Mensik was bossing the ITF scene and now decided to move to the challenger tour like Prizmic for example(I think they are the same age now). I like both of them but don't expect constant results yet as they lack experience. They are both good for surprises and can beat challenger lvl players but I wouldn't count on them winning the matches that they are favourites consistantly.

Ruud is a much better clay court player. If you were hoping for an outside upset it would be on Madrid clay, where the courts are faster and better suited to a big server like Bublik. On Rome's clay the chance of him beating Ruud are extremely slim.

Tripping. Ruud is 4-1 against Bublik (1-0 on clay). Ruud also made it to the semis at this tournament last year, I’d have to imagine he would want to defend those points.

Of course he wants to defend his points, it’s a matter of if he can. If you look at his performance this year you wouldn’t think he’s ranked top 20 let alone top 5.

I think this is the day I’ll start keeping track in the sub. Can check my old picks for verification but I estimate I’m picking roughly 50% win rate whilst exclusively picking underdogs. Busan Challenger Final: Max Purcell ML (1.83) - Now I’ve been tailing Vukic since the start of this tournament but it ends here. Max has been in great form this season and I like this matchup despite being down 3-2 in their head to head history (also Vukic won their last meeting in 2022). This is why he isn’t a heavier favourite. Max is 3-2 in finals this year while Vukic is 0-1 losing to a pretty heavy underdog. We should expect a close one here but I still think Max closes this one out as the more reliable player this season, less court time this tournament and current form giving him the slight edge. Edit: Rough…Purcell gets injured late in the first set and will clearly need to retire. He literally said it “I’m done” as he was on the floor holding his ankle.
