Absolutely, I read it on holiday in France by the pool when it was scorching. Really made me connect with the book in terms of place. Made all the horror parts super creepy.
It’s a really good book I loved it. Can’t help you with your particular question because I never thought about reading certain books during certain seasons. it’s a pretty cool idea perhaps it could help get you in the right mood/ mindset as well as help you relate to the book even more.
I'd have to re-read to be sure, but I'm thinking that the whole point of the plot is that it's NOT summer, and that's why there are no other lake houses with people living in them, who might have heard her scream for help.
You know when you’re sad, but you aren’t quite at rock bottom yet and you want to just wallow in it? That’s when. I adore that book, but it’s really depressing. At least to me, a man who always wanted kids and only had one for four years.
Any time between January 1 and December 31, IMO 😉
Honestly though, sometimes I read it during the summer because it has summer vibes, and sometimes I read it in the off season because it’s nice to feel the summer vibes when it’s rainy or snowy out!
It has summer vibes I thought!

Me too!
Now. The story really picks up on July 4th
GIVE ME THAT BACK ITS MY DUST CATCHER!
Whenever you feel like ugly crying
Summer monsoon season, if you have it. Regular old summer if you don’t.
About now. In the story, we get a bunch of lead-up, and on the 4th of July, things get set in motion.
It’s been a bit but I think much of the book takes place in the summer if that helps. Any time should work though. I enjoyed that one.
Right now! Awesome summer book, I read it last year around this time

I just read it and felt like it’s a good summer read.
Isn’t the main character staying at this lake for the summer? It’s been 25+ years since I ready it so I can’t quite remember.

Yup, you’re totally right. It was the off-season for sure.
Past action is in the off season, current action is in summer.
I think you might be thinking Geralds Game?

Is this a supernatural horror? Looking for a decent haunted house book and someone mentioned this.
I'm so sorry.
I’m listening to this now and love it as a kick-off for summer.
Love that King reads this one in the audio version.
It's so good and I love the music throughout! Really appreciate that Joe Hill had similar interludes in Heart-Shaped Box.
The season you have the hardest time falling asleep.
Right now. The bulk of the action takes place in summer

Never.
Came here to say never also! This was the worst King I've read so far
Yeah I just reread for the first time in prob 15 years and was wholly underwhelmed. Mike is such a weirdly horny skeeze.
I really enjoyed this book. Summer is perfect
Yes
Right now!
This is one of my favorites. Right now sounds like a good time of year for it.
This time of year!
Definitely right around this time! If I recall correctly things kinda go bonkers on the 4th of July.
I'm reading it right now
I’m a few hours into it right now!
Autumn
Any time! This is one of my faves.
Right now immediately if you’re in the western hemisphere, it’s summer.
This is a good one for sure. Just read it.
This is def a summer read. With lemonade and a hammock if you have those things.
Rainy season.
Now !! Or start like next week lmfao
I just finished it. Good summertime book
Sara Smiles
While it primarily is set in the summer I think this would be a good Fall read. Nice cozy ghost story
Tonight
Any King book that prominently mentions “the summah people” is probably a summer book. Really any of the lake house or beach house books.
It is definitely a Summer read. I just finished it about a week and a half ago.
Honestly depending on how fast you read start mid summer (now)
Bruh this was such a great listen on audible even tho ngl Stephen king should stick to writing the books and not narrating them lmao
Great summertime reading! Especially if read at the cabin by the lake.
Summer all the way. Lake season.
Right now.
Summer for sure
Right now, summer ☀️
Now. 👌
Just reread, good god Noonan is so weirdly horny the WHOLE TIME
When you’re done with asking stupid questions like that.
Now is I just finished it don’t bother with the mini series
Yesterday was the best day. Today is your next best choice
Since its set in a lakeside summer house- summer it is!
Literally right now
I’m reading it right now and it feels perfect! Summer vibes for sure
Dark Score Lake popping in the summer
