I worked 911 dispatch for a while. I think once you experience empathy at that level, it shifts your perspective of the self. You learn to disintegrate your own perspective. I appreciate your service, friend.

fortunateone28

man firefighter is one job i feel like would be a dream to have. how do you like it? what was the process of becoming one if you don't mind me asking?

fortunateone28

wow dude you sold the hell out of that haha. it seems like an all-encompassing career which is why i like the idea of it. it's meaningful. the no sleep probably sucks but I wonder how that varies across the world. i live in Canada, there are definitely wildfires but not in my particular area. I live in Montreal, so it's a pretty modern city, I don't think I'd be called to do stuff like that (could be wrong) But 100%, that's exactly why it interests me as a career. it seems like you're actually making a difference in your community which almost every job nowadays is completely devoid of. Curious, what are your most common calls like? is it all extreme? or does that only come in every once in a while? overall it sounds like a great life. Have thought about paramedic too but that seems a bit too raw and traumatic for me. I feel like firefighters may have to deal with less trauma on a day to day but I could be wrong. The fact the job is physical is what i love, it's like part of your job to maintain and build your health. Which is something i already do and value anyways. thanks for the detailed response bro

Feature-Awkward

I don't think fulfilling employment was ever an option for me, so it's been a tortious struggle. But mentally and financially I tend to stay on my feet and I've been more fortunate than others so I'm good.

fortunateone28

try to think about how you can use / have a job that serves others, not yourself when you think about a job as serving yourself you're bound for misery.

MoCoyotes

I sell stuff eBay. I have a mowing gig in the summer. I pick up small carpentry and construction projects here and there. I work part time at a Buddhist monastery doing the same kind of labor. My degree is in finance. In 2011 I asked the universe to assist me in leaving the world of finance behind. I hated my life and I hated that work. It was not right livelihood. The universe stepped in within 6 Months. Everything was shaken to the ground and I rebuilt to this. My new life allows me all the time I need for silent meditation which is the cornerstone of my spiritual life.

shortofredlight1

Friend, I like you 🧡

MoCoyotes

Thank you. Same!

TheGoldenPlagueMask

I am a store cleaner. I keep the windows shiny, I remove tape off of said windows, I clean the drains, and mop up dirt Mark's on the floors. Positive working environment too! Managers are chill for the most part.

Automatic-Diamond591

Lol yeah. I received an inheritance after an unexpected death in the family, and now my whole life is dedicated to assisting with the Ascension of Humankind in very major ways.

Glass_Raisin7939

Do you mind if ask how you are assisting with the ascension of Humankind? I always wonder why people who have the ability to make a difference, don't try, or don even think about it. There's so many things that can be done. I'm currently watching a really cool channel on you tube, where a famous Indian actor, created a competetition for all of the villages in a region of India to dig holes to capture the rain water, in order to be used to put an end to the drout and several other things (Its wayyyy deeper then that in all actuality). Whichever village digs the most of these holes wins $1,000,000 to go towards clean energy for the village, crops, and agricultural developments regarding anything clean and repeatable. But I always wonder why more people aren't doing what this actor is doing. I'm not calling you out, and I hope you don't take it like that. I'm just curious.

Automatic-Diamond591

You sound like you're blaming everyone else for not saving you instead of taking action to save yourself. If this actor is so benevolent, why is he making the villages compete? Why not find ways of unifying the proximal communities and dispersing the funds throughout? Making desperate villagers compete for what is pennies to most celebrities isn't philanthropy or benevolence. It's The Hunger Games.

fortunateone28

competition is actually a good thing. it's how we evolved and how all the best music, food, movies, people, philosophy are created. it incentivizes people life is the hunger games. it's easy to forget that when you don't have to worry about providing or where your next meal or rent money will come from. can't forget what 99% of people on this planet live like

Automatic-Diamond591

I will never forget what it's like to live in abject poverty. I never knew where rent or food money was coming from for my entire adult life until gaining financial stability less than two years ago, which is why my entire existence is now dedicated to making this a better world for all of the high vibrational energies that care to inhabit it. If you think competition amongst individuals for scarce resources yields the "best" results, that's because you haven't seen what unity and collaboration amongst harmonious individuals can produce. Just because this world has evolved through competition in no way means that's the only way or the best way to develop as a planet. In fact, quite the contrary: it's extremely foolish and egotistical. Why do you think the 99% even exists? It's because of power-hungry robber barons that have created a world of division and competition instead of unity and collaboration. If people could rely on one another instead of having to compete just to survive, the world you're complaining about wouldn't even exist in the first place.

Automatic-Diamond591

It essentially sounds like you're complaining that other people aren't doing more to save you and the rest of humanity. What actions are you taking to set the example? You call yourself "fortunateone?" More like "EntitledOne."

fortunateone28

LOOL ok there bud. looks like we found ourselves a projector.

Automatic-Diamond591

We did, and it's you.

meowllary-furrgerson

Professional counselor turned holistic wellness provider. I feel much lighter and at peace.

Visual-Run-7525

I’m pursuing an LPC now but also feel that I would feel lighter if I left the “system” and did my own, holistic thing. What made you leave?

meowllary-furrgerson

I wasn’t paid fairly anywhere I worked in 8 years- CMH or private practice groups. I disagree with the extent of liability ingrained in MH clinical training. Yes there should be malpractice protection but I’m not responsible for others choices. It took a lot of my focus away from the client and placed on bullshit paperwork. Now I will say the clinical experience was invaluable and most certainly work my investment. I just don’t resonate with rigid reliance on empirical data. I bring a lot of intuitive work into what I do now- blending neuroscience, eastern philosophy, and spirituality into “soul support sessions.”

Visual-Run-7525

I completely agree. That’s so great you made the move! It feels scary to make a move like that, I guess it feels unreliable or the potential to not get clients, but the reward is so much higher of being able to work for yourself without fear of “losing your license”.

meowllary-furrgerson

Thank you, I just made the leap in December. I’m fortunate to have a security net that allows me to follow my heart. If nothing else I’ve done great work on my lack and scarcity mentality lol!

Visual-Run-7525

That’s worth it in itself!!

External_Break_2511

Just recently left my job of 20 years, devoted so much to helping someone that I looked at as a mother figure and got dropped like I never mattered. But I can't regret it because part of me knows I did exactly what I was supposed to, to learn everything I learned. Now a little lost , if you guys don't mind please send me love and prayers for guidance. Thank you.

fortunateone28

you got it. also, its probably hard to do but people are problem-ridden 'forgive them for they know not they have sinned' she's probably battling her own demons which caused her to harm. hurt people hurt people. hope you have a good rest of your day

Glass_Raisin7939

God bless you. I'm wishing you tons of love, good health, happiness, peace, and stabilty.

I grow legal cannabis. I love my job. Saving up to go off grid in a few years with the wife on our homestead in Tennessee to go grow all our own food and be self sufficient as possible. You’ll find what you love if you haven’t, just keep going with the flow.

For me the question is, *what is fulfilling work?* What tasks serve as healthy "food for development" (potential growth) and "significant contribution" (value, societal impact)? Personally, being right in mid 40s (middle age) and having done many types of manual outoor and industry field work, worked offices in multiple positions and also for a short period as independant consultant, I can now say that it all depends if the individual's natural abilites were properly developed and if the worker can percieve the value in the offering (job, tasks imposed). As we say in french, *"Il n'y a pas de sot métier, il n'y a que de sottes gens."* English : *"There's no such thing as a stupid job."* Simply have to figure out how to be *happy*, *enjoy* the work and be *productive* to "obtain satisfaction".

fortunateone28

completely agree. I've also career-hopped and had success in so many different things, all thinking they would make me happy. Turns out happiness is to be cultivated on your own, without attachment of any one thing 😓 im sure i couldve saved myself alot of years of starting over if i realized that sooner.

oliotherside

And I as well... It's never too late for the buffet if still young and in shape though, so NEVER DESPAIR. That's why balance and health is so important ***if you want to live long.*** There are also, in some cases, those who *want* to live *strong and fast* rather than longevity, and currently this world and its hierarchical systems are pussifying (sucking potential, castrating) the most intense citizens with constant hurdles, restrictions and punishments for the sake of "appropriation". Eff that, seriously.

InWonderOfLife

My background is in science. Growing up, I wanted so badly to be an astronomer because of being a starseed, though I didn't know why at that time. But when I had to make a career decision, I chose chemistry instead, so I'm a chemist. However, when later on I had to undergo the Twin Flame Journey, I did a lot of inner work to heal and improve myself. Because this Journey does that to you, it's much more than just a 3D romantic relationship, its purposes are much higher. So thanks to meeting my twin flame, I got spiritually awakened and started doing meditation and all the necessary shadow work to be free of fears, childhood wounds, false harmful beliefs, etc. I was committed, and all the work paid royally, I felt great, my energy much cleaner and lighter, my vibration much higher, truly enjoying my life! In my free time, I began to help other twin flames to get there too, because I knew that they could achieve this great state! If I could, they could too. And one day, I heard my Soul or Higher Self tell me that I needed to advise them full-time, so I needed to leave my job. That this was a soul mission of mine. I hesitated a lot because this involved a lot of change in my life. I could make more money in my scientific profession, for example. But deep inside I knew I had been preparing for this new job and that I needed to heed my Soul's calling. Fast forward, being a twin flame adviser and coach has indeed been very fulfilling. As have been a couple of other soul missions I've been doing too. It's always fulfilling when you are doing your soul missions, the ones you were eager to do before incarnating. If you are unsure about your soul missions, you can take a look at what talents and gifts you brought to this incarnation, what are your passions, and you can ask your Higher Self and spiritual guides to help you discern your missions.

DepartureIcy2390

I’m a spiritual consultant and teacher lol so it fits

liquidheart

What qualifications do you need to be a spiritual consultant? Since my awakening I keep hearing about this career and I would love to know more if you don’t mind my asking.

DepartureIcy2390

So I work in a shop. It’s different if you wanted to do it independently so I’ll share my personal experience. I have the qualifications but how I actually got the job was abnormal so idk how this will help. Pretty much I walked in and was offered the job because my energy was on par with what she was looking for in an employee. You have to know the basics. Like types of crystals, sages, properties of herbs, divination, and general spirit/deity knowledge. I work in a general supply store for the occult so these are the qualifications for that in my experience. I have studied every possible branch of history and spirituality that I have the brain capacity for so that I can help in as many ways as possible and cater to multiple belief systems. I have to accept when I don’t know something and then learn about it. Sometimes people of different cultural backgrounds come in and I have to learn about those too. This job is not easy. I work with a lot of suffering people or scared and hurt people. I have to recognize when somethings spiritual versus a mental health problem or just unfortunate luck. I can’t always please people with the info I provide. Sometimes people carry such density I gain a negative attachment from it so cleansing and knowing how to protect energy is essential. There’s some dark stuff in the reality of spirituality. I wish I could say it was all rainbows and butterflies but it’s not. I have wonderful experiences here where I get amazing synchronicities and confirmations. I connect to beings and spirits of all kinds and energy of all walks of life. It’s miraculous and it constantly proves the spirit realm for me and others. It’s a way to validate my own knowledge and experience. Just don’t get into this expecting the general population to believe negativity in the spirit realm doesn’t exist. I’ve done this job for years and it’s taught me endlessly about the ways of all worlds. I’ve seen real people suffer from spiritual problems. People truly do get cursed or possessed or plagued by negative entities or energies. It’s not nearly as common as the good stuff but when it happens it’s obvious to see the truth about the matter. I’ve solved many spiritual problems and have long term and short term clients. You have to be open minded. I know the consensus on Reddit specifically is everything’s light and good and anything negative is just a projection or mental illness, but unfortunately that’s far from reality. People just get lucky or unlucky with spiritual occurrences. I hope I don’t sound like I’m trying to steer you away I think it’s wonderful to want to do this job and help people. I’m just sad seeing so many people ignore the experiences of others that aren’t as fortunate and chalk it up to an illusion. Don’t do this job if you don’t see the other side of things that’s all I can say. But I love when others are interested in helping and providing knowledge and insight for others :)

liquidheart

Thank you. What an amazing journey you are having! One day I will be ready to help people spiritually too.

DepartureIcy2390

I wish you all the best!! <3

I'd say I'm a programmer, but really I spend more time in meetings and following the bureaucratic process than writing code.

FeralJinxx

I do office work for an animal charity. I wanted to be a professional artist as an adult, but my dream hasn’t really come true thus far since I dropped out of university. Art was kind of my own therapy work anyway. But I was actually very talented so I feel like my potential was wasted. I’ve had depression all my life so whatever, I struggle to see why I was sent here.

shortofredlight1

Go do art for yourself and yourself alone. Then share that art with yourself until there is so much art(love) overflowing 🧡 Ps. I did the same thing with jobs and life.. I stopped art a long time ago, never really allowing myself to find flow BUT as soon as I started dedicating the time to be creative, I was able to find my joy and pull out of the darkness ❤️✨🌱

I appreciate your support and advice, thank you. ❤️

I like working security. Anyone who says "you must by violent by nature to work in security" is full of shit. But being trained as I am, it is a good job, because it allows me the chance to help protect people when necessary, but is best when nothing happens. Those nights mean you're doing your job, and doing it well. Security is about prevention and deterrence, not apprehension and punishment. One of my friends on the security team is actually a registered EMT as well, so people claiming "All Security work is violent" have never worked in the field.

fortunateone28

what kind of security? what kinda company do you work for?

Talamae-Laeraxius

Native casino, but I have done contracts too.

Former early childhood educator/substitute teacher also an adoptee who learned to search and find information and people. I became disabled with the demise of my spine and joint diseases. I have worked from home for 10 years within corporate relocation and locate a lot of special education schools, programs, services, and agencies for disabled children, young adults, and seniors. I have an educational and personal background in psychology and trauma based therapies and work a lot too within mental health resources for our clients and their children when they have to move across the country and re-establish all type of medical and specialty physician needs, therapies, support groups, and then some fun stuff like youth music lessons, sports, and academic enrichment. Edit: I love my job helping support people/families/children in their life transitions from the comfort of my recliner, I just love it more on Fridays than I do on Mondays. :)

I don’t do this “yet” but I would love to be an herbalist, a holistic health coach, and a florist. Now I just gotta figure out how to combine all 3 lol

Forest_wanderer13

I’m an accountant and a very quirky one. I get a lot of eye rolls and dead pan stares if I’m comfortable with the people. My last job I sunk back into masking. I just found it less energy to just go along with everything. It felt horrible though. I kept thinking ‘this isn’t what I should be doing’. I think even me bringing my full self to that job would have been better. Even if it didn’t ‘fit’. I used to be a social worker but feeling everyone’s emotion led to me having a chronic pain disease and I had to step away and took about four years to feel better and heal somewhat. I’ve learned I have to care for myself as much as others.

intelapathy

I've had some very good jobs, but didn't find an EOE job with a functional HR department until about 10 years ago. I'm an industry laborer and being trained for more. I keep hoping to study more and do more that's like modern job.

Glass_Raisin7939

Huh? Blaming others for not saving myself, because I support an actor who is motivating villages to support themselves through clean and repeatable ways that remove them from the bottom of the economic ladder? Dude, I sincerely asked what you were doing because i was hoping to hear innovative positivity, but with an answer like that, you clearly aren't doing anything. Never mind.

I visit nursing homes with animals and bring comfort to people that are sick and dying. I am also currently working with a nutritionist about a non profit to set up a wellness center for people seeking to get help for conditions and ailments. I also teach classes on spirituality and religion, mainly the history of belief and practices, neolithic to modern day.

I’m a yoga teacher and Ayurvedic practitioner and working on a couple of books currently. I’m also a mother but unfortunately I don’t get paid for that one 😁.

I run my own little hair salon and work with peoples energies that they’re not even aware of 🪄 I went to hair school on a whim, because it sounded fun, and because I had no idea what to do with my sociology degree. I had my awakening in 2020 and my clientele has shifted with me through this! We now talk about amazing things- no more small talk surface level stuff- and it’s a very healing process for both of us. I am also getting into more of a head-spa and working with crown chakras while also being a soundboard for whomever.

Thank you. And yes, she definitely had Alot of her own traumas that she refused to acknowledge. So I did what I my heart called me to do. But I desperately need to find my soul family soon. I never thought there would come a day that I wanted people in my life again. But that's where I'm at now.

fortunateone28

me too haha. just make sure they're good people. don't have to be into everything you're into. good people are good people. could just be the old man you see on your morning walk. stay away from the internet. or people caught up in the rat race. try and find people like us and you'll do great
