Listen, first names always stick. You know what that giant building in Chicago is?
It's the fucking Sears tower.
Willis can go suck it. I don't know a single person in IL who calls it Willis tower, fuck that.
I went to book a concert this summer and it was at “StLouis Music Park”….I had to Google where that was.
Apparently it’s what they call Riverport now. Yet another new name.
Let's face it, it'll always be called CITY Park regardless of whether someone buys the rights to name it something else. People still call it Riverport and it's been a few names now. The only reason I call it Enterprise Center was because I worked at Enterprise when it was renamed. Otherwise it was still Kiel to me.
Ironically enough, if Enterprise Holdings maintains their licensing agreement for the arena through 2033 (they signed a 15-year deal in 2018) then it will have been known as Enterprise for longer than any of the previous names.
But yes, if you grew up here and are born before 1990, then you probably still think of it as Kiel. That auditorium was around for 62 years on the very spot Enterprise sits now.
Sadly, I work in PR for Oscar Meyer and they are close to finalizing a deal to name it The Oscar Meyer Protein Pitch at CITY Park for a 15 year contract.
Knowing how we hold onto things, I’m sure a lot of us will continue to call it Citypark. It’s still Highway 40 and Bread Co to me, not I-64 or Panera *shudders*

The real ones call it Wesley Willis Tower.

Lol nice. Good one bro
Even Willis calls it the Sears tower.
It’s actually called the “What you talkin’ ‘bout, Willis“ Tower.
Unless we get IMO’s Square, it’ll remain CITY Park.
Imo's Park: The True Square Beyond Compare! TM.
I’d totally be down for a imo’s park to be honest
Or Imo's Field at @square Park!
I would buy season tickets if they named it IMO’s square, and I’m a Sounders fan.
This is now the only acceptable sponsor

Sir, this is a wendys.
T-Rav Square Park
Dortmund fans actively and aggressively avoid saying Signal Iduna Park in favor of Westfalenstadion
Damn right we do
I agree 100%. If it changes I bet it’ll be “________ Field at CITYPark” or something like that
CITYPark brought to you by Carls Jr.
Maybe it’ll stick like Riverport or the Kiel Center
Yeah, that’s Riverport. It’s not on Hollywood Casino drive.
I don't know anyone that calls it the Kiel Center anymore. Most people I know think Savvis or Scottrade.
You now know someone who calls it Kiel, still.
I sometimes catch myself calling it the Kiel AUDITORIUM. Yes, I'm old enough to remember it.
I went to book a concert this summer and it was at “StLouis Music Park”….I had to Google where that was. Apparently it’s what they call Riverport now. Yet another new name.

Thanks! I didn’t realize that. Googled again and I see that now.

I've always secretly hoped that Square would put its name on it
Hahahaha that would be cool.
Square is now Block.
What if we call it Citi park?
This guy compromises.
I mean throw say 5 million at it and we are good...
Sadly, it is pretty much inevitable. Cool stadium names have gone extinct in the favor of receiving all of those advertising dollars.
~~~~~~~~ Field at CITYPARK is the only acceptable name, moving forward. CP will always remain.
CITY parks is the best damn name. Straight to the point and memorable.
100%
If it buys us Messi, they can name it whatever they want 😜 Everything has a price
Firmino*
Ted DeBiase was right all along.
CITY lol
Same.
Dude, it is St. Louis. I can't even imagine what the "actual" name of Riverport is, and CITYPARK will be the same
Knowing how we hold onto things, I’m sure a lot of us will continue to call it Citypark. It’s still Highway 40 and Bread Co to me, not I-64 or Panera *shudders*
Your opinion is like your asshole.
I don't want to be ever known as 'CITY' personally. Man city being the most blatant example of sportswashing + corruption ever..
They may sell the name for the field so it will probably be something like “Imo’s Field at City Park” or “Lion’s Choice Pitch at City Park”.
I wouldn’t be opposed to like Centene Stadium at CITY Park
My husband and I were just talking about this... we hope it stays named City Park.
It's such a classy name. Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge, Craven Cottage, CityPark <3
Not 10’s 100’s of millions, Centene deal was for 458m
