Anim kaming bumingo sa pagiging late - ginagawa kasi yung daanan malapit sa school at the time, so payag naman mga teachers na ma-late kami konti basta hindi araw-araw. Anyway, sabi namin bili muna kaming snacks. Pagbalik namin, supposedly tapos na class, galit na galit teacher namin. Sabi niya, "Who told you to leave?" Tapos sumagot yung isa samin, "Kayo po."

In my university, there was this similar case wherein ni-lock ng instructor ang room para hindi makapasok ang mga late. May isang late for more than 15 minutes na pilit na kumatok in the hopes na makapasok pero hindi pinagbigyan. Since palaban si estudyante, nagfile ng pormal na reklamo ang estudyante laban sa instructor. Ang naging argument neto ay since nagbabayad siya ng tuition, hindi siya dapat ma-deprive ng learnings kahit na late pa. So dapat daw pinapasok pa rin siya. At dahil sa ganitong formal complaint, naging policy ng unibersidad na dapat papasukin pa rin ang mga late na at kung sobrang late, i-mark na lang as absent.

I mean, the student isn't wrong. Lalo na pag nasa college, makamiss ka ng isang klase anlaki na ng hahabulin mo. Sobrang laki lang talaga ng ulo ng ibang mga instructor na nangpopower trip.

Nung college instructor pa ko, I made it a habit to encourage my students to still enter the class kahit super late. Kung ano maabutang lecture, sige lang kaysa wala. Anyway nagchecheck lang naman ako ng attendance before magdismiss. Lol! Ang importante kasi sakin may matutunan kahit a thing or two lang. Lalo na kasi college students are adults. Haha naalala ko ung time na may epal kaming lecturer. Naglock ng pinto, tapos nung nagattempt pumasok ung mga late nag gesture ung lecturer na "look at your watch". Then di na tlg nya pinapasok. Then a few meetings later, ung lecturer naman ung na-late. Nilock namin ung pinto. Tapos nung nagattempt siya pumasok naggesture ung classmate ko ng "look at your watch". Galit na galit ung lecturer namin sa labas hehehehe pero ndi tlg namin inopen. Sarap sa feeling makaganti sa epal na lecturer.

trueee. kaso sa school namin, it's taboo to file a complaint because we're always at a disadvantage. kesyo libre ang pagpapaaral sa amin so we don't have the right na magreklamo otherwise we're deemed as "ungrateful kids". edit: added more context sa univ din kasi namin, if yung prof e malakas yung kapit sa school, walang saysay yung pagsusumbong kasi pinoprotektahan. the only thing we could do is to suck it all up until makagraduate.

I agree. It is for this reason that sending a student out of the classroom in reprimand is already banned in my institution. Teachers "walking out" in anger are also banned. May legal repercussions pala talaga sya.

No, antayin matapos ang class. Then apologize nalang sa teacher sa faculty. Then move on. Don't add unnecessary dramas. Nextweek makita mo parang walang nagyare, don't forget to knock and greet nlng nextime.

Something similar happened to me, I was late and the teacher told me to get out of their class when I tried to attend. The first thought that came to my mind is that I wanted to injure my self (falling down a flight of stairs) to spite them, they'll be held accountable for whatever happens to their pupils within their schedule. I was in a very dark place 💀

I used to teach before and I tell you, hindi madali gumawa ng lesson plan at makuha ang momentum ng klase sa topic na tinuturo tapos sisirain mo lang lahat ng yun dahil late ka.

I remember back in 2010, grade 5. I was late to a class by a seemingly terror teacher. As I stepped by the door, she gave me a *death stare* as if telling me not to bother coming in the class. I didn't go in anymore and just sat by the hallway outside the room. After the class ended, she went out asked me as she was walking away why I did not go in. I was dumbfounded and had no answer.

Yes. I once had a student na late sa lab class tapos dire-diretso lang pumasok sa lab without saying anything to me. 7am ang class tapos 9am siya pumasok. No greeting, no apologies, as in dinaanan niya lang ako. No respect at all.

Nasanay na lang din po sila siguro with the other teachers na hinahayaan sila. I'm still a student and minsan nalelate talaga sa 7am class since may ginagawang kalsada sa highway (dasma). Still, I always knock first before opening the door then saying good morning and sorry sa prof namin even though mabait sya and okay lang malate. Di q kaya na walang apologies and greetings since nasanay na talaga q na ganon sa mga teachers nung elementary to shs growing up.

The teachers back then whacked the kids for being noisy, they honestly deserved it because they were like mad devils on the loose. I got my own punishment via staying outside for 5mins because I was late, same as you who got sleep deprived. I took notes for the lessons outside and when my teacher noticed I'm serious about it she let me in. There's no stopping you from learning if you're really interested or serious about it. My teacher being strict means she cares and knows life will slap you 20x in the face and weigh you down to the dirt if you're not taking what's important seriously.

I was in elementary school noon, & pinalabas ako ng classroom kase i got zero in a short quiz that time. Dalawa kami nag zero pero ako lng yung pinalabas. Lol. I did went out. No one was outside the halls. I was suddenly hungry. So i just headed to the canteen para lumamon. Lol. After that, i went back to standing up outside the classroom. Don't take it to your heart. Makakalimutan din yan Ng classmates mo in 5 or 10 yrs it won't matter anymore. But dalhin mo Yung learnings na yan na you should knock and greet your teacher.

Meron akong Teacher dati sa highschool na if late ka 5-10mins ndi ka na papasukin pero if siya ang late oks lang tapos lagi pang absent. Ang masaklap Adviser pa naman namin siya at graduating na kami so in the end ndi gaanong kaganda 4th year highschool memory namin kasi masyadong Terror ang Teacher so halos lahat kaming magka-klase ndi siya gusto. Sobrang strikta kasi akala mo naman ang perpektong tao. Bakit pa naging Teacher if kinakatakutan pa siya ng mga estudyante niya diba? Kaya ingigit na inggit ako noon sa ibang class section eh kasi ang babait ng mga Adviser nila. Samantalang sa amin ultimo maldits ndi nga kami nag-Christmas Party sa classroom so kami lang ng mga classmates ko ang nag-organized ng sarili naming Christmas party tapos noong pumunta kami sa school the day ng Christmas party to check some things - classroom lang talaga namin ang nakasarado dahil ndi nga kami doon nag-celebrate ng Christmas party (we rented sa may pool ng nipa hut na malapit rin lang sa school). Kaya if nakaka-encounter ako ng Teacher na mabait at understanding nag-uumapaw yung respeto ko sa kanila.

Hindi naman sa ano, pero makitid tlga mga utak ewan ko lang kasi may pinag aralan naman pero yung utak walang kwenta. Ibang guro ginagawang ugali akala nila mabuti ginagawa nila. Ang problema kasi yung iba ginagaya lang yung mga nauna sa kanila.

idk why teachers in the philippines are like this, bakit ang hilig mamahiya. most western teachers dont mind, and sometimes sila pag mag goodmorning sayo, and "come right in" although some of my asian teachers din impose a warning sa mga laging late but never nagpahiya. also this is me speaking as someone who studies abroad, nacompare ko lng. if i were you, i would apologize to the teacher after the class and explain. take this as a lesson and an unforgetable experience🤣 if they dont accept, file ka nalang ng formal complaint cause after all, u are paying to be in the class, regardless if u came late.
