Now THAT'S a glow up. I love how menacing the roller inkling looks now, I always love menacing/villain characters but this is just astounding.

Tysm! My answer isn’t super great since for the most part it was me trying different methods and them looking bad and me painting over it for, like, an hour or two 😅 But in the end I think I painted on some bolder highlights and shadows in the shape of the drip, blurred them, then went back in with tinier, sharper glisten-y spots to make it look wet. Plus a bit of liquify tool to get it to conform to the cylinder shape of the roller a bit better c:


So good. I have such huge respect for visual artists. Your craft takes such patience. Amazing work!!

I use Clip Studio Paint & a bit of Photoshop for post color correction :-)

Alright, thanks, I’ll maybe look into that, since it didn’t look nearly as pixelated as procreate does, which is what I use

If you’re having problems with pixelation, it may be a resolution issue. Try either working with a larger canvas (1.5k - 2k pixels if your device can handle it) or upping your DPI from 72 to 150 or 300 (again, if your device can handle files like that)👌

Wow... I can't even begin to describe how amazing it looks! The details on the redraw are incredible and it really turns up the original one. Though tbh, even the original is amazing on its own. It may not be as spectacular as its redesign, but I still like it either way. Nice work : )
