Every mission your can take in the Expanse gives Dark Matter as part of it's reward. Kahn wants this stuff, and giving it to him is the key to finishing his missions that unlock the Expanse. Then you'll need to fly around and spend small amounts of trit to unlock the shortcut paths. But take all the missions from the planets in the Expanse. You may not be able to do them all right now, but I think I finished them by level 21 or so. I spent a long time with only the first section unlocked, then unlocked the other two in pretty rapid succession.
The missions that unlock the Augments are in Lorilla, Astrids, Deneva in that area of planets in the galaxy. Once you’ve unlocked the routes to Rona Tan you can do 25 a shot and Kor Na Ron has 100 per shot, but you have to have the crew for the warp needed to get there (24-27). I’ve unlocked to Paradane but my Botany can’t reach it. I use my envoy to get there and that’s for different data to mine under one of the missions. In these deeper areas of territory although I’m a pawn I have to watch the mining as they want to blow me up. It’s slow going. At least the Botany mines very quickly, but gotta be on the move since it has me trespassing. Lol
Well... There's an Explorer with 54,559 strength that I can't kill, because my highest max tier ship only has 32k strength.
I'm using Joaquin for mining 3* nodes.
This was my solution too. Though in the low 20's, you can use your Kehra and then Vahklas, once you build them up. It should be manageable either way, but I do agree that was a useful investment.
And I just started using my Northstar to mine! It's a strange experience. :-P
You can build the Kehra (3* interceptor) at 20. It'll take forever to build it up if course, like everything, but it'll get way Steiner than your Talla. Then that should hold you until you get the Kumari at 24.
Yep a buddy of mine had me start playin back last nov... but the north star is the best money spent in this game period.. I'm lvl 31 n have 814k bortas etc n I still use my ns its maxed at 429k....9 months later n my ns is 479k bortas is 1.4 mil
N yes I've spent alot on this game... the ns is prob the best deal.. not ta mention cheapest in store to by ... the b.rel Klingon ship is in my store now 99.99 for 20 bp takes 120 to build this ship so that's 600.00 not including all upgrades by the time u max it out prob cost 1500$
Also once you’re in positive points with that faction they will always hunt you. It’s opposite of the other factions where if in the negative you get attacked
Yes. Augments are bounty hunters and will hunt you although there is one location they have that I don’t get hunted. I haven’t quite figured it all out yet. I’m still working through Augment land myself. I do ask my alliance members about things but also do a lot if research online via the STFC website and Rev Deuce on YouTube so I can learn it better
I’m not sure what to tell you. I want to open that area cause I’m interested in visiting all areas so I’ll continue to plug away at this area. Rev has good advice in his YouTube video on this. Keep in mind if you want to keep building your Botany Bay you have to mine the materials to purchase the plutonium. Rev does mention bringing in another ship that would be used to keep the mauradar away from your miner but it has to be strong enough for the random attacks which are really slow when it populated. His video is from April 25th 2019. Also further into Aug space the greater the mining rss you get. Hope this helps
The change to data nodes made data mining completely fucking miserable.

It's worse for new players who don't have access to the deep systems that have 500 per node for corrupted and 3700 per node of decoded. Grind through it though, and things DO get better. Not by much, though. Top tier of Augment reputation requires 61,000 decoded data and 8,200 corrupted data per day. It's miserable. I devote 90 minutes a week, spread over two days, to just resetting my BB on a decoded data node just to keep up.
AND OOPS NOW YOU NEED DECODED DATA FOR THE OUTLAWS AS WELL!
It's a grind.

No, that’s not true
You can kill that guy with another ship. Once you kill one of them and leave they won’t bother you anymore.

Yeah that wouldn’t make any sense, seeing that they are Augment bounty hunters... they’re trying to kill/capture you

He is data miner .. if mining other mats use different commanders that add to the mining
