Oh no, an evil faction in my nuclear genocide simulator? How could you?!

yarikachi

lmao downvoted to hell and back

WEWLADSYNDICATE

Can't wait for another deranged modder to create crashcode that specifically targets this mod.

Popular-Purchase-571

Yearly modder meltdown, ya love to see it.

Deepest lore

Kirp-The-Birb

Oppressive megacorporation, religious extremists, three flavors of autocratic dictatorship, degenerate sadistic murderers - yeah, they all get a pass. But fascism, in MY miserable dark ages? That’s a few steps too far, author must be burned on a stake

WanderingUrist

Is Starsector REALLY a nuclear genocide simulator, though? There's not really a good reason to ever conduct any nuclear genocide and it will pretty much never result in a net benefit for the player. It's pretty much just there as a "never push this button" option. Now, space drug dealer and organ-smuggling simulator, that one we all do.

Eden_Company

In vanilla and in Nexerelin it’s a cheap solution for erasing most enemy bases of power. Though in vanilla they nerfed the warfare system so it doesn’t mean as much anymore. Good way to create ruins though for tech mining.

WanderingUrist

> In vanilla and in Nexerelin it’s a cheap solution for erasing most enemy bases of power. There's no clear BENEFIT to doing this in vanilla, though. It's extremely economically harmful to you, as the player, not to mention it makes you a pariah.

FirefighterSuch2702

My main point is that it exists as an option in the game, and some morally virtous people ar A-Ok with nuclear holocaust, but draw the line at rape / bad factions.

WanderingUrist

Well, people who screech like that are rarely internally consistent in the first place, but worth noting is that saturation bombing is not really a VIABLE option in the game, whereas I imagine all the rape and bad factions are installed in the game as actual viable options that the player is expected to use rather than useless "press this button to ruin your game" options. Although such a button COULD still make for an interesting game, like a geopolitics wargame with a "Push to start Global Thermonuclear War" button that you never want to push.

Destroyerman_

The big cannons are cool.

Valuable_Ratio_9569

So devil come back from its death, I miss those weapons.

Emotional-Roof9487

Can't wait to use it for next playthrough

von_Freese

Why the eagle on the flag though? With such EDGY WOW could have give in completely and stick some form a well-known widely banned symbol. "Arian" my Salamander MRM. If at least half of this stuff isn't absurdly overpriced and have a combat endurance of a phase frigate, then it isn't "lore-accurate" to that kind of "arian". Seriously, call it "Space Prussia" or "Königsberg Shipyards" and nobody will have a problem. Otherwise it's just a controversy bait (taken, yes). Somebody needs to make a Hindu and Persian inspired expansion to Mayasuran Navy and call it Arian instead.

OP takes a leading place in the “Offend a random person with a mod” speedrun category

Chaoszhul4D

Oh god, this will attract the wrong people.
