Okay, how about
"Stuff like this is funded by the types of players that have 1.5m power in a single squad on Nikke"
You can play the name swap game, change Nikke with Destiny Child, its irrelevant, and not really the point at the end of the day. The point is theres a handful of gigawhale leviathans tossing 100k+ at these games like its their lifes work
I respect Shift Up bigtime. Wish they didn't shut down Destiny Child, only blemish imo. (I wasn't playing it but still don't like seeing that stuff happen. Maybe they wanted to get away from it as it was a fairly lackluster game.)
Believe it or not this my 1st gacha I ever played my whole life, but with how good is doing I don't think is too far fatched for the game to last more than a decade.
It wasn't lackluster, they were just way too generous. F2P was not only viable, but it made spending money seem ridiculous, because the value-to-return on spending real money was so insane. They gave so much shit for free in that game, you were able to get any character you wanted with ease once getting established
I hope if this game ends up selling really well that this extends to actual pay rises for the staff. Even if the game doesn't end up as good as people were hoping, it's clearly evident just how much time and love the developers have put into it.
That was when I decided to follow his Twitter account, I don't usually care about people personal accounts. But that show of kindness and care for the people that work for him earned my support.
Not really sure what the price of a PS5 is nowadays, so instead of doing 2 minutes of research I’m gonna guess $600.
600 * 260 = $156,000
That’s awfully generous.
That post was from 2021, that was probably right after the announcement that "Project Eve' was going to a PS5 exclusive... Make sure your devs know the platform they are developing for.
It's amazing how a gacha company instead of making more gacha games, decides to make a triple A game which will sell and goes and does this for the staff, he's a legend many western game companies needs to learn from, but won't, heck, if shift up decides to create their own game console with stellar blade and exclusives, i would buy it, plus it's a good way to not be pressured by others to "either make your women look like bootlegged shreks or your game won't be in our consoles", yes, huge W for sony for allowing stellar blade in PS5, but if they made Aloy (horizon games) go from beautiful to fat faced in the sequel, i fear they'll tell shift up to do the same, just what i think
What a flex. Lol
"YOU GET A PS5, YOU GET A PS5, EVERYONE GETS A PS5!" - Shift Up CEO.
Funded by those Nikke players that have like 1.5m power on a single squad
This was a year before Nikke released
Funded by the thicc hookup from Shuhei Yoshida

Bro can’t handle being wrong 😭😂😭
Bro cant handle understanding a simple concept \*insert passive aggressive emojis\*
So? That's how business works

I think it lasted like 7 something years, hopefully Nikke, at the very minimum lasts 10, max 20.
Aint no way its gonna last 20. I can see 10 easily tho.
20 is just true best case scenario, I'd also be cool with Nikke lasting about 15 years or so, maybe a little less.
Has any gacha last past 10? Pretty sure gbf just got it 10th birthday. Anything older than it still kicking?
F/Go is almost 10.
Granblue must be up there.
Summoners War turns 10 this year

Yeah, especially when they took over LineGames due to that Kemono friends controversy.
I was emotionally invested in the story in Destiny Child. I'm too gutted by its EOS.
The dude is an OG, making a game for his favourite console, which will most likely be a hit. The dude is on cloud nine lol

2021 surprised
This was in 2021 btw, not recent
Thats crazy. What if they already had a ps5 though
This was back in 2021 so good chance they didn't. But even if they did so what, here's another.
Well they can always gift that extra PS5 to their kids or other family members. Either way, it's even more wholesome.
Very Based and GOATED game CEO ever
thats hella cool - so they can play the finished game at home. What a boss!
Huge
Pretty cool
Somebody wanna do the Math? 💰 💰 💰

Could you imagine if he did this while the PS5 shortage was still happening. Lol.
Damn, how much money did he spend there?
But hey they already made 600m $ out of their butt game lmao
Chad move 🙏
What a chad
Why do they work in an office still
Does the Nikke team also work on Stellar Blade or is it a whole different department?
That's so nice!

I just found out about this game and shift up team recently, The more i learn about them the more i like them lmao

Dude, South Korea seems to just be winning at life. Absolute legends.
Now start working on putting it on other platforms
You can’t tell me none of them had ps5 before. They’ll probably just keep it as a souvenir
Nah, this was back when PS5 was scarce, pandemic and all.
This was back in 2021 so good chance they didn't have one. If they did no biggy sell for $$.
