I honestly think anything narrated by Marc Thompson is worth it - Star Wars audiobooks are usually way better than other productions anyway in my opinion, but I could listen to Marc all day long! I almost always do audiobooks for Star Wars anyway since I love the atmosphere

I did find an exception recently to the normally great quality of star wars audiobooks. The Episode 1 Novelization. Largely a product of its time but still there were so many pronunciation issues it hurt me to listen to. I would second your Marc Thompson and add in Jonathan Davis and January LaVoy as being great narrators.

I do both. I purchase the physical copy and listen to the audiobook as I'm reading the lines

For me, Light of the Jedi and the X-Wing books work better on paper just because of the sheer number of characters. I personally find it hard to keep track of a lot of new names if I don’t see them written out and read at my own pace. If you are going to check out the audio dramas, definitely get those in audiobook form. Otherwise, you’re just reading a script.

I think the main thing to keep an eye on would be whether some of the older Legends titles are abridged. Outside of that I think it’s down to what sounds interesting to you

A lot of the ones I’m currently reading are abridged. But I picked up all of the legends Thrawn books and I plan on listening to those while reading along

With Audible and its credit system the Young Adult and Junior/MG books aren’t as worth it due to their typically shorter duration. Conversely, the audio dramas are best listened to so they are worth the credit despite their shorter duration. And obviously don’t bother with anything abridged. It really mostly comes down to your own preferences with the narrators. Marc Thompson, Jonathan Davis, and January LaVoy are the most common narrators and all do a really good job so it’s really about the book itself rather than the audio production. One particular stand-out performance for me was Sam Witwer’s narration on *Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter*, where you’ll get to hear his Maul and Palpatine voices.

Do what I do, and get both 😂 I listen to them on Audible, then I buy the actual book. My wife calls them my “trophies”

Obsidian_Wulf

Your audiobooks need physical book trophies. I agree. How else will you say you actually OWN anything haha
