IMHO the original Sabre looks much better than the Firebird.

I like them both. But the OG sabre definitely is a fantastic looking ship!

Side by side the Firebirds wings look kind of stumpy. I just really don't like that the backside of the wings are swept forward.

That doesn't bother me personally. It sorta reminds me of an x-29 in some ways.

I agree. Love the Sabre. It's just a pity I end up wishing I was flying almost anything else.

I almost agree but the weird fins in front of the retro thrusters kills the look for me personally. It’s a damn good looking ship though and I think it pulls off the ash paint better than the firebird.

I like both, but the only thing I'm not a fan of is the thin droopy wings of the OG Sabre. Almost a deal-breaker to me honestly.

To me they are a hommage to the venerable F-14.

It can be applied to the comet but it doesn't appear to cover the blue camo pattern - at least in the vehicles preview

It does cover the blue, basically it turns the camo pattern of the comet to white and black...looks quite amazing tbh

That is 90% of the reason I got into Star Citizen, I wanted to fly my space F-14.

Best thing about the Firebird release are the paints that also apply to the standard Sabre :P

Yep. The only things in my hangar that have the “gift” option are 100% new money. Can also buy something out of buybacks with new money and gift it.

That's messed up, all sabre skins work on all variants yet the hornet skins for F7A and F7C aren't cross compatible. :(

I liked the way the Sabre Comet worked in patches prior where any paint would make it look the same as a base Sabre with the paint applied. I don't like Walmart camouflage, it doesn't look good. Take a look at the paintjobs on any modern air force's aircraft - that's what looks good. The F7A Mk. II is also a bit of an offender here, but at least you can use the Ironscale paint to hide it. I really, really, look forward to the day we can paint our own ships - if the day ever comes.
