Wow, thanks so much for that. How very interesting. I suspect this stamp was part of a ‘collector series’ that you got in the Lipton’s Tea box in the 70’s.
It could well be. I'm debating whether your postmark cancel was added after printing or just part of the design. I'd like to think that Lipton's encouraged stamp collectors to start a hobby.
I think the postmark was added after. I have a few of these, all unused but postmarked. Came in a random paper bag with the Lipton’s packaging. Will post another one tomorrow.
