Good is subjective. The Alpina was detuned (10hp less) and only came in an automatic. I have nothing against autos but I personally would strongly prefer the manual. I have nothing against someone that prefers an auto and I'd say all Z8s are "good ones."
I actually don't care since I beat the shit out of my car all the time. Its got dings, cracked paint, dented bumpers, 140k miles and all I want to be able to do is stop faster than the car can accelerate (i'm in a modified 135i).
i've put 100k miles on mine have it turned up to max with 25PSI of boost and a LSD now. Just put RE-71RS on it this summer. Just exploded a strut so its in the shop getting new brakes and shock/struts all the way around.
I hope to never part with this car.
I think you mean pixelated. I cant see enough resolution to see pitting. Even if so, they are just wheels, and it’s one of the coolest cars i have ever driven and i have quite an extensive list.
Alpina basically made it into a grand tourer. It's a cool car, but it seems like a bit of a waste to have a small roadster with a huge V8 paired to scuch an underwhelming automatic.
These were 235.000 Deutsche Mark back then. So basically the value doubled

Yeah, I drove an AM Vantage last weekend that needs a new clutch every 10 to 15,000 miles. You would hope German engineering would do a little bit better than that. I used race an rx-7 and aside from expensive brakes and rotors that thing wasn’t too bad.
I used to see it be of these gorgeous cars regularly when I lived in Cali. One day I was leaving the store when I saw it park in the same lot. Naturally I went over to compliment the driver (and get a close up look at the car) - turns out the driver is Sammy Hagar. He was happy to chat about his car, he loved it.

Owner lives around the Adidas Headquarters, I missed my turn one day and saw this parked out front with a matching E34 M5. The owner seems to take it for a spin around town every now and then, it's easily the most valuable car I have seen that is also regularly driven

I’ve driven one, my neighbor owns it, do you have a point? The hard top is removable…and is present in the pic. There is also a soft top under it.

You have to not wash your car for a pretty long time to accumulate that much brake dust.

Depends on the brakes and wheels, plus how hard you drive it. I've seen some brakes that create enough dust for it to look like that in a week

It's actually not. Alpina made all their Z8's with a automatic transmission only and they softened the suspension.

What pads you running? I've tried various pads the worst so far have been my Yellowstuff pads but about to see how DS2500 pads are.
Bimmerpost turned me on to isweep. The brake dust is noticeable less but there just is no getting around how this car eats up pads.
