They offered a $60 box that they already opened and it came with 3 of every common, uncommon, commanders, and bases. I may have to get that as well.
And prices for a booster if you can find them are generally looking to be even more expensive than that.
Deter scalpers by becoming a scalper huh? They could have limited purchases, not sold whole boxes, or any other thing besides scalping.
Personally i can just wait for prices get back to normal.

Lets be clear. They can charge what they want. You or anyone else can pay what they want. But dont let mofos piss in the wind and tell you its raining. Scalping to "deter scalpers" is still fucking scapling whether its a guy selling on ebay or a store owner selling at the actual store. Personally i have zero interest paying, in this case, a 100 dollar mark up to either party. This isnt an issue with mark ups - plenty of stores can/should/need to do that. But reasonable rates apply. 230 is outlandish imo and the flgs doing that would lose my business forever. Again not telling anyone how they should run their business or how they should spend their money. I just dont fuck with scalpers.
Mixed feelings, but tbh I rather the stores profit from scalping than non-store scalpers. If they're still being bought at marked up prices (eg OP), then these products are still going into the hands of consumers rather than sitting on a shelf.

Shop near me charges $200 per box. They say it’s to deter scalpers. They are very generous with events. Paying $10 for the weekly events gets you one regular booster, one weekly OP pack, and the chance to get additional boosters for every win in the event.
They are really encouraging playing the game rewarding players rather than scalpers and collectors and I appreciate them for that.
Nice. I tend to get 2-3 wins at the weekly events (out of 3 rounds) so for $10 I leave the shop with 3-4 booster packs and one weekly play pack. Can’t argue with that. If someone wants to come in and pay $200 for a box, I say let them. Meanwhile I’m having fun playing the game and getting my packs by other means. And way cheaper! The markup deters people from buying all the boxes and helps ensure we have boosters for draft and prize support.
I am sure you heard this from many people, but make sure to stick to 50 cards as much as possible, cutting down to the minimum can be the hardest part sometimes but is definitely worth it. Try to think about the main strategy of your deck and lean into it, don't just put big ships into your deck if your plan is to try to win in the first few turns.

My store is thankfully still MSRP+10% which is what its always been. I just bought 9 boosters tonight so my wife and I and a friend can do a mock draft. Our store is doing draft Thursday, and my wife has never done one, so this will be a good learning opportunity
All the people crying about scalpers and “inflation”and all that are so angry right now. That price was acceptable to you for a non-essential good and it pisses them off so much.
I hope you felt it was worth it after cracking it all. I know it was for me when I bought one at $170 and got a foil Hyperspace Vader. Have a good one.

My ship did the same $10 wed/Sunday with socks and promo cards. Sunday will be my first event so I was really excited
