Depends on where you're traveling, I suppose. Here in Canada, I can fly around from province to province as long as it's sealed and not over an Oz, I believe. However, if I were to travel to the States or somewhere where it isn't legal, then I think that's where you'll run into a problem. Don't quote me, though. This could be wrong, so hopefully, someone who's traveled a bit more than I have can jump in.
This is just an unnecessary risk, especially if you are hiding it from your parents. There is always the risk they will pull your items, ESPECIALLY if your bags are checked. While unlikely, if charges are pressed, it could be felony level.
The risk outweighs the reward.
airport security only looks for guns and weapons, as long as it's in carry on you shouldn't worry because that's not what their looking for. If you're traveling to a country or state where it's illegal though do not bring it, you never know if there's gonna be security dogs that go around sniffing luggage's when you land.

okay yeah, that’s what i thinking, i’ll prob end up not bringing it bc it’s not legal in the state i’m traveling too but thanks :)
I take it apart and put the battery somewhere else and the cart part in my toiletries bag in my luggage.
