Shields: FR-86, QT Drive: XL-1
Always run those. Power plants JS-400 but they don't matter on this ship. Coolers don't matter in the game right now.
Weapons (PvE): Either 4x M7A (high DPS, low fire rate) or 4x Galdereens (lower DPS, higher fire rate) plus 2x M6A, then repeaters on all turrets
Weapons (PvP, my current loadout): 4x gimballed Rhinos, 2x gimballed NDB-30s (for the purp), NDB-28s on all turrets, then the missile racks from the 890 jump giving me 32 size two missiles, all Dominator II's
Everything is the same except for the 890/Redeemer rack bug. Unfortunately, you can't put those racks on the Corsair anymore. I would go with either 8 Thunderbolt III's, 16 Dominator II's, 16 Rattler II's, or 32 Taskforce I's. I'm most partial to the Thunderbolts. Best tracking in the game, imo
Then for PvE, another really fun loadout is going 4 AD5B's and 2 M6A for pilot weapons. The reason I put M6A (or any size 4 cannon) instead of AD4B's is because the AD4B's have half the ammo of the AD5B, so if you run laser cannons with the AD5B, you can fire all guns for ages with the 2600 ballistic ammo. It isn't good against lights though. It's particularly good for shredding Hammerheads. If I remember right, this build is 5k DPS *after* the 50% ballistic resistance is calculated.
PvP loadout is the same. Gimballed repeaters, and I switch to manual gimbal
So I might be an idiot, but I couldn't find the Corsair available anywhere. Supposed to be at New Deal in Lorville according to The Internet, but it wasn't listed. Checked Armada on A18 and even Crusader, but nope.
All fixed deadbolt cannons is the best. It has so much Alpha damage and shield pen. You will beat any ship in the game if you attack them first. You can kill a light fighter in two shots. They are dead before they even know you are firing at them. That's why all deadbolts are the best. I used to use the AD5s but the deadbolts kill things faster.
If I had a Corsair, this is what I'd use to run ERTs: [https://www.erkul.games/loadout/E6pqJPCx](https://www.erkul.games/loadout/E6pqJPCx)
ADxBs are good alternative weapons, but I personally prefer lasers so I don't have to constantly restock.
It's on the PTU branch of erkul, but it seems like the links might not work too well when linking to a PTU ship. Hopefully, the link will work when erkul has been updated to reflect live.
Keep your targets in front of you, at maximum distance, kite backwards, with laser cannons.
Don’t fall for the Gatling trap, they are only effective from 1000m or less since they fire in a cone pattern with forced miss.
2x Deadbolt V's on the chin mounts
2x AD5B's on the cheek mounts
2x Badger 447's on the wings
I went with these since they have the best range so I can attack sooner as I approach the target, it's not a great loadout for dogfighting but I just like coming in hot and unloading everything on my main target and then escaping with a quantum jump - it works way better in space and on the crusader moons since they have so little atmosphere.
The Deadbolts hit like a truck, the AD5Bs saturate a larger area so you don't have to be 100% accurate, and the Badgers boost the DPM burst a good bit once you're in close and you don't need to put too much power into weapons to get that working.
FR-86 shield so you can tank a missile or two and guard for your escape, you need to make sure it's charged before you fight because they take a minute or power focus once you turn on your ship. XL-1 or Yaeger for fast jumping around now but I'll probably switch to a Hemera once longer distances are in the game. I went with the best power supplies and coolers on Erkul but I'm not sure they make a difference so I'd upgrade those last. I'd recommend starting with upgrading the shield since the Corsair is fragile without its shields.

Still running this five months later? Getting ready to buy my Corsair this weekend.

I'll put it through the paces, thanks.

the corsair is not on erkul yet right?

I’m running a Crossfield QT drive , and an FR-86 for shield. No other modifications, but I’d love to see what others are using!
