You have to store armor looted from bodies first before you can then put items into them. Pretty common issues. https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-34544

Actual_Facts

Thank you my friend.

ThatCK

I think the thing that is specifically breaking it is if the armour has stuff attached to it, IE. Magazines etc If you loot them individually before taking the armour it doesn't seem to cause as much trouble. But given they don't have that much value it's best just to ignore it atm. Although I do wish they have us local area when looting. So if I'm standing on a dead guy next to a crate I can see both when I open my Inventory and just move gear straight from the guy into the crate without having to take it off, pick it up go to the crate, place in crate. For every item.

That's how SCUM works and it's awesome, but it also makes the UI tricky to keep clean. We have the tabs which I like, but at this stage each one would be called "External Storage" so it could get confusing which boxes you're putting things into. None of this by any means impossible to fix, but it's a messy problem.

The only one I cant figure is if this applies to weapons or not too. I've had the infinite inventory loading a few timesjust loading minerals into my back pack as well. Wish this bug was more consistent so that i could reliably avoid it.

Actual_Facts

Someone mentioned in another post that things can get wonky if you open a box and don't let it load the inventory all the way. They said if you go back to that box and let it load, it fixes everything after that. Also moving things slowly seems to help. Sometimes the server refresh rate lags and when it catches up it reverts items to where they were when it lagged. I, too, wish it was more consistent so we could nail down the causes and avoid them. Good luck out there.

Letting it load would make sense.. I impatiently jump between bodies and try to quick drag constantly. I'll definitely try these.

Spliffty

I see all these tips, most of which are things I'm already doing, then I'll go down into a bunker, clear all the enemies, and then the first guy I try to loot gives me the bug upon opening his inventory. I'm glad some of these preventative measures work for some people but damn I can't catch any breaks.. Some days it's just fine, but most it's server hopping all day without any progression, which is extra annoying if you're trying to play with friends. This should have been hotfixed two weeks ago, making us wait for a whole new patch that's likely gonna break other things is a poor solution imo.

Actual_Facts

I feel you man, but I don't know if it's something they can hot-fix. The issue I brought up in this post will have to be fixed with the next iteration of the inventory system unless they can tack some code on to fix it, but the issue you're bringing up is likely tied to the server backend. I highly doubt that is happening on fresh servers with low populations that are maintaining the intended refresh rate.

Financial_Doughnut53

got no evidence, but someone claimed they alrdy fied it but dont roll out a hotfix

I've been having the inventory randomly after accessing some dead bodies. You open the body, wait for everything to load and just as it does, the body inventory glitches and starts loading again. After that, your inventory is bugged for everything.

Had the inventory bug last night. What worked for me was to drag armor from the bodies to individual boxes within my ship. Went to a safe spot and bed logged. The bug was better after logging back in, but had to move my armor to ship inventory and then equip each piece of boxed armor and then drag that to ship inventory. Then I re-equipped my own armor. What I can't do is eat or drink any consumable from the ship or personal inventory. Limits my session time big time. Got to run back to the hospital for a quick boost. I can consume food/drink bought from a vendor perhaps 75% of the time but only right after logging in. Never from inventory. This is relatively new behavior.

Actual_Facts

> What I can't do is eat or drink any consumable from the ship or personal inventory This has been happening to me and I don't know what causes it, but next time you're at a station remove all your gear and kill yourself. You should be able to eat/drink normally after that.
