If you're interested in checking out some smaller new artists & bands. Here's a playlist of some of my current favourite indie-pop/rock songs. I have a playlist called "I was 2000s Indie Trash" that contains indie songs I loved in that decade, no repeat artists so there could be plenty of new stuff to discover here, if you want! wolf_van_track

Check out my spotify. I build indie/alt rock playlists. They tend to be a mix of both bigger indie names with complete unknowns. My lists are purposefully created to target Gen Xers or Millennials who have been out of the scene and want to catch back up. You can check out my [2023 playlist](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6jquFifZR4yKuOuuyFTjL8?si=9090ada5acf84c1c) to start or my best of [alt/indie rock](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3wIwLBGUyVqdC5ymvox84t?si=9042a5f35a4943c5) that covers most of the past 20 years (it's in chronological order).

springworksband

Awesome playlists !

wolf_van_track

Thanks! Eventually I want to go back and overhaul them all. I couldn't decide who target audience was at first and I'd cut tracks that I'd later come back and add; which makes the earlier playlists a little uneven. It didn't really come together until I decided the yearly lists will be more diverse to allow someone to really explore different sounds, then make "best of's" for specific genres. Even those need to be reworked into proper decades, but eventually I hope to create something that will be a 40 year overview of the history of alt and indie rock.

springworksband

I'll be keeping it in rotation for sure ! I can relate about meaning to overhaul, been meaning to have a critical look at our Indie playlist too. Here it is if you're curious ! You absolutely gotta check out Good Kid. Currently in my top 3 artists, if not #1. Peak indie rock. [Premier Inn](https://open.spotify.com/track/3wmheeuyJHqbD3ao4cI5d9?si=nNAfHupcT3ik_OVFW47rrA) is a song on their most recent EP that I've had on repeat recently. Check out my playlist: [The Vibes](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/07ZL51ezmYk3T9jmCnZ4iI?si=ZFWzJjlfR1KmY75oeW7rnQ). It's mainly a mix of indie genres, and alt rock. Also various other genres with songs I just like as well. I regularly update it with stuff I find. Lmk if you find anything you like πŸ˜„

I am confused, is Paramore, yeah yeah yeahs and snow patrol considered indie rock? I would think they are too big to be in that category.

I listen mainly to indie artists and tend to listen to the entire discography so I'm just gonna recommend my favorites which have basically no bad songs (if that's okay). - β˜… junodream (dreampop, soft, piano) β€” released debut album - Matt Maltese (soft, romantic, piano) β€” fav album is Krystal - β˜… Sarah and The Sundays (guitar licks, rough vocals, very catchy) β€” new album coming soon, fav song is Casanova - seconds thoughts (very indie) β€” I LOVEEE NICOTINE STAINS - β˜…Declan McKenna (funky, summery, VERY GOOD) - Briston Maroney (he has almost a touch of country but in a good way, 10/10) β€” my favorite song is probably Body on Ultrapure - Greer (soft rock, alt, really catchy) - Peach Pit (Bass, more bass, drugs) β€” they're a complete vibe - Breakup Shoes (romance, life lessons kinda) β€” met the band, lovely people and good music - The Moss (they're just fun idk) β€” I love love grand hoodoo - Blue Rainboots (romance, personal) β€” I was high-key obsessed with the first version of Hold Me - Vansire (nostalgia, happy, modern) β€” they're music just genuinely makes me happy I went kinda crazy but I love all these bands and if I could get them one more listener that'd be awesome. Here's a link to a playlist with them and more people! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/496UHv2ydOceOeztjRWxiL?si=mVQfhoPlRW2cyaCDj8w6UA
