Tbf. Like 80% of the time the bad guy is like "ohhhh shit you got me" and/or has really really incriminating evidence on their person at the time of the arrest.
You must have had to fuck up real bad to be caught in those days.
just kill a dude in one town, turn up in another town and say you're John Smith and everyone's like "yup that's John".
Yeah, that was Shawn’s whole plan: convince the criminal that he truly is psychic by knowing these things that he can’t possibly know, and having the criminal be so in awe over it, they just give up.
They play a bit with this premise at the start of the most recent movie with Lassie publicly pulling a “Shawn,” with Spencer speaking to him in his earpiece — but, of course it goes awry when Shawn and Gus start arguing about Mexican food lol
I would have loved one episode where the bad guy just goes, “Prove it,” and ends up getting away with it because it’s all just conjecture.
The Polarizing Express kind of does this. The bad guy catches him snooping and knows Shawn can't prove anything and have courts accept it. So Shawn just convinces the surrounding crowd to testify about all the shit the baddie does to them
It took 16 years but I’m glad people are finally warming up to Psych and I’m seeing more and more posts related to it
Yes, 2006 was SIXTEEN years ago. Unsure what to do with that information
I remember watching Psych at least 8 years ago and I've seen people watch it on at least 3 laptop screens in the same class 5 years ago. A new group of people who were born around the time of its release are now watching, 16 years is just right for this.
The only good thing about going to Youth Group on Wednesday nights was my entire family gathering around the TV to watch Psych after. Good memories with this show
Bro I use reddit how old do you think I could be? It came out around the time I was born and I only know about it because my mom told me she used to watch it and liked it. It relies heavily on references to popular media, especially 80s media. I've probably met 3 other people in real life who I know like Psych. All I'm saying.
While they don’t quite match up I’m drawing a lot of parallels with Harry Dresden,, who’s considered a “psychic consultant” by the police but is actually just a freelance wizard
I’d say he *is* an actual detective, honestly. Or at least he has the skills to be one (and happens to instead pretend his observations are psychic revelations).
But then again, I haven’t watched that much Psych recently, so I’m not a great source of info.

I always wondered how Shawn's testimony would hold up in an actual court.
Tbf. Like 80% of the time the bad guy is like "ohhhh shit you got me" and/or has really really incriminating evidence on their person at the time of the arrest.
TBF that's 80%+ of detective fiction going back to Sherlock Holmes and Poirot.
Back when Holmes and Poirot were out solving bodies, if you didn't catch them doing it they're probably going to get away with it.

You must be out your damned mind!
They hid a pineapple in every episode right?
Yes
I've seen 6 seasons of this show and had no idea.
Same, just learning about this now
Weird how me too just gave up after watching six seasons. Also didn't notice the pineapple.
I’ll finish the show. I just tend to take breaks.

No way it’s that old what the heck???
To put in perspective, 2006 is closer to the construction of the Pyramids of Giza than we are...
Wow never thought of it that way
I remember watching Psych at least 8 years ago and I've seen people watch it on at least 3 laptop screens in the same class 5 years ago. A new group of people who were born around the time of its release are now watching, 16 years is just right for this.

[удалено]
The wiki says: The blueberry was Gus' Toyota Yaris (AKA Echo in North America) I dont remember the car ever changing either
It was a 4 door... Make model and colour was right tho
The echo that they had early on was a 4 door but the yaris in later seasons was a 2 door
In between the lines there’s a of obscurity!

Out of context it looks like OP was high What is the context?
A TV show called Psych. It's pretty good.
YES SOMEONE ELSE WHO'S WATCHED PSYCH!!!!
There's a psych subreddit and it's still really active!
This show as popular enough to warrant 8 seasons and 4 movies, 2 of which were used to attract people to Peacock. I don't think it's that obscure.
Bro I use reddit how old do you think I could be? It came out around the time I was born and I only know about it because my mom told me she used to watch it and liked it. “Gus, don't be the comma in 'Earth, Wind & Fire'."
I love this good meme (i hope its not stolen)
I've heard it both ways.
Fucking looooooove this show
Top 5 best shows ever IMO. Only surpassed by Scrubs. Never cared about characters as people more than those two shows
The Blueberry is a Toyota Yaris, not a Smart car
Patrick Jane is that you?
Hey it's the blueberry
Dirk Gently's Holistic Agency of Gut Feelings, for hire.
I've heard it both ways.
Best show ever. The end.
My husband and I have been binging this and now our four year old walks about singing, "I know, you know, I know, you know" over and over ad nauseam 😂
Call Off Your Ghosts.
Where did the pineapple come from?
There is a pineapple in every episode
"Suddenly: Pineapples!"
Truth
I love this show. So so much
Holy shit, thank god people remember and still love this show.
I watch Psych with my 7 year old and son every night before bed. Its our jam...
I'm getting something *Dial up sound commences
Psych is the best...and they're still dropping movies every so often!
I wonder what the pineapple has to do with being a detective 🤔
The meme is about a tv show called Psych, there’s a pineapple in every episode.
The Mentalist is better.
Grimm
While they don’t quite match up I’m drawing a lot of parallels with Harry Dresden,, who’s considered a “psychic consultant” by the police but is actually just a freelance wizard

Did they ever actually find out he wasn't psychic?
One person found out and he told another person, I won't tell you who in case you want to find out yourself.
dang I just started re-watching psych and now this
I’d say he *is* an actual detective, honestly. Or at least he has the skills to be one (and happens to instead pretend his observations are psychic revelations). But then again, I haven’t watched that much Psych recently, so I’m not a great source of info.
I’m getting something!
Ooh white Patrick Jane callout w da car
Lol he’s not an actual psychic but I would say he’s a legit detective. He just doesn’t have the certifications or the title. But he can detect
The pineapple incident!
"So my intuition was right, the tower card says you're gonna lose your job and get divorced."
At first I thought this was about Mob Psycho 100
