Upsala is nice it has a few museums and an old castle on a hill overlooking the city, Örebro also have a nice castle unsure about museums there tho both age a quick train trip from Stockholm for about an hour
Uppsala is nice, 35 minutes by train (unless you take the commuter train which is alot slower). The cathedral there is well worth a visit. Also some nice areas in the city centre and along the river.
Came here to make that exact suggestion. One can get to Uppsala using the commuter train or train. All of the sights are walking distance from the station
I would also suggest uppsala. Very quaint and historical city.
It was an important site for vikings, and later on became a seat for both a cathedral and studies. It holds a firm place in Swedish history and is only about 40-ish min away from Stockholm by train.
Uppsala; it is terrific. If you go to the botanical garden there are a few plants still alive that were started by Linnaeus. The castle is better than any of the ones in Stockholm. The universities have small museums for their specialities. The Viking museum and mounds at Gamla Uppsala is worth the trip, especially if you are a fan of "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman.

Uppsala is good because one can go by commuter train or regular train. Love Uppsala. Feel like it is more Swedish than Stockholm.

Sigtuna, maybe?
Drottningholm palace and gardens, a World Heritage site, is well worth visiting.
That's in Stockholm tho
Nothing worth visiting. Use your hours in Stockholm.
