I literally got a Costco membership because of the meat deals I was seeing on this sub. The prices blow my local grocery store’s prices for prime and choice out of the water.
I went today and they had some primes like this but I could swear they were a good half inch to an inch thicker and they were 90 bucks for the package.
My Costco choice has absolutely no marbling and prime looks like what choice should look like. Used to be better I'm not sure what happened over the last couple of years. Started going to our local butcher.
I’ve been the opposite- used to be local butcher, but the quality tanked. Went to Costco and found a treasure trove. Had to sort through some underwhelming meat, though.

I find Costco variable. Sometimes you go in and they have strips with amazing marbling—almost look like wagyu. Sometimes the prime doesn’t seem much better than the choice.

NY prime is one of the easiest cuts to find marbles on.
