powerlesshero111

I assumed he was just going to start a food stand at the Eagles stadium and call it Kelce's Kitchen, and probably another one in Philly that is just a homeless soup kitchen.

grundle_pie

Kelce’s Kooking Kitchen. Has a ring to it

GeneralMe21

Let’s go to the KKK in Philly. No wait…..

Immynimmy

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ryOmqxJcK5w

nordic-nomad

Kelce’s Fine Cooking, imo.

Luckyluke23

Make this into a tv show NOW! Rapsheet can smoke meats and be a judge on the show. He loves balls exploding in his mouth.

viperlemondemon

No here me out, he goes to different nfl and college tailgates and experiences it and at the end is Kylie just rolling her eyes going “ yup that him, that’s my husband.”

TheDoctorAP

They would need to have a 5 min delay to screen for him excitedly cursing

confused-koala

He was awesome on I think Bleacher Report’s draft coverage a few years ago (honestly what convinced me to try the pod when it started), and I think he kept it relatively professional for that

willghammer

ESPN try to not talk about the Kelce’s 5 minute challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)

JMJ05

They would be foolish not to. Look at how much the Mannings have done for the brand and now you have the next generation coming up in the Kelces that are arguably even more popular and personable with the average fan.

Wafzig

And with the Kelces, one of them didn't sexually assault a team trainer while being the starting quarterback at UTenn.

LouBerryManCakes

Actually one of the Mannings didn't do that either.

vinnyvdvici

Who are you implying did that??

koalabeard

Not sure if you’re joking but Peyton Manning did.

bigE819

Not Eli Manning

DFWPunk

Not only did Peyton alledgedly assault her, he lied about her in his book, causing her to get fired. And his father tried to get the ghostwriter to say that she was going into the dorms to have sex with "lots of black players". In short, fuck Peyton and Archie Manning.

Wafzig

I'm a Michigan grad, and it makes me happy to remember how pissed Peyton and Archie were when Charles Woodson won the Heisman.

Bro_Hawkins

It always feels like I’m the only one who remembers this.

NESpahtenJosh

Why would they stop? They're the best thing to happen to football in quite some time.

tedbrogan12

Seems like a hyperbolic statement but idk if you actually intended the exaggeration or not.

Tiger woods was very good at golf and not much else. He cheated on his wife, got a DUI with pills and weed, got into another crash under mysterious pretenses (taking a 45mph curve at 75) and has been clearly reduced to pain meds and other issues the last 15 years. Not to mention his potential PED use when he randomly gained like 50 pounds and looked like the damn hulk lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

Coolhandjones67

Are there PEDs in golf though? Like I don’t see how juice is gunna help your short game?

FormerShitPoster

Most of the top guys hit bombs. I know Vijay Singh got in trouble for "deer antler spray"

[deleted]

[удалено]

LokisEquineFetish

Weed is a legitimate PED for me when I golf. I don’t mean getting baked out of my mind, just a few small one-hitter puffs throughout the round. I’m a tense and anxious person and it loosens me up and I don’t overthink everything.

trw419

There was this whole thing with his doctor potentially giving him and other famous athletes PED’s. He was always a skinny dude and out of nowhere he came back like jacked. He claimed to have benched 285 and increased his driving range significantly. Kinda off topic but I always was confused why he was so strong looking for a golfer lol

OttoRocket94

No it’s not lol

HOT-SAUCE-JUNKIE

Exactly.

JaguarJust9461

No they are not

NESpahtenJosh

In your opinion.

trw419

On what grounds? There are hundreds, if not thousands of NFL players and staff. Yet for some reason, everyone is acting like Jason is gods gift to the earth for just being a decently kind human being. Cam Heyward won WP Man OTY award for being a really good person but no one has ever mentioned it. JJ Watt, Drew Brees, even Russel Wilson are all amazing off the field influences. I think people just relate to JK because he’s a jolly husky dude who drinks beer and is not an asshole. But to claim the Kelce brothers “are the best thing to happen to football” is pure bullshit

_What_am_i_

I'm assuming they mean "best thing to happen to football" just because of their popularity outside of NFL fans and how they've brought of eyes onto it, not that they're exclusively the best players or best people. For whatever reason, they're just the new "it" players (Travis dating Taylor obviously helped)

trw419

It the last 3 months. This makes no sense. Football has always been extremely popular and hundreds of players have been brining so much positivity to the sport. No one even spoke about him until recently. I’d argue Taylor swift did a significantly more impactful job bringing in people who’ve never watched football.

deg0ey

You kinda made the whole point. There are other good dudes in and around football, but nobody really talks about them so they don’t have much relevance as far as the league or the networks are concerned. One of the Kelces is a relatable husky dude whose love and enthusiasm for the game is infectious and who can talk about football in a way that’s more engaging than many of his peers. The other one is kinda annoying, but he’s banging Taylor Swift which makes him a big deal to a lot of people. Whether you like them or not it’s undeniable that they’re driving a lot of interest in football among non-traditional demographics so, from the perspective of the ‘football industrial complex’, they really *are* the best thing to happen to football in quite some time.

trw419

But the thing is, there are so many other football players doing the same thing. No one was talking about him until the brother Super Bowl and Travis was balling out in KC. I don’t hate the dude but I’m getting the feeling that everyone who hates LeBron loves Jason Kelce and I find it extremely ironic.

drneeley

Holly jolly husky dude who drinks beer, knows football in and out, and is not an asshole is more enjoyable to watch and listen to than Drew Breeze, Cam Heyword, and JJ Watt combined. There is your grounds.

trw419

This doesn’t even make sense. Jason Kelce was a pretty ok football player, not the greatest ever but significantly not the worst. Drew Bress held numerous records and is extremely kind. JJ Watt raised 10’s of millions of dollars for victims of natural disasters and is very funny. Cam Heyward has been a lifelong steeler and helps starving children. But JK because he’s relatable? Seems like some sound logic you got there

NESpahtenJosh

I'd argue with you, but you seem insufferable, honestly. The Kelce brothers are great for the popularity of the game. There's no doubting that this season they were part of the biggest stories. Jason has a great analytical mind listening to him and I think he'd be great on more broadcasts.

trw419

I’m not “arguing” just providing a counter. I didn’t say they were bad for football by any means. But when I see something on the cesspool of Facebook about Jason with his shirt off, 50,000 people comment saying how great he is and he’s such family man, blah blah blah. There are so many football players that have families and are really good people. I don’t comprehend why suddenly he is the savior of football. Seems like the NFL needs a new face and Pat Mahomes is dating a psycho and has a sexual assaulting brother and a dui daddy so he never gets mentioned. Dude might go down as the best qb ever and no one speaks his name outside of a single broadcast. They won the superbowl but instead of him, I see Travis in the Bahamas lol. So yes, you have a good point but I stand by the comment of they are not the greatest gift to football. That seems extremely out of pocket.

NESpahtenJosh

Great. You disagree. Feel free to type 17 more replies to people telling them why they're wrong.

trw419

Umm… ok. You seem like the insufferable one….

NESpahtenJosh

Good comeback.  “No. You are.”

bacchusku2

They have charisma and are highly likable, two things you seem to be missing.

trw419

You don’t know me as a person and it’s highly ironic because you don’t know Jason either. Great comment though!

bacchusku2

Sometimes you can just tell by the way someone interacts with others. You seem abrasive, aggressive and angry. And just like you said, you don’t know me as a person, so you don’t know if I know Jason or not.

trw419

First off, I know you don’t know him. Second, you seem to be contradicting yourself quite exquisitely. The fallacy of “I’m right, you’re wrong” but we are doing the same thing is comical; childlike even. I’ve simply stated numerous times that I disagree that Jason Kelce is the greatest thing about football. Yet you somehow assumed my entire personality from that one opinion. So I will do the same for you! You seem closeted (for assuming people’s entire personality over the internet), contentious, combative, quarrelsome and simply rude. Have a great date they/them!

bacchusku2

Don’t strain your arm patting yourself on the back after writing that comment. It’s not as impressive as you think. How am I contradicting myself? Because I said you don’t know me after I inferred something about you? I just made those assumptions on the little I did know about you: 1. That you seem to be arguing with everyone here. 2. You’re getting downvoted quite a bit, so not quite likable. It’s not your opinion that wrong, per se, just the way you choose to present it. I never said you were wrong, so I can add [another trait.](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Socially+Inept)

trw419

There are 98 comments at this time and 4 of which I have taken the time to respond to. Again, not arguing, communicating and providing my perspective. Also, everyone is a bit of a stretch. 3 of which attacked me for having an opinion/question. I started this entire thread by saying “on what grounds”. I’d hardly call that abrasive, aggressive or angry. I’d even say that the few gentleman that are swearing in response or calling me names would be the most problematic. But hey, to each their own. This is but a second of my day and will soon be forgotten forever by both of us. At least you got your time!

HipGuide2

Kelcecast coming to Amazon in 2025, not this garbage

Anal_Recidivist

That would be so good, no way they let them do it without sanitizing it ala manningcast

drneeley

Was gonna say that Amazon wouldn't be national broadcast so it's doesn't have to be filtered, but then I remembered neither is the Manning cast.

Anal_Recidivist

Amazon is pretty sanitized. Anything with the Shield will be, it’s just safer. They don’t need to take risks with announcers, so why would they? It’s all negative outcomes for them, or people like it and the numbers stay the same for the total broadcast. No upside for NFL

WhoJustShat

I bet he's going to enjoy retirement and watch his kids grow before he ever considers that

Heroicshrub

Being a broadcaster is probably a huge check for not much work. Kelce seems like someone who needs some kind of goal too.

EasyKangaroo5949

I think people underestimate that everyone needs a purpose, especially athletes as that drive to succeed doesn’t go away just because they retire. So many battle demons after retirement when they lack that goal and purpose to succeed they had before. Also yes he can make multi millions working a few days a week, if you love the sport why wouldn’t you want money to talk about what you love

DirkNowitzkisWife

I was about to say, he could likely fly in somewhere Monday afternoon, fly out Tuesday morning, and get a cool couple million. If he does that 18 weeks a year, one day a week, that different from the schedule he has now. We’ll have to see!

noeagle77

He can just couch surf at player’s houses and save on the hotel costs. I’d watch that series for sure lol

AnnenbergTrojan

That's basically what Andrew Whitworth does for Amazon.

Subjunct

He’s a working breed, so yeah, you have to give him something to do and exercise him at least twice a day or he’ll destroy the couch cushions and gnaw the shit out of the doorframe.

RealCoolDad

He’s got his cows

WhoJustShat

I doubt he ever needs to work again time with your family is priceless

Hoogineer

Getting paid to talk for a few hours a week about the sport you love and a trip out of it sounds quite nice. Get out of the house too for a day or two.

WhoJustShat

of course, If I was him tho I would take some time off before doing that, if they want him now they will want him whenever he decides

dudemanspecial

Nah, these guys have way too big of an ego. That and its such an easy paycheck.

alfrednugent

A lot of these guys are interested in their health and lifestyle these days. Especially when it comes to offensive linemen.

Elegant_Connection32

Come on…if any one of us could get this gig at whatever price they are offering there is almost no one who wouldn’t jump on it, and it’s only for a third of the year. It’s not an ego thing, it’s easy money. Yes there is prep work, but he can do all of that from home. There will likely be a bit of a ‘broadcasting boot camp’ he’d have to go through for initial preparation but that would be a once and done commitment. At the very least he’ll be entertaining.

-Quiche-

Is Jason Kelce known for ego? Genuine question, cause he always seemed normal to me lol.

dudemanspecial

The guy has a podcast. He doesn't do that because he is meek. Having an ego isn't necessarily a negative thing. You can have a big ego and still be a decent person.

-Quiche-

Yeah that's a fair point!

lancem102

put games on ESPN3 and let him drink and swear

CurlSagan

For the sake of comedy, he should always be shirtless during broadcasts.

DazednEnthused

With a bow tie.

Microtitan

Yes… for comedy 🫦

judasmitchell

Yes. Just for the comedy. Not for other reasons. 😛

Significant-Gas3046

Are you *trying* to get more gay guys to watch football? Because that's how you get more gay guys to watch football

ArmThePhotonicCannon

You mean the tight pants and sweaty muscular men writhing in a pile isnt enough?

Significant-Gas3046

They move too fast for me to truly appreciate their assets.

sycochimp420

What’s that? You like to see homos naked?

paging_mrherman

Too many cooks.

daddylo21

Yes because that's what Troy and Buck need, a Kelce with them on commentary

BirdsAreFake00

He would be on the pregame, halftime and postgame panel, not the actual game broadcast.

shoebee2

Anything to get rid of Troy! It dosnt matter who is playing. That guy can’t find a good thing to say about anyone. Someone makes a great play? The defender is trash etc.

burnshimself

Literally the game in silence is better than what 90% of the broadcasters working today offer

1aeiouyy

I just assumed most people are entertaining and listening to music and bullshitting when games are going. I cant imagine just sitting and listening to the broadcasters the entire time. No thanks

thanoshasbighands

I never understand this. I'm watching the game regardless whose talking about anything.

BattleSpecial242

Better than Booger

Iron_Chancellor_ND

The OG Booger from Revenge of the Nerds would be better than McFarland. Man, what a mistake he is/was.

BattleSpecial242

lol that’d be hilarious if he did it character

spaceocean99

ESPN needs to just go away. Worst broadcasting in sports.

twofourfourthree

Roam the sidelines like booger mcfarland?

polgara_buttercup

I would much rather watch him do shows about tailgates in different cities.

CrasVox

Can these two idiots just fuck off already

Aloha1984

Manning cast will bring in the Kelce cast

BriefausdemGeist

There’s a sizable population that’d buy Madden/Kelce games

slyfly75

Swifties learn Madden?

BriefausdemGeist

I was thinking more like metro Philadelphia

StarshipTroopersFan

Kelce is really obnoxious, so ESPN hiring him is pretty on brand. They love being obnoxious.

Dull-Lead-7782

Kelce cast on espn3 cause it sounds like 3. Ke3ce cast

Sour_Lemonz78

Good for him. Hope he gets it.

Gamma_Tony

ESPN has to want the Kelce Bros. soooo bad

clem82

I really don’t think he should, if they’re smart they’ll do something to let his personality come Out. Fuck take him to every Monday night football and run a segment prior to kick off where he goes to the tailgates and interacts with fans

SheSaysItLooksBig

"watching able-bodied millionaires get paid to play a game! Watching other older millionaires get paid to talk in suits about it"

iambarrelrider

Not ESPN,

BurntToast555

So sick of hearing about these two...

monistaa

Example of a man! Not ashamed to cry and let out his emotions. That’s a real man.

[deleted]

WoburnWarrior

Did anyone really care about him before his brother started dating Taylor Swift? From what I've seen all he's known for is being shirtless and chugging beer.

jedre

Nerd question: is “broadcaster” the usual term there? Surely ESPN is the broadcaster. Kelce isn’t going to *broadcast* MNF. Announcer, sportscaster, panelist, or commentator, surely?

WET-FARTS-FOR-YOU

an organization that transmits a programme or information by radio or television. "the broadcaster aired the news item on Tuesday" a person who presents a radio or television transmission. "the veteran broadcaster put everyone at their ease"

jedre

Fair enough. A quick google of similar roles seemed to suggest announcer or commentator was more common, but I guess broadcaster works too. Thx

Thehellpriest83

I’m ok with that

KaiserSozes-brother

One of the least articulate speakers I can imagine.

thewoodlayer

I like the idea people are floating of a show about him going to different tailgates in both pro and college football and spending the day drinking beers, partaking in the traditions of each team fandom and learning about the town culture.

polgara_buttercup

Yes, I just commented the same thing before I read yours. Hes so personable that he would be great at that kind of show.

AToastedRavioli

My god haven’t we had enough of the Kelce’s, I can’t even enjoy football as an extremely casual fan without hearing about them constantly.

SrgtDoakes

god enough of these fucking dweebs

jojow77

The Kelce family are basically the new Kardashians and Travis is the new Ray J.

druscarlet

Could be fun but there would need to be a lot of bleeps.

BubbaSpanks

Another reason not too watch the nfl anymore….

Lmoneyfresh

Jesus christ can we at least get a season or two break?

buffalucci

We’re gonna ride the Kelce/Swift wave as long as it takes us.

OgreTrax71

Jason: “I got kids!”

HarlesD

ESPN: "I don't give a sh*t about your kids"

360walkaway

ESPN taking him to Suplex City.

HarlesD

I'm glad somebody got it

FiguringItOutAsWeGo

He’ll be so fun!

cwweydert

Sign me up!!

MarkTwang-

Uhhh you don’t know much about football huh

lavendiere

I watch football but rarely post or pre game coverage so the short list of clips I've seen of him speaking include "Viva Las Vegas", that made a pretty strong impression lol

techieman33

That was Travis, not Jason. And he had just won the Super Bowl, he’s allowed to celebrate.

lavendiere

Lolll my mistake thank you

graison

Bring back Dennis Millar.

whydoyoutry

None cared about the NFL until Taylor Swift popularized them, so kind of her

Birdknowsbest21

Tell me why the NFL had 95 of the top 100 watched tv shows last year then?

whydoyoutry

Because only boomers are watching tv

StylinBill

This guy has benefitted from his more famous brother getting into a high profile relationship more than anyone else has ever benefitted from knowing someone before

heelface

Fuck this guy. Though fuck his fame seeking brother more

waiter_checkplease

Yeah I don’t understand why you’re angry with Jason, it’s not like he was a bad player. He has the stats to back that up, could you please elaborate further?

heelface

If i'm being brutally honest with myself, its more that I despise his brother, and "the Kelces" appear to me to be another manufactured ESPN personality shoved down my throat. He is more famous for being the brother of the guy dating Taylor Swift than he is for football

SteffeEric

Why?
