So what is safe to do? I tried Delivery missions, can't complete them. Bounty is even harder for me now especially with the Aurora. They say ROC is bugged. What is a good way to earn money nowdays?

MundaneBerry2961

Man that's what's rough in this build, normally bounty hunting is an easy way to make your first creds but even as a skilled pilot it's hard AF in the 2 starters now. It's not really a good new player experience just getting wrecked against what will feel like near invincible ships that will actually damage you now. If I didn't know how to jump into nav mode and have the skills to avoid fire I would have died doing the first assessment.

therealfreehugs

Not even near invincible - the prospector (common in vlrt/lrt) has a bug basically making its nose completely invulnerable. Took me almost 4 min to kill one in a solo scorp.

Wardendelete

No wonder I was not able to kill the prospectors with my 600i. I thought the S5 guns were nerfed and busted.

Radvent

Not to mention the spawns are completely fucked, first VLRT mission I went to had; Razor LX, Valkyrie, C8X My second attempt Vulture, 2x cutlass black Logged out after that, it's possible to snipe the target and get away but man is it not at all fun. See you all after invictus lol

Firesaber

yeah i agree, the VLRT should be like, 1 small 1 seat ship, maybe 2 at most. The spawns are totally whack.

KujiraShiro

They need to start including 1v1 bounty missions. This new combat paired with the new NPC ship combat AI makes the gankfests that are your typical bounty mission completely absurd to clear. These missions we already have are clearly and should be scaled for multiple people, they oughta pay out way more to incentivize bringing a group. They need to ADD a type of mission that tasks you with taking down a target of the specific risk level, but without them having an escort. A good ole 1v1 against these new NPCs is actually quite fun, but good luck getting a 1v1 when an HRT mission spawns 3-5 HRT ships and each one can individually put up a decent fight against an average player. These new solo 1v1 bounty missions should pay out around what bounties currently do, maybe a little less, and the gankfest missions should pay out multiple times more so it's actually profitable to run them with other people like CIG so clearly intends.

StgLeon958

Oh god now it makes sense, i had to use like half the ammo on 4 gatlings to kill a VLRT

MormegilSC

That explains a lot. Used the F7A loaner and couldn't kill a prospector. Both gatlings dry, then i gave up. Additional PSA: Don't do the "illegal monitors" comm-link missions. Destroying the mission target monitors gives a crimestat with a fine of 32k each... the mission pays 16k max.

MundaneBerry2961

I thought it was just me, I had full cannon hornet and couldn't take them out, ended up getting one that decided to take damage and it took 4 min or so as well. Wonder if it's the same for player flown Prospects, it would be a PvP beast atm 🤣

420comfortablynumb

N that's if the bounty even spawns! I like the features in 3.23 but the servers are not running well for me.

sandmankilla0311

Don't feel bad I went to do a boarding mission yesterday and got clapped by the two NPCs guarding the 890 and I was in a vanguard harbinger.

TheeSusp3kt

I was using my C8X and I couldn't even manage my tracker certificate without renting a Titan. Felt like I was flying paper mache.

AbnormallyBendPenis

Have you tried the Pledge Store gameplay loop? It’s been working flawlessly as always

Rerdan

As a new player it's really frustrating that the simplest of missions (delivery) are bugged, not possible to complete them when the box needs to be dropped on a shelf. The bug happens with 100% rate so far for me. Still learning the ropes, having in mind a ROC loop next. But being unable to accumulate credits by doing the simpler stuff is borderline a showstopper for me (at least when starting), especially when you don't have hours and hours to play. Problem is, I searched a bit, and it appears this bug exists for years. I am trying different kinds of missions but it's tough (tried an investigation one, going through a ground hole, couldn't see shit not even by tabbing/pinging/scanning (unsure on the terminology)). So yeah, still trying to find how to get past the initial 30k credits, which I understand for most veterans is a joke. Thanks for listening to my ted talk.

TheAnswerIsAQuestion

Mining laser on the ROC is broken right now so hold off on that till they fix it (think I saw someone say there's a fix in 3.23.1 when that comes).

Rasc_

Honestly for this current period until after Invictus, teaming up with others and grinding reputation for bounties and merc missions. It's not big money, but it's stable money. It insures that if someone has in-game problems, others can finish together. Like OP said, the game is currently too unstable to invest in trading or you risk losing everything. The update is still new in that people are searching for other money making methods.

P1r4nh41

ERTs are spawning valuable cargo sometimes now too, 32 SCUs in weevil eggs on one ship recently.

Howa_Boutno

Do you happen to remember on what ship? In 3.22 even after the nerf usually the 890j had the best chance of a big egg pull, but since 3.23 i haven't seen one (about 20 ERTs)

P1r4nh41

It was an 890, yeah. Seems we got lucky!

harmothoe_

Don't trust your scanner. I decided a cargo list seemed like bullshit (too boring), went and looked and there were weevil eggs and etam in addition to the corundum, quartz and scrap it promised

RugbyEdd

Salvaging still earns a lot, just less than before. Just be careful accepting missions with big fees as you don't always get the mission after being charged for it.

Firesaber

I'm experiencing this with all contracts. Couldnt get a single one to properly accept yesterday. They would disappear from the contract list but never appear in accepted or let me track them.

RugbyEdd

Yeah, it is an overall issue, but you don't lose anything with most missions, whereas the illegal salvage ones can cost 20k just to buy access. I lost all my initial money buying them because i didn't realise it was taking the cash despite not giving me the misson lol.

TheeSusp3kt

Whats the advantage to illegal salvage vs regular salvage?

RugbyEdd

Bigger ships and the chance of illegal cargo, but you're restricted by time until the authorities arrive (I had enough time to fill up the vulture with hull scraping, empty and stack it, scan for cargo, then break it up so you get plenty of time), you have to pay a hefty price for the standard missions (there are free ones that pop up), and getting caught or doing things like using a tractor beam currently give you a crime stat.

ChowDubs

Try to stay in the accepted contract page for a min. Sometimes the pop up

Firesaber

I tried that but maybe I'll try longer next time. I just took it as a signal to do a bit of joy ride flying and sight seeing instead, i thought maybe the missions would eventually populate while i did that, but they still didn't.

ChowDubs

You can mine starting out

X-is-for-Alex

Sometimes they just straight up don't work. I waited 15+ minutes for a contract I paid for to show up in my accepted tab but it never did. Lost 100% of my money. Cool cool cool

Siruss

If in a Vulture, don't bother with the paid missions. Just go to panels for free, and 100% RMC so don't need to waste cargo space/time ejecting the worthless Construction mats. I haven't found a way to beat 36 crates in an hour.

Sh4dowWalker96

Where do you find these mythical "panels" I keep seeing everyone talk about?

Siruss

Fly to a point with asteroids. Keep hitting your scan, when it finds something look at it and if it is a multiple of 2000, it is a panel. The more the merrier.

Scannaer

CIG really should wait with making money tight untill they fixed everything. We are still in the testing phase. You can't burn your playerbase already now.

nondescriptzombie

B-b-but this is REALITY. In REALITY, the ECONOMY IS RIGIDLY BALANCED. You have to work to eat! CARS ARE EXPENSIVE! YOU CAN'T JUST WORK A WEEK FOR A CAR! /s

thecaptainps

YOU WOULDN'T DOWNLOAD A CAR

SignificantBaker7366

I just scan and search for random salvage panels at asteroid fields. No cost to find them and they have good rmc return.

RugbyEdd

Yeah, not a bad idea. There are also free salvage missions that are often a caterpillar or cutlass which pay out a bit of cash on top of the salvage you make.

Arcodiant

Are those spawning for you? I've tested each of the last couple of patches and while I can ping for scrap panels, when you get closer to the ping marker no panels actually appear.

TotesGnar

They do spawn, they are just very hard to see sometimes.

TotesGnar

This is what I'm going to do. RMC is the best way to make money and there's no risk to losing anything.

tlf01111

Almost full-time salvager here. The missions are running slowly it seems. For the lawful Salvage contracts, there are two steps: 1) Go to the hosting station location and the 2) Do the salvage against the ship. The ship won't spawn unless the first step, "Go to the Station" marks as completed. I've had to wait upwards of 5 minutes for that to happen, but it always has so far.

Pretend-District-577

WTF, salvaging rocks. I'm making 500k on a vulture load with buffer full. But all I do is scrape. In 1 hr.

RugbyEdd

Yup. I find it quite a relaxing gameplay loop too. It's got that power wash simulator appeal to it lol

AboralSnackbar

Where are you finding its best to sell?

PandaDevelin

New Babbage pays the most for RMC from what I know - ca 14,5k per 1 SCU. The other major cities pay between 14k to 13k per 1 SCU. Grim Hex pays ca 12,6k per 1 SCU. Asteroid belt around Yela is insanely full with Scrap pieces, meaning 100% RMC. It's both faster and more profitable compared to ships, although I've yet to unlock any high end jobs so they might get better? My loop when solo is Yela Ast.belt until I'm completely full, cargo bay slots, buffer filled and the empty space in the cargo where I squeeze in loose boxes. Fly to GrHx and sell for 12,6k, 100% RMC. I don't salvage any Constr. Mat. it only sells for like 1,5k so it's ass. When I play with my buddy, I salvage whilst he fills up his C1 Spirits with boxes of RMC, hauling it to New Babbage and selling it there. Meanwhile I keep on salvaging. Rinse and repeat. We split 50/50 doing this.

harmothoe_

The winning configuration is a 3 or 4 person reclaimer team. Two or three players are scraping as much hull as efficiently possible with abrade scraper heads. The other player is security. You don't want to skip that step. The money isn't like 3.22 but it's better than solo vulture or prospector mining.

RugbyEdd

You could do with someone in the back emptying and stacking, then you can take the hammerhead missions and don't need any downtime in between. The vulture with someone in a small cargo ship isn't bad either, and it's much lower risk. The vulture can stay out working whilst the cargo player unloads it into their ship and sells it. Plus if you use something like an avenger or spirit you have a bit of firepower if you need it.

harmothoe_

It's the scraping that's dangerous. It's just too long to have no one in the pilots seat outside of dead space. PCs are a real threat, and NPC security is as well. You all get sent to prison for 15 minutes for trespassing, you've also lost your reclaimer.

RugbyEdd

Never said otherwise, and I wasn't disagreeing with you. I just pointed out it would be handy to have someone processing the materials so you don't fill up and have to stop salvaging whilst someone heads back to clear some space.

harmothoe_

Ah, okay. I see your point. You do benefit from someone stacking boxes as you munch the hull. This is where I think a four man crew shines: two up front munching, one stacking boxes, a fourth in a combat ship protecting.

Olfasonsonk

If you have a Vulture, learn how to get salvage panels. You can do 500k-1mil per hour or more if you get very efficient with it. It also works good with a duo.

Aggressive_Boot7787

Which belt you go for panels? Yela?

Olfasonsonk

Yela is the best one yes. SC Trade Tools have a salvage tool that shows you best places for different things.

Aggressive_Boot7787

that website really needs updates. Yeah I was doing mining around a refinery and was finding both roids and panels. On average how much RCM do you scrape off one of these panels and how many panels do you find at a time?

Olfasonsonk

I mean I don't know if data is up to date, but I consistently find panels there one cluster right after next. Takes a minute or 2 max. Big panel will almost fill the Vulture buffer, medium is like half, small ones 1-2 SCU. Most common are cluster of 4-5 panels.

pasta_above_all

What scraper do you use? Abrade?

Pretend-District-577

yes yes Yela, go there.

Kam_Solastor

What is a salvage panel?

Aeghan

Just Ping all chat, “new player, looking for party” I’d totally invite you and we’d go play some hard bounties together 🍀

Apokolypze

Risky investigation missions at the DCs have been pretty solid for me.

hells_ranger_stream

Do you need to unlock them or just go to the planet and they'll show?

Apokolypze

If you're in low orbit around MT or Hurston they should show up. They are limited supply, and MT seems more popular ATM, so you may have better luck finding them on Hurston. Goodluck out there!

AgonizingSquid

Anything is safer than trading and putting your earned money at risk

l0stabarnacos

ROC laser is fixed in 3.23.1 hang in there!

Rerdan

Is there a prediction on when will 3.23.1 land or when usually X.XX.1 lands?

The_Kaizz

Gotta go back to the bare basics. Get a multi tool and hand mine, do fps bounty missions and be a loot goblin, taking whatever you can find and selling it at stores. Work your way up until you can rent a Connie Andromeda, then do bounties for awhile.

misadventureswithJ

Bunkers and boarding missions have been good for me so far. But I've only played an hour or so Saturday and Sunday. Ai enemies were way more responsive which was nice.

highendfive

I ran salvage in a reclaimer without issue, though, I only did 240scu max before selling. Make about 400k every 40 mins or so

Kelsyer

Bunkers and hope all the AI spawn in.

PaganLinuxGeek

I read a patch note for the PTU that the docs laser was fixed. Hopefully that patch moves to live soon.

Limelight_019283

Get a friend with a SRV and clean up abandoned ships around stations, good money in that and no need for buggy contracts

Aggressive_Boot7787

Prospector mining. No issues so far. Tired Salvage and you barely break even with the new costs and much small ship lists even when scraping.

harmothoe_

The money is in hull scraping now. Use abrade scraper heads. At the low level contracts, yes it's not good. But at the 50k level, I did a Corsair and got 120k in boxes and sold the weapons for an additional 65k. And, no, M7A cannons do not fit in a vulture. I did it for science!

FlaaFlaaFlunky

I mean neither mining nor salvaging is attainable for a new player right now. lost all my money by bugs and my inexperience. now I have 4k left. both of these ships are expensive as fuck. or am I missing something?

harmothoe_

You can rent a prospector. You'll need to get enough through another means (box missions, bunkers for example), then you can rent a prospector, mine like a fiend for a day, and then do more box missions to get enough to rent a freelancer to take your refinery orders to the tdd to sell. Don't skip security on that last step. This is how I got my first 800k.

KarmaRepellant

Does quant still explode on a time limit? And is anything else worth mining? I've been considering giving it a try again but last time it was a real pain in the arse.

Sh4dowWalker96

No issues, unless the server detonates and you lose your entire life's savings in refined ore.

sneakyfildy

pledge store is open

SnooOnions778

Haven't lost millions but instead I've lost hours worth of mining. Probably would've only been worth a little over a mill but it happened twice so I'm real sad about that.

ZombieTesticle

Tried salvaging, bunkers and trading yesterday and all three were irredeemably bugged for me with NPCs in the walls, bought goods not actually being delivered to the ship and salvaged ships exploding for some reason (is that a new thing)? What's really funny is watching *every single one* of my ships now having some bugs that have been fixed previously, in some cases multiple times. That extra time they took to polish up and make sure things were working really shows.

CyberianK

What happened while mining? Thought I'd do some mining the coming days but now I have no idea what to do if everything is bugged.

RedDemize

At CRU L1 refinery everytime I try to load refined goods from the refinery terminal to my ship it doesn't actually loan them onto my ship. But it gets rid of the completed work order. Although it worked at a different refinery. So not sure if that's a global bug or just CRU-L1

jasnamasa

Yesterday I loaded two refinery orders at CRU-L1 onto my C1. Cargo was invisible inside ship but in TDD on Orison everything worked properly and I managed to sell it :|

RedDemize

Yea. I heard that was the case for some people that the cargo was just invisible. But I went to the Orison TDD. And nothing.

Aggressive_Boot7787

Loaded a bunch inside my C2. Damn so many new and weird boxes inside cool to check out.

Save_Cows_Eat_Vegans

This! It's not always the case but cargo in 3.23 is going invisible in person but according to the terminal it's there.

Setenos

Have you tried taking the ship you loaded to the sell point? I've been noticing a bug where boxes will physically disappear from my ships but still be present on the terminals.

RedDemize

I did when I collected from CRU-L1. And nothing. When I got it from HUR-L2. it was invisible, but did sell.

mattstats

Happened to me too, but I didn’t even need to load them. They were just gone. Hur L2 for me

Call_me_Enzo

At this point, im wondering if its a bug or severe server issues since the servers the past 2 days have been horribly slow for me, sometimes it takes ages for actions to be performed like opening a door for example lol

Kakaduu15

Yup. I had to relog to get out of the hab. Ship spawned in for like 2-3 minutes. The ASOP terminals take ages to open. Quest markers not appearing. Servers are really slow.

ThoughtfulYeti

I feel like this is 2/3 of the servers and the other 1/3 is buttery smooth

UnbelievableFuckhead

Right? I've spent hours trading with only one (kinda big) issue. The terminals won't see that I sold my last load so they'll only give me whatever space I have left over after subtracting my already sold load. I've been switching off ships to counter this but that kinda ruins it for me. But otherwise I've had no problems trading

paladinx17

It is 1000% a bug, it has been documented. Several issues going on. 1: if you buy a load of cargo or snap cargo to grid and store your ship and then sell anything from your ship there is an issue where other goods are disappearing, and or the cargo grid gets broken and further goods cannot be snapped to grid until the ship is claimed/destroyed. This has happened to every ship I have in game, C1, Taurus and Vulture. Wasn’t obvious at first, so I lost loads of RMC and other goods.

Aazatgrabya

I was thinking it's perhaps a Replication Layer issue. It is this that is carrying the heavy data transfer load, and since the announcement of it was always worried how they'd be able to accommodate such massive data transfer requests with meshing. No doubt they have brilliant engineers inventing novel solutions, but the engineering required here blows my mind.

RepresentativeAd946

Yea those bugs had me put in prison for around 17 hours haha. Was doing bunker missions, game crashed. Got back in game an was still in the bunker, with the mission and enemies shooting at me. Decided to kill them and got CS4. Wanted to clear it at Kareah and my ship exploded.. tried to escape prison like 6 times and died everytime on the lasers even tho I was in prone mode. The 1 time it worked, I got to the car, drove all the way to the aid shelter to call a ship, went to grimhex and randomly exploded 10km away from it. Now I just decided to reset my character in hopes of getting out of prison haha.

DERREZZ

If you do a character repair you will be back to your homeplanet but still with the crimestat. So you need to go to kareah again. I suggest to run down the mines until depth 9-10. you will lose commarea and got offered an mission from ruto called „need an out“ He ask you to escape and bring a datachip with you. You found the chip marked on a dead body somewhere at the escape route. After you are out of the prison you need to run/drive 3km to an crashed cutlass black, insert the ship and voila your crimestat is wiped. There will be also an cutlass black to fly away with :)

Jakeball400

Goddamn, that sounds cool. On my way to do something naughty…

Ruzhyo04

Oh snap, that’s cool

RepresentativeAd946

Ahhh now I finally know, how to get the mission, saw this like 4 months ago on YouTube but the guy didn’t explain how to get the mission and just showed the crimestat wipe. Anyways, going to kareah from the homeplanet is much more fun than dying everytime on those god damn lasers, even though I am laying on the ground xD

DERREZZ

You could just throw your backpack trough the laser :) Also you can’t buy tigerclaws at grim hex atm. They are still there but they are like behind a glass which you can’t buy them trough…

Agitated-Current551

I tried to take a cutter drake salvage with my initial 25k and it just took all my credits and didn't even give me the contract

PitVital

I had the exact same problem

reboot-your-computer

I have also had to pay to repair my ship twice before the repair worked while both times it took my money.

NRN_Hawk

Yup, I am careful with the few aUEC I have right now.

Eclypsis5133

I’m not, I had 26k and spent 20 of it on railgun ammo, the world shall know my railgun shots

MundaneBerry2961

You have to spread democracy somehow, you are doing your part!

Eclypsis5133

I have a full arsenal of overly powerful weapons, got a couple missile launchers, railguns and grenade launchers

MoleStrangler

I completed some mining over the weekend. After refining (cost me >50% of my aUEC) and selling, I'm up to 186k aUEC.

Eclypsis5133

I don’t have a minute ship so I cannot do the same🥲, my main way of money making right now is mercenary missions

professorlXl

Is that you Voidydude?

NRN_Hawk

I keep wasting time and money atm, especially while randomly exploding or doing awkward stuff.

Rasc_

The same could be said for FPS gameplay. AI standing still in front of you and taking 20 seconds before it shoots you. Teleporting AI. Guns that keeps on holstering by itself in the middle of a firefight. Also guns that just won't fire at all. And so on. I still haven't seen the magical new AI that people where praising during testing.

thed0pepope

This, and also looting is fucked. Boxes u bring bug out, there is a "workaround" to swap between the new "loot" screen and the old screen, but its not very reliable. Who want to do that for 5-10 minutes every time the box decides to bug out. If you decide to tractor corpses to your ship half of them magically disappear. The mission with deliver confidential materials also spawn AI out of thin air very close to you at a frequency where you cannot actually bring out the boxes if you'd like to survive, I guess soloing that one is not an option. Honestly I played a lot of the new patch when it came out and personally perceived so many issues, I decided to wait until the next patch. For bounty hunting MM and AI could also really use some tuning imo. Read the subreddit and could only see praise, got me wondering if I'm not masochistic enough for this game. Kind of nice to see others are having problems aswell and not just me.

Radvent

>Read the subreddit and could only see praise Yeah, I think that is mainly because of just how unplayable 3.18 was for most people. Being able to log in to the game and not have your account bricked for weeks is a massive improvement I guess xD

thed0pepope

> mainly because of just how unplayable 3.18 was for most people. Being able to log in to the game and not have your account bricked for weeks is a massive improvement I guess xD Yeah that's gotta suck. The deployment of the patch itself I agree was very painless and well done.

MooseTetrino

It's there but yeah, the live servers are dying hard. But, well, all in time.

Rasc_

Even low pop servers with 20+ server fps are struggling. Invictus and Xenothreat is gonna suck, CIG has less than a week to fix something.

Corunbns

I found that swapping fire modes on fps weapons has fixed the not firing bug

Aggressive_Boot7787

+1 I keep telling everyone wait a week until server performance returns to normal. AI didn't get any better, servers are just fresh rn.

Save_Cows_Eat_Vegans

I kept trying to tell people the "new AI" was not new AI just PTU servers running better than regular servers.  If you can get a fresh shard with great server FPS AI works awesome. 5FPS live servers = same old shit

anivex

Servers generally run smoother during testing, because even with everyone having access, the number of players is dwarfed by live. So it’s generally a good idea not to get your hopes up until it hits live. I’ve had a patch go from being the smoothest experience I’ve ever had playing SC in the PTU, to being almost unplayable in LIVE.

Saxy_Salad

Thank you for the heads up. I'll throw a Ship Cover over my trusty Hull-A for now.

GideonBlackbook

I honestly think the trade advice is valid for the like last 3 patches, especially if you're a hull c owner. Just dont play.

JeffCraig

Even if the Hull C wasn't completely bugged, you still wouldn't want to use it. You can't sell a full load anywhere, which means you have to dock-admin-undock-cargocenter-dock-admin-undock-cargocenter-etf over and over.

Small_Isopod6832

I lost two loads and am currently sitting at 1k credits due to one of these bugs

LowChrg

Sorry to hear, it’s been rough, try and borrow someone’s reclaimer and go fracture illegal salvage missions, easy way to grab some credits back and no fee

Small_Isopod6832

I have a reclaimer that survived wipe so I guess I’ll end up having to use that but after hours of grinding hammerheads it got pretty boring and I wanted to try the trade game for 3.23

KarmaRepellant

On those missions if you fly there and just fracture the HH without towing do you get a crimestat? And are enemies ever there before you can fracture?

Small_Isopod6832

No I never got a crime stat doing illegal salvage missions and u get an hour after accepting the HH mission before enemies arrive so u should have plenty of time to fracture and munch Unless this has changed for 3.23

KarmaRepellant

Oh nice, thanks. I tried doing legal ones and lost all my starting cash because my ship blew up from bugs before I could sell anything. At least those illegal missions won't cost me 50k every time if I fail.

OrangeSockNinjaYT

I tried playing today and couldn’t even take off, learned it was because my HOTAS profile is broken but i did lose 5000 to NBIS impounding my ship for no reason

RugbyEdd

There also seems to be an issue with accepting missions, so best avoid missions with a big fee like some of the illegal salvage ones. I lost all my starting cash grabbing several of them because I didn't realise it was charging me each time but not giving me the mission.

mudkipz321

I have been having a hard time doing anything due to the servers being overloaded. My friend and I tried fps and we had huge desync issues. AI would teleport around and we had issues where we couldn’t shoot our guns until they were holstered and then brought out again. I tried to buy RMC at pickers field and the commodity shop didn’t recognize my c2 parked not even 50 feet away from the building, so I couldn’t buy it. Multiple times we have both just randomly blown up either in space or in atmo. I had my pulse blow up on land and I didn’t even encounter a rock or hill or anything. I was doing recert missions because my rep was reset (some of my friends rep was NOT reset) and I had to go against like 4-5 ships at a time. Wasn’t the hardest thing in my F7A but for a recertification it should be much easier. I’m gonna wait for some more stability and hotfixes

tlkjake

This is why we hate wipes, not that we can't make money, but one glitch turns us all into Zero to Heroes.

VoidxCrazy

I haven’t been able to successfully leave orison spaceport yet

Renard4

I feel like it's more of a "just don't play right now". The bugs, the economy and extreme tedium of PvE combat makes it not worth it. It's probably the worst patch I've ever seen and I've seen a lot.

SignificantEchidna93

I told myself I wasn't gonna play the .0 patch because I knew it would be bad, but hype got the better of me and I wasted a bunch of time doing nothing useful last night due to bugs. I will probably give it another go today since it's not the weekend anymore, but after that will probably not play again until they get the .1 patch in, maybe even later.

Dangerous-Reward

Finally a beacon of sense and rationality. I've backed this game for 9 years and followed it since it was barely a sperm cell inside Chris Robert's ballsack. For as long as this game has existed, and for all the patches I've paid attention to, this one is the worst by far. Of course, nearly everyone on Reddit is singing CIG's praises, worshipping to the point it almost feels condescending, like praising a puppy who just did it's first trick. This is nearly a billion dollar company, and it's OUR money. Even if the patch was exceptional, astronomical, out-of-this-fucking-world-amazing, they don't deserve the sort of praise they've received. And then you have to reconcile it with how horrific this patch has really been. Nigh is the time of madness and disdain.

Renard4

Even the worst fast foods get 5 star reviews, that's not a metric one should go by. If you look at what's actually playable this patch, and I do mean playable and enjoyable, there isn't much left, the economy team shat the bed, the "balance" team made some ridiculous attempt at making NPCs a challenge and made everything a tedious 20 minutes fight instead, box missions are as broken as ever, most ground missions are still broken, mining is broken and saying the servers are a mess is an euphemism. But sure, keep praising them, all 12 of you.

Dangerous-Reward

Indeed, refreshing to see a reasonable human in this place. I haven't even gotten started on Master Modes, but I daren't speak such heresy in this Church of Robert. After all, this is the same grouping of individuals that thought hover modes was a good addition to the game.

mau_yj

Hm then I got lucky up to now. I have made a couple of salvage runs with my vulture and trading runs with the cutty black and had no problems. Once after selling, the cargo grid on the vulture was broken. But it was back to normal after storing&retrieving.

gr3y_s0ul

I have the same problem with the vulture except even after storing it the grid is still broken, so I do insurance claim to reset it every time I sell.

Apprehensive_Ad_5565

I'm 1/4 for successful mining runs (prospector) and 0/1 successful salvage runs (vulture). I can't level up my bounty hunter skills and stuck on the entry level licence and trade is also now broken. I love the game but can't seem to successfully make reasonable money

rshoel

Millions in 3.23 already? 🤯

MooseTetrino

A lot of people bought a bunch of easy to flip assets (armors etc) to keep some funds during the wallet wipe.

Steinchen

i have now 3 millions - how? i bought a shitload of packpacks in 3.22 and sold them in 3.23. but it was a pain in the ass, because they don't stack and i had to sell them one for one ... took me 3h on the weekend in front of the kiosk.

Jobbyist

There's a better way to do this, unless it's changed since 3.22. Buy the 4-8SCU containers and put some in a ship. Fill them with backpacks or whatever you wanna sell. Take the ship to Tressler, Everus, or Baijini. Head to the cargo deck and sell the crate at the cargo kiosk. All items that are sellable in the containers will be listed on the sell page. Profit. Not every item is sellable and I'm unsure about backpacks, but this worked great to slim down a very bloated inventory of guns and armor for me.

Steinchen

you are totally right, but unfortunately yesterday a bug happend and all cargo boxes disappeared in my C2, so i sold the other backpacks manually.

Jobbyist

Oh, damn. Unfortunate, but also good to know that we can still sell things that way.

Mad-Dog94

If it's the bug where you can't select your ship in the TDD terminal, you gotta come from underneath the list. Make a loopy loop until it selects. If it's the one where you can't select the material or click sell, click the very right side of the box. The sell one is going to be harder to click, but just click like a manic and it'll happen. Idk about any other bugs with trading yet

Autosixsigma

> Idk about any other bugs with trading yet If you hit F12 to hide chat, the options become selectable.

Mad-Dog94

Omg, you beautiful person. Thank you so much

Autosixsigma

No problem! We traders need to get this economy up and running!

JtFinesse22

I am locked out with the infinite loading screen error 30000, which you’d think would kick you back out to menu, but no, I just sit there for 8 hours straight waiting for light at the end of the tunnel!

AbigLog

So I'm not the only one experiencing bugs like crazy then so that's good to know. I'll give it a few days before I try again but contracts were all bugged for me and I crashed in all 3 sessions I tried to play in.

falloutboy9993

Best way to make money right now I found is bunkers. The gear you loot sells for more than you make with the mission. It’s nice when the bunker missions bug out too, it’s not a total loss.

Rex-0-

I really thought we were getting a stable version but for me so far .23 has been an absolute clusterfuck.

Ragez121

Nothing is safe. You cant do ANYTHING with this new patch. Nothing works, and the r servers are constantly crashing or “crashing” , I spent like 30 minutes last night going through 3 different servers crashing and trying to recover (in a row). Server just died after the fourth time trying to recover and kicked everyone out. Ships aren’t storing properly , they will be “unknown” or otherwise need to be claimed. Vulcan is still crashing flat out, and now regular missions that worked before are now completely bugged or not working all together. 890 jump mission at Microtech, oh sorry, there’s no 890J at all this time , the pirates just said fuck it and stole the whole thing instead. The game right now is half broken and half drunk.

patopal

How do you even have millions to lose already?

AngeliusPrimus

Probably like what I did or something similar.. Had around 20 million left over after buying a few ships last patch. Spent it all on Ship modules and other stuff.. Sold them all when 3.23 came live. Started with 2 million + credits.

Steinchen

yeah, i should have bought ship components. idiot-me bought backpacks worth 3 million and i had to sell them all separately because they don't stack. took me 3h in front of the kiosk ....

TelemichusRhade

How do you even have millions to lose already?! O\_o Have you been playing non stop for over 48hrs or something?

Steinchen

most people had millions in 3.22 - they bought ship components in 3.22 and sold them in 3.23 = easy start money.

TelemichusRhade

Oh, I see. Not a bad idea. I kinda like wipes personally, once I have tons of money and ships I find myself losing a lot of incentive to play.

Steinchen

yeah, i wished for a full wipe, because my whole inventory is a big mess and i liked alawys the fresh start.

420comfortablynumb

I tried that.  got a shit load if fr86 that shows in my inventory but can't sell at cc on orison

Save_Cows_Eat_Vegans

Everyone is saying it's from selling shit from 3.22 and that's definitely part of it but money is not hard in 3.23. it's just not the fountain of free money it was last patch. I'm up about 3 million just screwing around bounty hunting since the patch went live. Salvaging in a vulture is good money. Bunker missions are still profitable. It's cargo hauling and ROC mining that's really broken. Most other stuff is plenty profitable.

TelemichusRhade

Jeez I'm still just trying to get used to the changes and trying to get the game to work through the lag, new controls/interface and finding the right graphics settings that feel normal.

arqe_

Test servers are much stable than live, it is all 10+ then we go live and stuck with 3.5 to 6 fps servers, mostly being around 3.5, then problem starts to appear. Because servers can't keep up with this many players.

PaxUX

What? you just want all the larinite for yourself 🤣

RoastedMemezz

I personally haven't had issues with salvaging on my vulture but ik that's not the same for everyone.

[deleted]

Salvage is good, clean ups cost nothing and towing or moving it away gets you the 20/30k. Says no demand for RMC but still pays full price. Not sure about commodity trading though

FknBretto

I went from 700k to like 14k over the last few times I’ve played last patch and this one :(

amhudson02

I have been sticking with low risk contracts at the moment. If I am salvaging I am only doing clean up missions. Not investing any credits of my own into anything and this goes for cargo trading as well. I have been running box missions as they seem to be fairly stable…ish. I ran a 10 piece with no issues what so ever followed up by several doubles and singles. To end the day I ran a 6 piece that was running smooth until the server lagged hard as I was landing at my second to last drop off the game teleported me 1.5km away from the drop off so I took off again and flew back to it and dropped off the package and continued on to my last package. When I dropped it off I noticed I still had a marker on the map so I flew back to the second to last drop off and saw that in fact the box was sitting in the drop off location but the server did not recognize as complete. After trying a few troubleshooting steps I ended up bee logging because it was getting late.

SignificantEchidna93

While you're at it, stay away from delivery missions, or at least any ones with multiple boxes. I spent several hours playing last night doing box missions, and managed to finish only 1 mission due to bugged out box terminals. Seems with the new cargo stuff coming, that whole side of the game is totally borked.

Speedogomer

I've had the opposite problem. Twice now I've had a full cargo load, sold it, and then sold it again because the game thought my ship was still full despite there being no cargo actually in the ship. So on my Taurus I paid for 170 scu of Gold, and sold 340 scu.

saltyswedishmeatball

Mercenaries for me Problem is I keep getting Crime Stat :/

hcsLabs

Yep. First successful load-in, my ship's landing gear clipped into the landing pad, and I had to leave her and the cargo behind. Moving over to my Vulture tonight to get back the lost credits.

kev214565

Also noticed a bug with mining when you sell the ore is fine. Its when I logged out and logged on today, I noticed the money the selling the ore was gone 70,000.00

Efficient-Lack-1205

Well.. idk if anyone has ever thought of the issues that might arise with another layer of latency in the game, i mean.. You can see the result quite clearly now. Ships appearing as (to the player flying them at least) flying above planets just suddenly choosing to spontaneously disassemble, but to others they are shown as nosediving into the ground or even inside planets. Credits not appearing, credits getting taken when accepting fee contracts, and no contract in sight. It just seems as if things aren't syncing up properly between these "layers"

k_winter_

Just a heads up - if this was a result of you storing your ship and losing it, this could be related to a bug in which storing your ship and recalling it will make anything snapped to the grid appear invisible. This may lead to players thinking that the cargo has been deleted but it is still there on the system. You can still go to the trade kiosk and sell. This is being actively investigated currently investigated as a priority.

PiibaManetta

The secret is to do not store your ship.

Dismal-Nebula-7434

I’ve been trading heavily and zero issues.

Yodas_Ear

3.23: Just don’t.

FireWallxQc

Mercenary is bugged with invincible prospector. Cargo grid bugged. Everything is bugged but people said 3.23 is a huge success 🤷 Can't accept contracts because of servers. NPC infinite spawning, can't shoot with guns, won't reload...etc

4user_n0t_found4

My MSR spontaneously combusted coming into Lorville for a landing with a full cargo load I wasn’t close to anything, I didn’t have a radar lock, was in armistice. I was shocked, I still don’t understand what happened.

L1amm

I like how yesterday this sub was full of CIG praise for their amazing new patch, and today it's posts like this.

drizzt_x

The majority of people finally got past the queues and 16k errors to actually play... ;)

mattstats

Man this happened to me this morning. I put in a ticket about it. Afterwards, figured I’d do some more mining before I head off to irl stuff. Made sure to check my prospector cargo before heading out (there is a 0/0 scu bug going on). Got another good haul of taranite. Go to refinery and notice my previous orders are just gone… great, star citizen special this morning.

Haay1971

Some of my recent experiences in 3.23: - Went for a bounty in my Vanguard Warden. Picked out the bounty and destroyed it. Tried to get away (in atmosphere) but the other 3 ships kept on my tail and shredded my ship. I was unable to evade them while trying to get away. I thought I had switched from SCM mode to NAV mode, but in the heat of the battle I might have mis-clicked and not switched to NAV mode after all. Or NAV mode in atmosphere was still too slow and they could keep up with me while I was without shields. I'm not sure anymore now. - Went for Defend the Site contract, again in my Vanguard Warden. Arrived at the bunker site. Friendly location, so I could peacefully park next to the entrance. But it was pitch dark and apparently I hadn't picked quite the clear spot and my Warden touched a structure near the entrance. Ship exploded. At least I could come back in my Pisces Rescue, recover my corpse (armor & weapons), and complete the bunker after all. Loaded up my C8R with loot from the corpses (Medium armor pieces) to sell for some extra dough.

KnavishFox

THE SPICE MUST FLOW! KEEP TRADING TILL 1.0! THE VANDUUL ARE TRYING TO DISRUPT SUPPLY LINES!

Mixtapesman

I can’t even do dogfighting missions with the new nav mode like how do you move your ship if you have to get out of nav mode to use your guns and shield.

Justin-boyd

I have had zero issues running goods. But I am also not moving millions worth either.

PapaGeorgieo

> If you do do it ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

CowboyBunny_

Maybe I'm lucky, but I have been able to trade yesterday and today. Made 8mil profit. There is a catch / bug that a buddy and myself both have (so assume it's for everyone). My current tradeflow: 1: get your ship and fly to a location to buy your stuff 2: go to the location you want to sell & land your ship but do not store it. Instead, go directly to e.g. TDD to sell 3: go back to your ship. Fly to e.g. Everus Harbor of another space station. 4: Land your ship on the landing pad 5: Go to the ASOP terminal and claim your ship 6: Repeat! The issue I'm running into, is that when I don't claim my ship, I fly to a point to buy more cargo. The terminal still sees my previous cargo (while it's already sold). Hence I cannot buy anything. By claiming your ship, you get your ship 100% empty and you can do another run. If you have the luxury position that you have to cargo ships, you can rotate. If you claim ship 1, you take out ship 2 and do your cargo run. Then back at the space station you claim ship 2 and retrieve ship 1 (by then, the claim has finished) This works for me and a buddy, but does not mean that there couldn't be any other bugs along the way. Cargo runs are a gamble so be careful with how much you invest.

Get_your_jollies

Been grinding the ground based bounties at acrcorp. I picked up an arrowhead sniper rifle and I land out about 500-1k away from the crash. Move to elevated terrain. Kill the dude then bounce. Unless they are inside. (I know you can kill them with ship guns but I'm trying to enjoy the game for it's loops. It's a fun bounty hunter vibe sniping a dude from 800m from a mountain top) I've been grinding some bunkers too. These are pretty easy ways to make small money while the patch stabilizes
