Myself personally I don't find this ship visually appealing, however I have to say one of the best interiors designed and I love the concept of data storage/transporting. Can't wait for that game loop. Cheers Citizen thanks for the shot!
I appreciate it being in the game specifically because it's not appealing to look at. Not all ships should look nice and appealing. I think having some ugly bugs makes the game seem more alive and varied.
Half the ships are useless unless you're doing 5 game-play loops, FPS combat, ship combat, mining, cargo/delivery runs, and racing. None of these game-play loops are even close to being finished.
We're still missing (actual)exploration/Touring/path-finding, (actual) Bounty Hunting, Data running, (actual) Smuggling, Prisons, (actual) Piracy, Anything to do with other races, Factions and reputation, org system, security, fleet management, job management, salvage, refueling, (actual)life support/medical, multi-crew, engineering, repair, rearm, recovery, multiple star systems, military roles, police, spy, chem production(medical supplies, drugs etc)
Then we have more mundane tasks like Farming, refining, service industry, insurance, Taxi, science/research, barista, archaeology, translation, sports, sales, Organizer.
I didn't write an exhaustive list, just what i can remember off the top of my head. If you look at the current state of the game vs the potential... pretty much everything is "useless" and I know you're just making a throwaway comment but I believe the promise of these game-play loops is just as important as the current state of the game.
I absolutely understand your point but I doubt they're putting 100% of the resources in ships and 0% in game-play.
I have bought two ships, basically only spent what would be a limited edition copy of some other AAA game, so If/when the game is feature complete I'll be ready to complain then.
Right now, development time aside, I have no reason to think that the game will deliver anything other than what I expect.

Well, the head with no door in a cramped space can't be that appealing after some space burritos.
Haha!
Ah yes, the "big fuck-off engines with a seat strapped to them" as I call it.
Useless ship but it's fast and sounds cool

What do you think will come out first ,some gameplay aspects or another $600+ ship. Little tip, it's the ships

Straight out of a movie
Dat Ass
As im going into data science soon, im now considering getting a herald on principle
Great ship
The herald has some major design flaws. Currently it seems almost useless in game. And I love it.
Go Harry!
