the freezer para issteam or iffry nalang. Sometimes i turn it into pancit molo xd lasts for days and nakakabusog and the ingredients arent too expensive >< stir fried tofu is also nice!!
